Well, on with chapter one!
And, by the way, Hinata is 18 and the others are 19 and 20 Enjoy!
Chapter One:
Hinata had never imagined that her life would turn out, like it was beginning to right now.
She looked at herself in the mirror for a last time. She was paler then usual and her eyes were too big! She was scared!
It knocked on the door; she yelped and jumped, her heart pounding hard and fast in her chest.
“Y-yes?”
“Hinata-sama…?”
“Neji-niisan,” she sighed heavenly and smiled at him. She had lost the most of her stutter 2 years ago. It was then Sakura had confessed her feelings for Naruto, and they had begun dating.
“Uchiha want to speak to you,” he grunted and made a face between a growl and a pout.
“Send him in, will you?” she giggled and he walked out of her door in a slow tempo. After Sasuke had come back a few years earlier, he and Hinata had developed a kind of friendship. They talked with each other and he understood her in way, nobody else did. He was an amazing man.
When Sakura had turned him down – a bit ironic – they had became even closer friends. But never lovers and she liked that. She had seen how Kiba looked at her, and she felt hurt for hurting him.
“Hello Hinata,” Sasuke said, as he came into her room.
“Hello Sasuke-kun,” she smiled warmly and took another shirt out of her dresser, which she folded nicely and put down in her bag. He sat onto her bed and looked sceptical at her, a frown on his handsome face. She lifted an eyebrow.
“Are you okay? With all this, I mean,” he asked a bit worried.
“I... I don’t know. I don’t really know him, expect from the chuunin-exams.” And he didn’t make the best impression, she added silently, a shiver running through her body.
“I understand that, but… trust him, okay? Naruto does! Even though I’m not happy with you being alone with him, yet alone, marrying him!” he said with down turned mouth. She smiled at his concern for her.
Yes, she was marrying him, and yes, it was an arranged wedding, but… she couldn’t do anything about it! She could only hope he wouldn’t kill her. She shook her head and the dark thoughts left her.
She nodded to Sasuke, to show him, that she understood what he said and finished packing.
Then she said goodbye to Sasuke, for maybe the last time and hugged him, before she went aoutside, where her family was waiting.
“Take care of yourself, sister,” Hanabi said. Hinata hugged her little sister and could feel tears hit the back of her eyes. The Hyuuga sisters had become very close over the years.
“You too,” she whispered and stepped back.
Her father bowed his head slightly, the first show of respect from his side. She responded it with a bow of her own.
The she turned around and sat up on her horse. Her bag was behind her and a ninja beside her on her own horse. She should follow her to Suna’s gate.
“Be a good wife, Hinata,” her father said. “If you aren’t, our alliance could blow up!”
“Yes, I know, father. I will do my best.”
They rode in some time, before the desert came into their sight.
They stopped their horses and looked at it, then back at Konoha’s forest behind them.
“Can I say my honest meaning, Hyuuga-sama?” the ninja asked. Hinata nodded and looked at her.
“I can’t really understand how you can marry the Kazekage, and how you can leave Konoha; it’s your home, and it’s beautiful! The desert is just brown and boring,” she said.
“You’re probably right,” Hinata chuckled to the ninja’s big surprise. “But I do it for two reasons:
First of all, I do it because of the alliance. It will be good for Konoha and Suna, as well, as for my family. And I would like to play a role in the peace between our countries.
And for second reason? Myself!
I wanna change myself and I think this marriage can help me to be stronger. Or that’s what I hope on.”
She paused a bit, before she continued in a soft voice:
“Sasuke-kun told me to trust Gaara-sama, just as Naruto-kun does.
People can change, you know,” she ended with a small smile. The ninja looked at her, with respect in her brown eyes.
“You will be a good wife… and a good speaker,” she said and bowed her head. Hinata blushed and looked away.
“We should hurry, Hinata-sama, if we want to be there in the late afternoon.”
Hinata kicked her horse softly in it’s sides and followed her into the desert golden brown sand.
A/N: And that was the first chapter! Sorry if it is a bit short, I promise the next one will be longer look out for chapter two, which I’m already working on.
