Well, after forever, I decided to update! I was listening to some of The Looking Glass Wars soundtrack and got some inspiration. And, not wanting to waste the inspiration, I wrote chapter four xD

Enjoy!

Do you have sugar?” she asked.

Yes, of course.”

Then yes, please!” she said cheerfully, and followed the little rabbit into his house.

She looked around the foyer, enjoying the cozy feel of the small home, decorated in pink and white. She really had liked how the outside had looked too; like a doll house. She felt comfortable, which was nice, considering all that she’d been through during her very long morning.

“Please,” theWhite Rabbit said, hopping into another room by the stairs, “Come sit down while I get your tea ready.”

Skie followed the Rabbit into the small dining room. A heart shaped table rested in the center, and three little chairs with heart shaped cushions surrounded it. She took a seat on one of them, sighing contentedly as she relaxed. She smiled as she watched the Rabbit hop back into the dining room from the unseen kitchen.

“Here you are, dear,” the Rabbit handed her the small, no, tiny, teacup and heart shaped saucer.

“Thanks,” she said. She drank the entire cup’s contents in one gulp, and held back a wince at how bitter it was. “Did…did you put sugar in this?” she asked.

“Yes,” the Rabbit sat down in a chair at the table as well, his own small teacup in his paw. “Why, does it need more?”

“Maybe just a bit. Could I actually have some more?” she showed him the empty cup.

“Oh! Done already? Stay here,” the Rabbit got off his chair and hopped into the kitchen, only to hop back with the entire tea kettle and a small jar of sugar. “Here you are,” he told her, placing the two items on the table in front of her.

“Yes!” she grinned and scooped some sugar into her teacup using a little spoon from the jar. She poured herself some more tea, and sat back against her chair again, telling herself to drink it a bit slower this time. Looking at the teacup again, she decided this would be a hard thing to do, as one teacup would equal little more than one mouthful.

Sips it is, then.

“So,” the Rabbit started, placing his own teacup on the table and looked at her, “What brings you here? We don’t see many like yourself, and I’m curious to know.”

“I followed you,” she said after a sip, “And you wouldn’t freaking stop hopping away.”

“Hm.” The White Rabbit looked at a large pocket watch that he pulled from his coat. “I must not have seen you,” he murmured almost absent mindedly.

“Naaaw!” she waved a hand at him, “No you did! You just said you were late for something. So I got to follow you here, and met up with a bunch of weirdos, and found out Alice is missing.” She sipped her tea again. “Oh, by the way, what were you late for?”

“Ah…” the White Rabbit looked around, as if trying to find an answer somewhere in the room, “An important meeting with my employer.”

“Oh? That’s nice,” she said as she took another sip. Her mom was right, tea did have a calming effect. “Hey, you wouldn’t happen to know where Alice is, would you? I’d like to find her and help her fight against the Queen of Hearts. You’re on the good team, right?”

“Would you like a cookie?” the White Rabbit asked suddenly, paws fidgeting.

“Cookie?” Skie blinked. “Pfff, well, yeah. I mean, yes please.”

The White Rabbit stumbled out of his chair and took a small tin from a cupboard against the white-pink wallpapered walls. He placed it in front of her. “Have the purple one. Yes that one there.”

Skie took the circular purple cookie from the tin and grinned at the Rabbit, ignoring his nervous stare. “Thanks,” she gulped down the rest of her tea and ate the entire cookie in one bite, which seemed to surprise the Rabbit somewhat.

And she instantly wondered if that had been a good idea.

She felt dizzy all of a sudden, and stared droopy eyed at the table as her arm that had brought the cookie to her mouth dropped uselessly to her side. “I don’ feel too good,” she told the White Rabbit, turning her head slowly to look at him, but he was already across the room, opening up another cupboard.

“Oi, rabbit,” she called, “What was in that cookie? I think I migh’ be allergic.”

The White Rabbit ignored her, and opened up another small box on a shelf. Inside the box, was a small heart shaped button. He pressed it.

Skie stood up shakily, using the chair for support. “Dude, I can’t feel my legs,” she shook her head, trying to un-blur her vision.

“Sit down! Have some more tea until help arrives!” the White Rabbit said, hopping back to her and grabbing her wrist with his paws.

“Help? Omigosh, why? Am I dying? Is there a Wonderland Ambulance thing or something? Can I have another cookie?”

“Yes, here,” the Rabbit took a cookie from a different tin and handed it to her. After she stuffed that into her mouth he hopped to a window in the room and looked out, his eyes scanning the large yard and trees surrounding it.

Skie sat back down into the chair, feeling a bit too dizzy to go on standing. Maybe she really was allergic to the cookie. Or maybe…maybe it was drugged?

Naaaw. Why would the cute little White Rabbit give her a drugged cookie? She looked around the dining room at all the heart decorations. Someone who loved hearts that much couldn’t and wouldn’t give her a …. Wait.

Hearts? Hearts everywhere?

Hearts. Queen of Hearts. The White Rabbit worked for the Queen of Hearts! Skie’s eyes widened a bit at the realization as she remembered another little piece of the Disney movie.

