Uzumaki Naruto's a homophobe. Until he finds out that one of his best friends is homo, and to one of his rival's buddies. And not long after Naruto starts to adjust, he finds out that his rival, Uchiha Sasuke, is also gay. He's just curious about who the Uchiha likes. Boy is Naruto in for a surprise.
Recap
He stopped staring, feeling suddenly very frustrated. Naruto stood, moving to walk into the small bathroom and turn the shower on. He stripped his clothes and threw them into a small hamper before pulling a fluffy blue towel out and setting it in arms reach of the shower. Then he stepped into the luke-warm water, standing there for a moment before move to put shampoo in his hair and washing his body. He rinsed and put conditioner in his semi-long hair -which was always longer when wet.
Standing there for a long period of time he rinsed the conditioner out and turned the water off. Grabbing the towel he pulled it in and began to dry off, stepping out with it wrapped around his waist. Naruto sighed, shaking his head to remove excess water before walking to his bedroom to put on his pajamas. He simply pulled out a pair of blue spiral patterned boxers, a dark red pajama shirt and black pants. Then he dressed quickly, jumping into his bed which was cool from not being used all-day.
Oh this is nice.. He snuggled into the bed, getting extremely comfy within moments. He was half asleep when a sudden thought hit Naruto, waking him back up. Is Uchiha gay?!
Chapter 4
The raven watched the blond from the short distance across to the other side of the classroom. It was very noisy amongst the small posse and other students' banter. It seemed his fancied object of affection had been avoiding Sasuke more than previously. Why? He could assume but that didn't mean he could read the others' mind and automatically know what exactly. Actually, this only made him even more curious as to what was going on within Naruto's mind.
But you could not blame him as the bubbly blond made sure to avoid Sasuke, and if caught in a situation he had to be by him, he made an excuse to the teacher such as using the bathroom and made a hasty escape. It did not help that their teachers' were easily fooled into allowing him to. And again, all that served to do was make him wonder. But as he watched the small group, he caught a slight glance from Naruto who seemed to realize he'd been caught and quickly turned his eyesight to his friends once more.
What're you thinking...?
Sasuke began tapping his pencil on the desk to refrain himself from going over to the blond. He only hoped that the teacher would quickly arrive because the insane urge to walk over to Naruto, grab him and drag him from the classroom; where only one with an intelligable mind could have an idea what the raven was set out to do. He sighed, hearing the loud laughing from where the blond was standing, and he could only listen to it. Being the one who had never really been one for emotion, his mask stayed unbroken, though he wanted to smile. The urge was growing stronger yet until finally a teacher walked into the room.
"Alright class, i'll be subbing in for your usual teacher. Let's begin by taking out our books and turning to page..."
The school day had been rather boring and nothing but an inconvenience for the raven. At one point he almost had walked over to the blond and dragged him away, but only hell knows what would've happened after that. His luck he'd end up scaring Naruto and the blond would stay clear away from him permanantly. He couldn't have that happen. Not when he felt the blond was closest now than ever, meaning he'd be able to mess with the blonds' head more effectively. He'd have to thank Gaara and Neji for that one. Them and the blonds' curiousity.
He saw the blond dart away into the school parking lot, followed by Kiba. It seemed that if the others' could not make it, just the two of them would hang out after school. It never failed... Wait.. Could he use that to his advantage one day?
Sasuke'd have to think it through first, of course. But he felt that maybe he could find a way to trick the blond. And then he'd be stuck with no one to walk home from school with. Of course, the raven had already decided that he'd walk out from the school, see Naruto by himself, and try to get him to say ok to walking together. But maybe that was too obvious.
Sasuke sighed, slowly walking towards the sidewalks that led the direction to his home. He needed to do his schoolwork and then continue with his plotting. He didn't want to, but if he had to play dirty to get to Naruto, he would. He liked the blond, alot and for a long time. They'd been young when they'd first met, but they had never quite gotten along.
