Rion was at death’s door. With his precious life slowly fading away, Lilia takes him to a place where he can leave all his troubles behind. RionxLilia

Bwaha yes I return with a new little story for you fans to squeal happily over.

This idea came to me awhile back after always having that sad empty feeling about the movie ending with Rion dying (seriously and that music didn’t help T.T) Plus if you noticed not once in the whole series has Rion really been happy.

So that’s why I wanted to write this, a sort of alternative ending you could say; This one should really make you fans happy because there’s going to be a lot of Rion/Lilia fluff so I hope you enjoy reading.

Final note: I don’t own Galerians Rion; you’re silly to think otherwise

My sweet Angel…fallen from grace… let me heal your gaping wounds…

(Random line made up by me)

You’ll See The Sun

Pain…why did he always go through pain? Each step of his journey, from the day he woke up in the hospital to where he was now, had held suffering for him and everyone he came in contact with. The people he’d killed, the death that followed him everywhere, and he was the bringer of it.

And now she, the one that brought him into the world, that filled his head with the lies of a fake childhood; she who sent her children blindly to their end. Now she was the one in pain, she was the one suffering. His creator and mother, that monstrous being that believed it was a god.

She would never control him again, not anyone, not ever.

Through blood smeared eyes, Rion Steiner watch as the last of his cursed powers drained from his beaten body. The white energy rippling through the air, colliding into his mother Dorothy; her eagle pitched screams hurting his eardrums tremendously as wave after wave of light broke her steel bones; ripped apart the wives, severing and crushing the circuitry and machinery that were her artificial organs with Rion’s inhuman power.

She deserved it, for everything she’d done.

Her freak of a body gave out its last twitches and her screams finally grew silent. And suddenly as if waking from a dream, the world around the him was enveloped in a peaceful aura of light, The aches and pains in his bruised body dispersing and he was flying oh so slowly in the white abyss.

He was free…

And then like that, the harshness of reality brought him right back again as someone caught him in mid flight, snatching him away from falling any further.

No I don’t want to…

He cried out in vain struggling and thrashing about in the arms of the one who confined him so tightly from behind. No, he didn’t want to go back there, he wanted to be free again, to sore through the endless skies, why couldn’t they let him go? Why…

“Rion it’s me! It’s alright!” his capturer whispered in his left ear so softly, urging him to seize his fighting and relax.

Her…

Her words were all that were needed to make the boy’s movement stop, and he fought no longer in her hold as they floated on through the white empty space. Rion had no need to struggle, because he knew the one who held him there he need not fear, the one person in this world who’d never intend to do him harm.

“Lilia…”

Before their very eyes, the white world faded and they were standing once again on the remains of the platform in Dorothy’s domain. Only this time, there was no Dorothy, looking down on them like insignificant insects.

Dorothy was gone…wiped from existence.

“We…..we did it” Rion breathed, his eyes captured in a daze by the aftermath of their doing. They’d really done it, they had killed her. While the citizens of Michelangelo city had slept soundlessly in the safety of their beds, they were completely unaware of the two teenagers standing on the tallest building in the whole city, the two that’d saved mankind.

Lilia gave a short nod; her knees starting to tremble under the weight of supporting herself and Rion up. It was just too much for her small frame to cope with, as at once her legs gave out. Neither of them winced as they fell down and hit the metallic surface quiet hard on their butts. (As funny as that sounded)

“…Sorry” Rion whispered after some minutes passing. He slowly raised his head up from it’s leaned down position, and tilted his head, so he was able to get a clear view of Lilia’s face. He saw the alarm spread across it as the girl noticed for the first time the dried up streams of blood incrusted on his forehead right to the very ends of his cheekbones. The final act with Dorothy had really worn his brain out plus from the over use of those PPEC’S drugs from his many previous battles. His blood pressure had been so high, he’d felt the blood coursing through his veins at such speed, and heard inside him the sound of his own rapid heart rate struggling to cope with launching the Virus Program. Such a great deal of power, on such a young teenager as himself, it was no surprise one of the veins on the surface of his skin had broken open and bled

At least, it was the only one to have snapped under the pressure…

His dear companion shook her head lightly, her long bronze hair waving slightly as she did, “its okay” she said; it was obvious to her tone she was still concerned about him even as her face muscles relaxed back to normal.

You don’t need to worry about me Lilia, I feel fine…

………

Lilia?

That was another thing that dawned on Rion that he only now begun to notice. He could no longer feel the connection between him and Lilia that invisible bound that held them together so. It was that Virus Program and the Launch Program that’d somehow created the connection between them, and now it was gone…It felt like…a part of his soul was missing…and the other piece of him was feeling that same loss.

The young Galerian slowly looked away staring at the massive hole in the roof of the mushroom tower where an insane God had once been. So many clouds blanketed the sky above becoming that bit brighter by the minutes passing; it must have been daybreak by now, funny, he’d never seen the sun or the blue ocean it sailed in since all of this had happened, pity…

He was brought out from his thoughts as Lilia’s arms came securely around his middle drawing him that more closer. The ends of her soft ginger hair touched the exposed skin of his neck as she nuzzled her cheek against the side of his own. The very action causing Rion’s face to flush with heat as he felt his heart beat that much quicker.

He couldn’t remember a time when someone just held him like this. The close contact was making his nerves shiver all over down to his very core with an emotion he wasn’t familiar with. It was as if he was frightened, being so close to her… when he wasn’t. He couldn’t explain nor understand it, but it filled his heart with peace and he didn’t want to pull away

Never had he before known it, to feel so safe, so warm, so….loved.