Oh snap!

“I need to go!” Skie said in a voice quite a bit higher in volume than she expected. “I have…uh…Something in the oven. I have cereal in the oven. I need to go and get it.” She took one step towards the door and fell flat on her face. “Gargh…ow.”

“You’d be much better off just staying put, Young Miss.”

Skie grunted and pushed herself up to her knees with shaky arms. She lifted an arm to grab the side of the table and pulled herself up, and nearly fell over again as her vision once again blurred dangerously. “Wha…” she swayed where she stood, shook her head and stared at foyer in determination. She had to get out of there.

“Sit down!” The White Rabbit scurried to block her way as she staggered forward.

She fell forward, but grabbed the doorway of the foyer and caught herself. “Jeez.” She grumbled something incoherent and eyed the door, gluing her vision to it. Gotta reach the door, she thought, even more determined now. She took one large step over the White Rabbit, three smaller staggering steps, and another large step, and finally, after almost falling over twice, grabbed the door. “Ha!” she grinned triumphantly. “Take that!”

“No! No, no, no, no, no! You must stay here! You must stay here or she will become very angry!” The White Rabbit tugged her sleeve.

“Who will?” Skie snapped, glaring down at him. “The Queen?” Skie wiggled the doorknob. “Is the door locked? I can’t open it.”

“No. No it’s not locked.”

“Oh. Really? It won’t open.”

“Here, you do it like this.” The White Rabbit sighed and opened the door, holding it open as she staggered out.

“Ha! I’m outside now! Ooh! What’re you gonna do about it?” Skie hiccupped and looked at the front gate that was oh so far away. “Stupid big yard. Why’d you pick such a big yard?” she grumbled as she slowly made her way to the gate.

The White Rabbit was silent.

“Hey! Bunny boy! I’m escaping!” Skie called, wondering why on earth he wasn’t trying to stop her like he was before.

When the White Rabbit didn’t answer, she glanced back over her shoulder to look at him. He was standing in the doorway, still as stone, a blank expression on his face as he watched her. “You’re creepin’ me out, you little cottonfluff.”

She turned to look back at the gate. She had to keep her eyes glued to the gate…otherwise she might fall over again. Movement caught her eye and she glanced up over the gate.

And there stood a Card Soldier, a seven of spades, staring at her with an eyebrow raised.

Skie halted her drunken saunter towards the pink gate and stared at him. “What? What are you looking at?” she barked. “Are you the guy the bunny called? Eh? C’mon, bring it.” Skie pointed at him, nearly toppling over backwards because of the motion, “I can take ya.”

She heard a soft ‘ahem’ and looked at the other side of the gate, and saw another Card Soldier. This one was an eight of diamonds.

“Oh, two of you? Easy peasy lemon squeezy!”

A collective ‘ahem’ went up all around the yard, and Skie’s shoulders slumped. She glanced to her left, and saw the picket fence surrounding the rabbit’s yard had Card Soldiers lining it. She looked to her right and saw the same thing. Wall to wall Card Soldiers surrounding her.

“Joy!” she threw her arms in the air, and fell backwards onto the ground with an ‘oof!’.

“Take her to the Queen, men,” the White Rabbit said, and the Card Soldiers advanced.

“Psh. Takin’ orders from a bunny rabbit? Haah! I laugh at you,” Skie growled as the two soldiers whom were by the gate hoisted her up to her feet, holding her steady by gripping her arms. “You know what? You know what? I seriously need to be getting home. I wasn’t kidding about having cereal in the oven. It’s gonna burn.”

When the soldiers ignored her she tried digging her feet into the ground in front of her to stop the from dragging her forward out of the gate, but the just kept pulling. “Waah! Kidnap! Kidnap! Call the police! Call the fire department! Call NASA!”

“Shut her up, will you?” she heard a voice grumble.

“White Rabbit said she ate a purple cookie. Whole. She’ll be shutting up real soon,” another voice said.

“Whole? Jeez. Were you hungry, or what, kid?”

“Ferget you,” Skie grumbled weakly. She really was feeling her strength ebb away, and her legs were already giving out underneath her, even with support, and two steps later they had to drag her completely.

Clank, clank.

Something landed in front of Skie and the two guards as they exited the gate and started on the road.

Skie looked up with her heavy head to see what it was, and through lidded eyes saw the blurred image of what looked like a tea kettle. “Wha?” she murmured.

And then the tea kettle’s lid flew open, and steam poured out. Soldiers gasped all around her as the steam cloud grew larger and larger, enveloping all of them in a complete haze, making it impossible for anyone to see anything but the light grayness of the steam.

Suddenly, Skie felt the grips of the two soldiers holding her up vanish as they let her go, both of them with a rather surprised cry as they did so. She fell forward, wondering if face planting the dirt again would hurt too much, when something caught her.

She was thrown over that something’s shoulder, and the last thing she remembered seeing before blanking out completely was another rabbit, but this one was larger than the White Rabbit, with much larger ears.

“Bunnies…” she murmured drowsily as her eyes closed , “They’re everywhere…”