Naruto avoided Sasuke at all costs, and Sasuke would try and be his friend. Even going out of his way to bring the blond lunch at the park. But all of his attempts at friendship failed, so he'd merely stopped trying. That was until last year when he realized he liked Naruto. That the reason he did not like women, was because he had his eyes on one man. Well, teenaged boy.
But that was beside the point. But because of his grades and popular reputation, it had given Naruto a far worse impression. Hence why the fact Naruto avoided him even more. And now he'd discovered something, and Sasuke was determined to find out what that something was. And then he realized that throughout his thoughts, the raven had reached his home.
Walking into the front gates and continuing the trek to the mansion. He sighed, remembering when he first moved in and constantly got lost. That was not a fun matter, but he did enjoy exploring as long as he didn't need something.
Has it really been fourteen years? Sasuke reached his room, removing the top part of the uniform and then sitting as his desk.
Then he was completing work, quickly but effectively answering any questions. It took him at most an hour, and then he was putting all his books and papers away and stripping his clothes. The raven opened his door, looking around and then swiftly moved to the closest bathroom and to the shower. Turning a few nobs, he got the water to a satisfactory temperature and climbed in. It was then, once he was soaking wet, that he'd forgotten a clean change of clothes.
His mother had a fit when he left the bathroom soaking wet, and with a towel, so he'd made it a habit when he was younger to bring his clothes with him. But with a few simple thoughts, he'd completely forgotten about it. Sasuke sighed, cleaning himself and then getting out after turning the water off. He dried as much as possible and, with the towel around his waste, made his way back to his room.
Mother'll have to deal with it just this once. I think if I have to worry about anyone scolding me it's father. But he's never home anymore, so I guess I don't need to worry too much. Then he was dressing in normal attire, bue jeans and a black shirt.
The raven again left his room, putting the towel and dirty school uniform in a hamper before making his way to the front door. Sasuke wrote a note, saying he was going out, should his mother come home and he not be home, then put his shoes on and walked out.
"Hey Loser! Come get me!"
'Why you!"
The raven overheard arguing as he came upon the park up-town. Or maybe it was more play-arguing? He continued walking, recognizing the voices as Kiba's and Naruto's. Really, when didn't the two argue or fight over something? No matter what, and no matter when, but they still remained friends.
That in itself was an accomplishment Sasuke hadn't attained. He wasn't actually friends with anyone he hung out with, and most were because they were smart, like himself. And it seemed everyone else thought they attained a sort of friendship because of this, because they formed some sort of group. What Naruto had, was really a group, a pack of friends he could hang out with. People who understood him.
Sasuke didn't quite want a group of friends, he just wanted one person. To like him, to accept him, to understand him.
He watched as the two ran around trees, benches, the playground equiptment. Trying to outsmart, joking, taunting eachother, having fun.
Then suddenly a blond flash of light flew past him followed by a brown blur. His expression turning from stoic to incredibly shocked in the next couple seconds, eyes widened and he stepped backwards, as if to avoid the two when they'd already passed.
"Come on, Naruto! Stop!" Kiba seemed to yell after him, slowing himself down to a halt; but the blond didn't stop. Just kept going. "Shit! Naruto, stop!"
The raven turned, wondering why Kiba could be yelling for Naruto to stop. That is, until he saw why. A red, mustang convertible was flying down the road, seeming to be uncaring if there was a red light, stop sign, and alas; a person. Sasuke didn't have much time to react, his body responding with no other motive but to get to Naruto. He caught a flash of red from his peripheral vision, turning his head slightly to meet with Gaara's green eyes.
Eyes that said they knew what was going on with him, wholey and completely.
And then suddenly his mind went blank, heard a yell; his name? Yeah.. It was his name. Why? He couldn't think of why. Naruto? Why was Naruto yelling his name? He couldn't think of a reason for that either.
A few moments went by before he opened his eyes, finding Naruto sitting next to him, crying. Gaara and Kiba were at his sides, trying to calm him down.
"Naruto.. what's wrong? Why're you crying?"