Rion’s body gradually relaxed in Lilia’s arms, and very, very hesitantly he leaned back into her warm hug and closed his eyes, listening to the sound of her breathing. And for a long period of time, the two of them sat in the blissful silence. Neither daring nor wanting to break the embrace she still held him in. For the first time, he was truly at ease, there was no Mushroom tower, there was no Michelangelo city; no monsters that lurked in their memory of the recent past. There was just him and Lilia…

...It was a shame...that all good things had their end….

Rion gave out an agonising cry as a needle piercing migraine arose from nowhere. It picked at his brain at such a stabbing force, he couldn’t comprehend it till the pain started to fully set in.

“Rion what’s wrong!?”

What was going on? he was used to getting headaches from the over use of those PPEC’S drugs, but this was different, it didn’t come from all over his head, the prickly sensation came from only one certain part….like un cold ice…melting. He hissed as the pain increased tremendously.

“Rion!”

He fully understood now, the rising pain, the dizziness that was slowly progressing further. The blood vessel on his forehead wasn’t the only one to have burst open when he launched the virus….

And now, he was bleeding to death from inside his very own skull.

Through the haze of blinding pain, he saw Lilia had crawled to his side, all of her form shaking with panic, “Rion we need to get you to a hospital!” her words were nearly muted by the out of rhyme of his own heart going ballistic inside his chest. Lilia’s arms were going around him as she gript him tightly trying to help pull him up, but he refused to budge.

“N-No Lilia”

“B-But” her eyes were filled with hurt, so lost, so confused. She just couldn’t seem to understand how far up they were, how long it would take for them to climb down, the time it would take then to seek help.

It was time he didn’t have

Rion met his unblinking gaze with Lilia’s, his voice straining with the agony he was forced to endure, “They c-can’t help me now, Lilia” he said sternly, his vision bending and splitting double. The pain was becoming too much as the dizziness was taking over. No he couldn’t go, not this way, not like this.

“I’m, sorry” he whispered, barely able to hear him self even speak those very words.

The night broke out in all directions. No longer did he feel Lilia clinging to him crying, her voice a bleak echo, fading to nothing. It was all completely lost to him now, the pain subsiding in his head, and he was falling back...

Sinking into the darkness…

“Rion wake up! Come on please wake up!

No this can’t, it just can’t be, he couldn’t do this to her, after everything, no.

“Please Rion!!”

No matter how much she shook him, or begged for him to open his eyes, his body still remained as limp as a broken doll in her arms. He didn’t show a single sign of responding to her voice.

“RION WAKE UP! PLEASE!!

How could she be such a fool, she should have seen the signs that he needed medical attention. They could have already been out of the Mushroom tower by now, maybe even on the way to a hospital with Rion having at least a chance of survival.

Now there was nothing she could do, there was no way for her to carry him down the 150 floor building by herself on her frame, he was too heavy and she was too weak.

And if she could, by now he was fading fast, he probably only had a few minutes, ten or less at most.

“Rion” Lilia crock quietly. Her throat sore from shouting so loud at attempting to make him arise, to the point she could scream no longer and the rushing high winds were all that would answer her now. It was no good, nothing would bring him back to the waking world now. A dam crumbled down inside, and the solitude washed over her with an uncomforting cold chill. Whatever the outcome was tonight, Lilia was going to be leaving the Mushroom tower alone…

She eyes stung with salty water as leaned her face into the fabric of his thin zipper jacket, feeling the warmth underneath growing that much cooler by the minutes passing. And she was breaking down in tears, crying out with her soul for something to save him. She squeezed him so tightly, wishing that her warmth and life would flow from her into his freezing dying body, so he may live again. But she was just kidding herself

“I’m sorry….I’m so sorry” she cried sorrowfully. She barely could feel the rising and falling of his chest now, he was growing more and more cold. It was only a matter of time now.

It’s not fair! Why does this have to happen? Why can’t Rion be okay? It’s not right. I…I never even got to say goodbye!

There had to be something she could do, someway to help him, but what? How? She might have had Telepathy, but she certainly didn’t have healing powers, as much as she longed to this precise moment.

I wish I could just be with him...wait

It came to her. Of course! Why didn’t she think of it before? It wouldn’t do much sense in healing him, but at least she could be there for him. And…if she had a chance to do that, it was a decision she wanted to take.

Rubbing the stains from her cheeks, Lilia somehow found the strength within her to be strong at that moment and was able to pull herself together.

Her fingers traced along the cooling dry skin of Rion’s pained bloody face, his brows curved as his eyelids screwed more shut. Even in sleep he was not at peace.

I have to help him, it’s the only way

If she couldn’t aid him in the waking world, then she would go into his inner conscience, where his restless mind resided.

If he’s is going to die then….I want to make him happy, with what’s left.

Positioning him more comfortable in her arms, using her right arm as to pillow the back of Rion’s head, Lilia gently pressed her forehead against his own, unable to feel herself shiver by the feeling of still fresh blood soaking through her fringe onto her own skin. Or perhaps the shiver was something else, from being so close to his face, feeling of the breathes of air he gave out, his lips…

She mentally shook her head. No she couldn’t think like that, this really wasn’t the right situation to think of her dear friend that way, right now he was dying and he needed her.

I’m coming Rion, hold on just a little longer…

Studying his face for a final time, knowing this might be the very last time she’d see him alive in the land of awake, Lilia shut her eyes, and budged into the depths his mind.
