Kasek: Uh, yeah, my sister's back from college, and she's using the desktop that I use for writing for gaming... in exchange, I can use her laptop. Since I don't feel like restarting a chapter for another story, I'm just going to write this for general weirdness. It feels so much better in my head than it sounds. Honest! Ehehe... announcing a story of a lesser liked crossover-thing: Naruto/Pokemon! Yeah, I'm gonna get flamed for this one... oh, well. Disclaimer!

Disc: I don't own either Naruto or Pokemon.

Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Early Morning Madness

A thirteen-year old Naruto groaned as he heard another resounding 'boom' shake his apartment. It didn't quite register that explosions weren't quite natural, especially at four in the morning. Groggily getting out of bed, he looked out the window to see what was going on, only to see quite a frightening sight: the village was in flames, and these- these things of various shapes and sizes were rampaging the streets, accompanied by people in and black jumpsuits. Several ninja fought back- some having more success than others, some not succeeding at all. He would've thought it was a nightmare, but he knew that even he couldn't come up with something like this. He turned around when one of the monsters broke down his door and stepped into his room- he froze when he realized it was a nine-tailed fox! It was accompanied by one of the men in black- Naruto could see now that he had a big, red "R" on his chest, as well as on his hat. "Blond hair, blue eyes... alright, Ninetales! Hypnosis!" The beast's eyes started to glow, and Naruto could feel himself going back to sleep. He could only curse himself as he lost consciousness. He couldn't die here! He hadn't rescued Sasuke yet, let alone become Hokage!

Sakura was getting more and more worried as she cut down more and more of the monsters that were attacking the village. Questions formed themselves in her mind: what were these things? Where did they come from? Who were the men controlling them? She jumped to the side to avoid a stream of flames from some dog-thing after one of the men yelled, "Arcanine! Flamethrower!" She knew she had two advantages over them: one, the controllers had to give verbal commands to the creatures, allowing her to tell when they were going to attack; and two, the people themselves were not exactly trained warriors. As she was about to throw some kunai at the fire-dog thing- she guessed it was called an Arcanine, its owner yelled out, "Extremespeed!" In the blink of an eye, the creature was halfway between where it was and where it was going- to Sakura. In another blink, it was right in front of her. Before she could scream, however, a blur came from her left and kicked the creature in the side, sending it flying. Sakura was very grateful when she saw the familiar gray hair that was the signature of her sensei. He turned to her with his one normal eye.

"Are you alright, Sakura?"

"M-mostly. What's going on?"

Kakashi closed his eye, as if in thought, and when he opened it, he said the scariest words that Sakura had ever heard. "I... I don't know."

The man with the Arcanine put a hand up to his ear- probably had a comms device there- and turned to his comrades. "Alright, we got what we came for! Go to the rendezvous point! Go, go, go!" He hopped on his Arcanine and rode away, the other people retreating as well.

Sakura was confused. "Got what they came for? What does that mean?"
"I don't know, but it can't be good. I'll follow; you should stay behind and help the injured. I know you're a novice, but every hand helps."

Just as Sakura was about to agree, an ANBU showed up. "Kakashi-senpai! One of the creatures was seen carrying off Uzumaki!" Kakashi's eye widened, and Sakura changed her mind.

"Sensei! There's no way I'm staying behind now!" Kakashi nodded and turned to the ANBU. "Go inform Godaime. We'll go after them!"

"Yes, sir!" The ANBU immediately left to find Tsunade. Kakashi turned to Sakura. "Let's go!"

After tracking the invaders to the woods, Kakashi and Sakura found a large group of the invaders, and they saw Naruto being carried on the back of some nine-tailed fox creature. Sakura turned to Kakashi. "Why would they take Naruto?"

"That's the question, isn't it?" Sakura almost jumped out of her skin at the new voice. Turning around, she saw that it was only Shikamaru.

"Shikamaru? What are you doing here?"

"Same thing you are; trying to help Naruto. I have a feeling Kakashi here knows why they would take Naruto, but kill anyone else who got in their way. Both Shikamaru and Sakura turned to Kakashi. "Well?"

Kakashi sweatdropped. "I... can't say."

Shikamaru narrowed his eyes. "Nice wording. I'll take a wild guess. There's something sealed inside of Naruto, isn't there? Something that people would want for themselves, right?"

Kakashi's eye widened. "You always were a smart one. How'd you figure it out?"

"Back during the Chunin exams, Naruto mentioned that he had a 'real monster' inside of him when that Gaara guy claimed that he had a spirit sealed inside of his body. Something tells me that Naruto wasn't bluffing. It must be one doozy of a monster if these guys are after it."

Kakashi sighed. "So, then, you haven't figured out what exactly this monster is?"

Shikamaru looked at him questionably. "You mean there's a way to tell?"

Kakashi looked back at the soldiers down ahead of them. "Look, I'm not allowed to just tell you. If you really want to know, you can either just ask Naruto yourself when we rescue him, or you'll just have to think about it some more. For now, just think about the mission."

Sakura started zoning out. She remembered all those times when she was little when her mother would refuse to let her go near Naruto- she called him a little demon, a bad influence, and lots of things that she was told she couldn't repeat. She remembered how almost everyone in the entire village hated him. She almost started crying, but kept it together. After all, Naruto needed her (for once, she noted to herself)! "W-what do we do?"

Kakashi rolled his eye over to her. "Well, I doubt we'd be able to take them all at once. They don't seem to be too smart, so we should just follow them for now." As soon as he said that, however, something started to happen. The sky started darkening, and the wind started picking up. Soon, a yellow dot was visible in the clouds. It started enlarging, becoming a yellow-and-green swirling vortex. The wind started picking up, and the soldiers started mounting their creatures. After mounting, they all jumped torwards the vortex. After leaving the ground, they all seemed to be pulled towards it.

Sakura could only sit and stare. "W-what do we do?"

Shikamaru snorted. "My heart's saying 'go after them', but my brain is saying that that would be suicide."

Kakashi nodded. "There's probably more of them on the other side. Logic would say we stay here. But, if we don't go, we may never see them again. If we do go, we may never come back."

Sakura watched as the vortex started to shrink. Images flashed through her mind- an image of a young Naruto in tears, an image of herself in the Forest of Death, swearing to never stand by and watch helplessly as Naruto and Sasuke fought- and then she made her decision. Clenching her fists, Sakura stood up. The vortex started to shrink. "I'm going."

Shikamaru looked up at her. "You sure?" She nodded. Shikamaru stood up as well. "Fine. I'll go with you. Sheesh, Naruto is more trouble than he's worth."

Kakashi stood up as well. "Well, can't just let you two go by yourselves without a responsible adult around." With that, they leapt as one torwards the vortex. After leaving the treetops, they could feel the vortex pulling them torwards it, even as the borders of the swirling monster started to waver. They were pulled through just as several ANBU arrived to witness the sight.

As they fell through the vortex, Sakura narrowed her eyes in determination. Naruto... we're coming for you!

Kasek: Well, tell me if you like it. I probably won't update this for a while, but I might if circumstances prevent me from doing anything else. Well, please review and tell me about what I messed up. I'll try to update one of my other stories as soon as I can!