The blond gasped and opening his teary eyes and looking into the raven's.
"Sasuke, you're.." It sounded excited almost, though with a hint of sadness; then he was suddenly jumped upon and encircled in a hug, "Thank god you're okay!"
"Naruto, are you okay?" Why was he hugging Sasuke? Didn't the blond hate him? "I thought you hated me."
He pulled away and looked down to the side, as if thinking. Five minutes, ten minutes. A half hour went by before he got a response.
"I never hated you.. You just seemed to close yourself off and.. enjoyed picking on me."
Now it was Sasuke's turn to be quiet. Confess now? Or never? The raven picked the obvious choice.
"Naruto, I couldn't hate you because... Because I really like you. More than a friend, I like you."
Icy eyes widened and he pulled back, staring shocked at the raven; then his face was a deep red. And when he opened his mouth it came as nothing but stutters, "I uh.. Uhm.."
"Don't worry about answering me now," He decided it best to allow Naruto to think about it. "I don't mind, I'd rather you come to terms with it."
The blond nodded, "Are you really okay? We should take you to the hospital to get checked over. That car was going pretty fast. You're lucky the driver jerked to a hault. Why the hell would you do that anyway?! Run out in front of a speeding car?! I would've been across the street before it got here!"
"I just wanted..."
"Just wanted what?! To die?! You wouldn't have been able to confess anything then, would you have Sasuke?!"
"Naruto, calm down," Kiba tried; unsuccesful.
"No! He needs to see how much of an idiot he was!"
"Naruto, he gets it," Gaara spoke, and Naruto seemed to look up at him before calming down.
"You really are an idiot... Truly.."
"Sasuke dear! Are you alright?" Sasuke'd returned home later that night, his mother fussing over the call from the hospital. He'd made it out of there with a sprain to the wrist and a few cuts and scratches.
"It's nothing mom, really. I'm fine." The raven made his way past his mother, but she grabbed his unharmed wrist gently.
"Sasuke, stay with your mother and eat dinner, alright? Your father won't be home tonight and Itachi's away." He could only nod, following the raven woman and sitting down in a chair across from her.
Two plates had been set on the table already, food decorating the beautiful designs. Plates his mom never used. Why now? But she said nothing to his odd look, simply eating her food after nodding at him.
"Sasuke, is there someone you like, perhaps?" It was sudden, out of the blue, and Sasuke choked on the water inside his mouth.
"Mom!" He got out through coughing and gasping; she smiled.
"What? It was a simple question." He calmed himself after a moment, taking in deep gasping breaths,"But anyway, there is, isn't there?"
He gave her another odd look, "Why would there be?"
"Oh please, Sasuke. Don't insult me, i'm your mother. Don't you know your mother knows everything?" She sighed, smile still dancing on her face as he shook her head, "Why else would you have gotten hit by a car? I know you don't go out that often and when you do you stay to yourself in secluded areas. So the only thing that leaves is that you wanted to protect the person you like!"
Sometimes he hated how his mother's logic always made sense.
"Well, maybe.. but this person doesn't like me."
"How do you know? Things change Sasuke. I thought i've told you that."
"I know that they do." Sasuke turned his head away, staring at a painting.
"Then why do you say he doesn't like you, when he used to years ago?" She allowed a small grin, knowing Sasuke would walk straight into the trap.
"Because I've changed over the years and he hasn't." His eyes widened suddenly and he looked back over at his mother who was smiling victoriously at the raven teen.
"I thought so. My little Sasuke-chan is all grown up now, falling in love. Have you confessed to him?"
He nodded unintentionally, "Yeah.. He was shocked."
"Like I said, Sasuke. Things change, all the time. For the better and for the worst. I have a feeling though, "She stood up, reaching for their now empty plates and gave him a warm motherly smile, "things will be changing for the better." And she left to the kitchen, probably to wash dishes.
I hope so mother.. Dark eyes watching his mother leave, looking around the room and coming to a rest on the spot in front of him on the table. I really do hope so..
