Notes on timeline: This takes place before the movie. Before Kate dates Pogue and Sarah even shows up.

Jenna and her sisters weren't what you would call popular. In fact they were the nerdy girls no one noticed last year. So this year they tried a new look and a new attitude and tried to be noticed. They had worked out all summer, toning and tanning. Generally making themselves look better for the coming school year. They were determined that their love lives would not reflect their last name.

The first week of school was mildly successful. At least they were noticed somewhat. Unfortunately it wasn't by the in crowd, the popular crowd. So the girls decide to try their luck at Nicky's that Friday night. They were all sitting around the table they had gotten. Watching the sea of bodies around them. The happy couples huddled close together, in short everyone having a good time but them.

The youngest Casey sighed wistfully. She had her eyes glued to the pool tables all night. Jenna looked where she was looking. It was obvious that she was watching one of the Ipswich boys. "This isn't working," said Laura. "I know the book said all we had to be was hot," said Tanya.

Jenna sighed, "well then maybe we should just forget the books and be bold" said Jenna. She was watching the youngest Ipswich boy walk up to the bar. Jenna stood up and walked towards the bar herself. She wasn't sure what she would say but she figured something was better than nothing.

The boy Tyler had his back to her and she could see his cell phone hung on his side. Jenna had a plan then and reached out and snagged the phone as he turned and bumped into another patron. She slid it quickly into her pocket. Ordered a chocolate shake and paid for it. Nicky handed it to her with a smile and headed back to the table.

"Yeah that was bold cheat on your diet Jenna," said Tanya. "Actually I got luckier than you think" said Jenna. She pulled the phone out of her pocket holding it so only her sisters could see it. "Whose is it?" said Casey. "Tyler's" said Jenna.

"Oh shit you stole his phone," said Laura Tanya smacked her arm reminding her to keep her voice down. "So what are you going to do with it?" asked Tanya. "Call his blond friend and see if I can get him to come over here but first," said Jenna.

She was holding it down and scrolling down the screen. She hit new entry on his contact list and as a last minute thought added Casey's cell number. "What are you doing sis?" said Casey. "Hopefully getting you a date little sis" said Jenna

Jenna was scrolling down the friends list on the phone and was about to hit dial on the one with Reid's picture next to it. When the guys started to be herded outside by an angry Aaron Abbot. Jenna sighed ok she would have to wait. "Well so much for that plan" said Tanya. She was watching as the rest of the Ipswich sons followed their friends outside. No doubt to help Reid out.

"Don't count it out yet, the plan can adapt" said Jenna. She stood up and headed for the door. Nicky came back in the door the boys had exited from swearing about teenagers. Jenna checked the signal on the phone, not enough bars. So she stepped just outside the back door to the alley. She was raising the phone to her ear and watching the enfolding argument between the sons.

Then Reid did something amazing and Jenna lowered the phone and stared in shock. Reid was levitating a barrel. The Caleb said something about him being a tough guy and egged the boy on. Reid made the barrel fly at him and Caleb deflected it with some sort of energy blast.

It was like watching something from one of her cousins comic books happen I real life. Caleb got angry with Reid and slammed him into a pile of beer bottles. The boy came up unharmed and shaking glass from his clothes. They yelled at each other some more and Reid started heading for the door and froze.

Jenna must have stepped out from the shadows to watch the fight. "Wow!" said Jenna in a breathless whisper. Caleb turned towards the door at the sound of her voice. Reid was frozen halfway to the stairs, staring at a red haired girl standing on the steps. "Oh shit!" said Pogue. Caleb just swallowed in nervousness. Reid was the only one with the sense to say anything "how long have you been standing there?" Reid asked. He sounded nervous and maybe a little bit scared.

The boys turned towards her with worried expressions on their faces. Jenna's mind put two and two together, coming up with a wicked plan. Here was their way to popularity all she had to do was play it right. "Oh since the whole, what was it you said 'bring it on tough guy' part" said Jenna. She leaned against the doorframe trying to be as nonchalant as she could.

Caleb looked scared if what she said was true then she had seen not only Reid use but him too. Tyler walked forward "please don't say anything," he said. Jenna smiled at him a wicked little half smile. She no longer needed the phone." Heads up baby face" she said tossing the phone to Tyler. He deftly caught it. "Don't worry I won't say anything, yet, see you boy's tomorrow night, oh and don't be late" said Jenna. "How will we know how to find you?" said Tyler. "Just look at your phone sweetie, your loss is everyone's gain" she said and vanished into the building.

"Or curse" said Reid. Tyler was looking at the phone in his hands. It was on the contact list screen and it showed he had 1 new contact. He scrolled and found a new number on the list. "Guys she left her number," said Tyler. "Did she happen to leave her name?" said Caleb. "No it just says, Hex," said Tyler. "Wait as in the Hex sisters, ah fuck," said Reid. "What who are they?" said Pogue "those nerdy little geeks that through off the grading curve last year" said Reid. "Great we're being blackmailed into a date with the school geek squad" said Pogue. "Yeah and this time its not all my fault" said Reid. Caleb glared at him "this is serious man, what if she talks?" said Caleb. "I don't know, but for now lets just go along with it," said Pogue. "Apparently we don't have a choice" said Tyler.
