The next morning Henry walked over to the park, meeting Takato and Jeri. “Hey” he said,”Rika not here?” Takato looked up from what he was doing. ”No, haven’t seen her, why?” “Well, I called her last night but-“ Henry was cut off by the familiar voice of Rika. “Called who? Me?” said Rika, walking up. “Well, um yeah.” Said Henry, taken aback by her mood this morning. She sat down on a park bench. “So what happened? You all look like someone died.” She asked, Renamon appearing in the trees, “Rika, Ryo’s captured by a digimon that calls himself Myotismon’s servant.” Said Henry quietly. Rika’s eyes grew sharp, and she bolted upright. Henry knew this had hit her. Hard. “Well, are we going to the digital world to find him?” she said, voice mixing of anger, worry, and sadness. “Not yet.” Yamaki walked down the path towards the kids. “We have to figure out what happened first.” The teens looked at him, confused. “We know what happened, Mr. Yamaki, Ryo was captured in the digital world!” said Jeri, Clinging to Leomon. “Well, you see, ever since you rebooted the digital world, and limited the time and powers of evil digimon, D-reapers, specifically, copy D-reapers have been appearing. “Our records show that four days ago, one d-reaper appeared, and was in contact with one of us.” He turned to Rika. “Isn’t that right, Ms. Nonaka?” There was a collective gasp among the group. Rika? In contact with a D-reaper? Thought Henry, astonished.Rika sat there looking down at her feet, cold stare returning.

“Is there anything you’d like to share?” Yamaki said, trying to worm some sort of confession out of the girl. “Yeh. Sure. But not with you.” She stood up, and went to the shelter. Yamaki looked as Rika stormed off, “Was it something I said?”

Do you want to talk about anything?” asked Henry “I don’t know.,” answered Rika “Why?” “Because I don’t know what to do, or think anymore.” “What, what do you mean Rika?” “My whole week is now a disaster. First, that fight with my mom, so I had to live with my grandmother, and then, then” she stopped, wiping some tears from her eyes and looking at Henry. “Then what Rika?” “The whole Ryo thing happened..”

“You really want to know?” asked Rika “Well, this is what happened.”

-Flashback-

“Ryo!” Rika ran up to the boy and hugged him, “Rika!” exclaimed Ryo, hugging her back. “Promise you’ll be careful, please Ryo!” she begged, although she knew the boy would be fine. “Of course Rika, I’ll be fine!” she then looked her in the eyes. “But only if you come with me.”

“Ryo, you know I can’t…”

“Really?” Ryo took out his digivice “no choice.” a digital rope tied around her so she couldn’t move. “RENAMON!” she yelled, as the fox-like Digimon broke the rope and knocked Ryo down, while placing Rika down away from the deranged boy.

“Ryo, why-“

“Because Rika, I need you to help me control all the Digimon.”

“What? Ryo, what happened? You were so car-“

Rika got cut off by a white light that took Ryo into the digiworld, leaving her fearful and alone, except for Renamon.

-End of flashback-

No more shame

“But Henry, I don’t-“ she stopped, not wanting to continue.

“You don’t what?”

“I don’t want to be hurt again.” she said, the last of her tears falling.

“Rika,” Rika looked up at Henry, “I won’t let that happen.”

“Thanks Henry.” said Rika, standing up. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Henry nodded as she watched her go, her fox like Digimon following.

“Henry? Do you think she’ll be ok?” asked Terriermon, on his head.
