Chapter Seventeen
Author’s Note: Well…it’s been fun to write this story and everything but now we are drawing this story to a close. I hope that you enjoy this and everything and thank you so much for reading and everything. So here it is…the last chapter of L is for Lover. (I know it’s a bit quick…I KNOW lol.).
Sab and L for the whole of next year did make love a handful of times, growing far more use to each other’s bodies and even tried two other positions. They simply basked in the love that they shared. There was a problem; L had to constantly work solving cases and that took a chunk of his time. He wasn’t able to spend time with the boys nor Sab for the better part of four months during one particular case. He wasn’t even allowed more than five minutes on the phone for his personal conversations for safety’s sake. But when he came back to the house, they all ambushed him.
It was at that point that the two wished to get married. They went to Watari and told him flat out of their intentions. Like many people put in Watari’s position, he was very wary of allowing a marriage. He was certainly happy that they were in love and wanted to commit, but marriage at such a young age was such a large step. He tried to caution them but they simply let their emotions rule them. They told him that they were very compatible and very smart in the first place and so it was not a mistake. They wanted him to trust their judgment and eventually he relented.
It was a very private wedding held on the tennis court of Wammy House in late summer. There were no pictures allowed except for one or two that L and Sab were going to keep on their person at all times. They were very simple in the ceremony, both wearing casual clothing along with all the other children of Wammy House. Watari was the one to witness and authorize their wedding certificate that was signed then and there.
From that day on they were married. They traveled the world to solve the most difficult cases together. They were un-stoppable and struck fear into hardened criminals every where. If should they ever miss the boys…they had special and secure phone lines and email so they could stay in touch.
(Present)
Now they had just solved the Kira case and just had to go and arrest their suspect Misa Misa. Tomorrow was the big arrest. Light Yagami had been a helpful intern and noted things that they did not see. He was showing great promise in the field of justice.
Sab and L were celebrating their success. Early they had been trying to make the other bend. L won this time and they were making love with far much more skill than they had when they first started. They finished panting and tired. They went to take a shower together before climbing into bed. It was going to be an interesting day tomorrow.
(The next day)
A whole group of S.W.A.T officers were sent to the current home of Misa and they broke the door down. They were told to not be nice about the arrest, to treat Misa as an armed suspect. L and Sab were following in a car behind and watched as they broke in.
There were screams and gun fire. The detectives opened up their doors and ran inside. There were the bodies of all the officers and a pile of dust with a notebook lying in the center.
“What happened?” Sab nudged L nervously.
“I’m not sure. Miss Misa will have to be our informant. The officers were all over this place so there was no way for her to escape.
Sure enough, after five minutes of looking around they found Misa, tears in her eyes. She said that she wasn’t crying for herself but for Rem who had pulled off all the officers’ helmets so she could kill them. Rem had died to save Misa, un-aware that there were even more authorities.
She was taken into custody but refused to testify so there was no finding out exactly what happened. They tried for over two month and yet only learned that the DEATH NOTE was her source of power. Misa was executed and then the notebook was locked away in a safe inside of the Japanese police headquarters.
They may never have learned the secret of the DEATH NOTE or anything else of Kira’s method of killing, but at least Kira was locked away and the world went about its business. The difference that the duo couldn’t help but notice that people still believed in Kira and that the whole arrest of Misa was a scapegoat. The world had become a better place simply for the fact that people were afraid and did their best to behave. It made the detective’s jobs far easier and life much more enjoyable.
They spent their many years of life together and died within two years of each other. Now don’t be sad. Gods of death say that humans go to nothing when they die and yet that is untrue. The death gods cannot see a human soul and so they assume nothingness was the next step for a human when they die. L and Sab had spent a fantastic life together and they were going to spend quite a few more over the next centuries. Reincarnation was their next step and they always had each other.
Author’s Note: I was in the process of writing this when suddenly I thought…what of Rem. I couldn’t have her kill my character or L so I had to fabricate a quick scenario to remedy that. I know that this chapter may not be the longest or anything but I would still appreciate feed back. Please no flames. And so this brings to conclusion L is for Lover. I thank each and every one of you who took the time to read this.
