Disclaimer - I don't own HSM, Troy, or Sharpay. I don't own the song 'I'd Lie' by Taylor Swift, either.

I don’t think that passenger seat
Has ever looked this good to me
He tells me about his night
And I count the colors in his eyes
He’ll never fall in love he swears
As he runs his fingers through his hair
I’m laughing cause I hope he's wrong
I don't think it ever crossed his mind
He tells a joke I fake a smile
That I know all his favorite songs
And..

Sharpay looked out into the crowd as she sang. She couldn’t see much because of the lights… but she could see one face. The only reason she was even singing this song. Troy Bolton.

As Sharpay sang, she remembered back to the day when she finally decided what song to sing for the Spring Talent Show.

-(flashback)-

Sharpay sat on the floor of her bedroom and skimmed through all of her CDs.

“Ugh, Troy. I’m never going to find a song to sing. I only have a week!”

Sharpay turned around and saw her best friend, Troy, reading a sheet of paper with a dazed look on his face. She jumped up onto the bed next to him and tried to read the paper, but Troy pulled it away from her.

“What are you reading?!” Sharpay demanded, playfully.

Once Troy was done he handed the paper to Sharpay. She read it and widened her eyes in shock as she realized what it was. It was the song she had written… about him.

“Did you write that?” Troy asked. Sharpay bit her lip and nodded, slowly. “My God, Shar… that’s amazing.”

Sharpay opened her mouth to say something but no sound came out. She was sure that Troy would know how she felt now. She mentioned his birthday in the song and she was the only one who knew that he played the guitar… how could he not?!

“What’s it called?”

“I’d Lie.”

Troy nodded. “You’re singing it at the talent show!”

“What?!” Sharpay screeched and stared at him with her mouth down. Is he going to say anything about the song?! Anything.

“Yeah,” Troy said and stood up, grabbing his ‘Wildcats’ basketball sweatshirt. “Now, you have to start practicing. You are going to win, because I don’t think anyone can take another year with Accordion Andrew and his monkey.”

Sharpay faked a smile at Troy’s joke. “Okay but…”

“I gotta go,” Troy said, cutting her off. “Late for din-din.”

And, much to Sharpay’s shock, he was gone.

-(end of flashback)-

I could tell you his favorite color's green
He loves to argue, born on the seventeenth
His sister's beautiful, he has his father’s eyes
And if you ask me if I love him,
I’d lie

He looks around the room
Innocently overlooks the truth
Shouldn’t a light go on?
Doesn’t he know that I’ve had him memorized for so long?
He sees everything black and white
Never let nobody see him cry
I don’t let nobody see me wishing he was mine

Snapping back into reality, Sharpay couldn’t help but think how dense Troy truly was to her feelings. He had read her song, which practically screamed out ‘I love you, Troy Bolton’ in it. Sharpay had dropped all of the hints, but he still didn’t notice her. There was something seriously wrong with that boy.

Now, all because of him, Sharpay was standing in front of the whole school singing the song that no one was supposed to ever hear. And he didn’t even know that it was about him. How she ever let Troy talk her into this, she didn’t know. All she knew is that she was a sucker for those blue eyes. God, she loved those eyes.

Sharpay starts thinking and realizes that Troy probably does know the songs about him. He probably does know that Sharpay loves him… and he’s just ignoring it. He doesn’t love her… and he doesn’t want to tell her that. He feels bad for her. That’s all he feels for her… pity.

Just thinking that, makes Sharpay tear up and an unnoticed tear rolls down her cheek. But one blue-eyed boy sees it.

I could tell you his favorite color's green
He loves to argue, born on the seventeenth
His sister's beautiful, he has his father’s eyes
And if you ask me if I love him,
I’d lie

He stands there then walks away
My god if I could only say
I’m holding every breath for you...

Troy stared at Sharpay as she sang. God, she looked amazing. Every time he hears her sing, especially this song, it’s like he’s falling in love all over again. He loves the feeling he gets when he watches her. But that feeling goes away as soon as he sees that single tear roll down her cheek.

Troy sighed. How could he be so stupid?! He knew the song was about him. Anyone could figure that out. The first time he read it, he was overjoyed. He couldn’t believe that Sharpay loved him back, but she did. And now he had probably messed it up. He waited to long, and he didn’t tell her right away.

Troy was sure that Sharpay thought he hated her and he felt sorry for her or something like that. He knew that she was probably heart broken and it was his entire fault.

He knew her too well.

He’d never tell you but he can play guitar
I think he can see through everything

But my heart
First thought when I wake up is
My god he’s beautiful
So I put on my make up
And pray for a miracle

Yes I could tell you his favorite color's green
He loves to argue oh and it kills me
His sisters beautiful he has his father’s eyes
And if you asked me if I love him
If you ask me if I love him
I’d lie

Sharpay smiled down at the crowd of students once she was done singing.

“Thank you.”

She walked off the stage and looked around, sighing. She was in the very beginning of the talent show, so now she had to go and sit in the auditorium and watch the rest of it. She really didn’t want to because she knew that she would have to face him. And Sharpay really wasn’t in the mood for that.

She walked out anyway and was halfway down the hall when someone ran up to her and pulled her into a giant hug. She recognized the touch.

Troy.

“You were amazing, Shar!” Troy exclaimed. “Really amazing!”

“Thanks,” Sharpay whispered. “I tried really hard.”

Troy nodded and held her tighter. He leaned down and whispered into her ear, “Do you love me?!”

Sharpay was shocked. “What?”

Troy pulled back and looked at her before repeating, “Do you love me?!”

“I… I uh,” Sharpay stammered. Troy just smiled.

“I’d lie, too.”

Sharpay looked up at him, confusion written across her face. Troy took a deep breath and leaned down placing a mind-blowing kiss on her lips. Sharpay was shocked at first, but then she immediately responded. A little bit later, Troy pulled back for air.

“I love you, Sharpay,” he said, breathing heavily.

Sharpay beamed at him. “I love you, too!”

“And I really like your song,” Troy said, smirking.

Sharpay giggled. “Well, I have written other songs.”

Troy just rolled his eyes playfully and kissed her again. Sharpay got exactly what she wanted in the end.

Troy Bolton.

I shouldn't have even written this. I should have been working on my new story, since I don't get that much time to work on any stories anymore. But I felt the need to write a cheesy one-shot. (:
