I wrote this for a creative writing class. I don't own the Harry Potter world or it's characters. I just wanted people to see it before the 7th book came out.

LIVINGROOM-NIGHTTIME

Severous Snape and Draco Malfoy appear (apparate) into a room of Snape’s house. They both seem exhausted and worn. This was the night the Dark Mark appeared over Hogwarts. The professor ushers the young man to the couch.

Draco

I...I was so sure of myself. I went up to the top of the tower, and there he was weak and defenseless. I just couldn’t do it.

Severous

Calm yourself and tell me everything.

Draco
I followed the plan completely. You know how they all got in. I went up and sent the Dark Mark into the sky. That guaranteed that Dumbledore would go to that tower. He got up there, and he was so weak. He offered me a way out. He was willing to keep my mom and me safe. I wanted to take his offer but people came up. It was either kill or be killed. I’m just thankful you came along.

Severous
I understand.

Draco
What do you think he’ll do?

Severous

I’m not sure. The job was done, even if by the wrong person. It’s best not to keep him waiting.

Draco nods and slowly gets up.

Draco
Are you sure we just can’t hide? I don’t want to get to get cursed.

Severous

No matter where we’d go he’d find us.

Draco

That’s true

Severous

Remember to act humbly. Block your mind. We don’t want to get you into anymore trouble.

They prepare to apparate. Snape gives Draco a comforting gesture and they are gone.
