Disclaimer: I do not own the characters.

Summary: Elliot and Olivia spend one night together, and Olivia panics and backs away from Elliot all together. Then another man comes in and sweeps her off her feet, leaving Elliot extremely jealous and heart broken. Olivia struggles to decide whom it is that makes her happy. Hints of EO, maybe with an EO ending.

A/N: This will be a crossover with Raines, because I love that show! Don’t read this if you cannot stand Olivia not being with Elliot. Well, you could read the first chapter or so.

Spoilers: Set after Florida.

Olivia was relived; reviled to know that her brother was not a horrible person, but she didn’t feel relieved. Her insides were aching and her head was pounding, a steady throbbing that was driving her toward insanity. She couldn’t see straight, she could barely think straight. The beer she had been sipping was empty but she didn’t remember drinking the whole thing. How many had she had? She had not even bothered to count, and now she wished she had.

There was a gentle knock on her door and she stood up to open it, momentarily forgetting her strong desire to be left alone. She didn’t need to open the door to know it was Elliot—who else would come by at such a let hour?

Olivia stood in the doorway and looked at him for a few long moments then stepped towards him and kissed him. Elliot was taken by surprise and he quickly pulled away once he tasted the alcohol on her tongue.

“No, Liv, this isn’t right,” Elliot said. He had moved her into her apartment and shut the door, but he had not pulled away from Olivia’s grasp. She wasn’t listening to him—his words bounced around her head but didn’t stick—and she kissed him again.

“Yes it is, El, I need you,” Olivia said against his lips. He couldn’t say no, he didn’t want to say no. Her body was pressed against his and the alcohol had messed with his mind. He couldn’t think of anything but Olivia, and he wanted to know what her skin felt like. He soon got his wish.

Time seemed to fly by when their bodies were so close together. He remembered her lingering scent and then taste of her skin but not much else. Their bodies moved together and he guided her to her bedroom, pulling clothes from her body as he went.

Her skin was soft and inviting and as Elliot ran his fingers along her body he felt his head begin to clear. He wasn’t thinking straight, she wasn’t either, but he couldn’t force himself to stop. Her body was on top of his and she was running her tongue across his skin, he couldn’t have stopped even if he had wanted to. It felt so good, it felt so right.

Olivia opened her eyes then shut them as the light burned her eyes. Her head hurt and she didn’t feel like herself. She realized she was naked, and that there was someone next to her and panicked. Flashes of the previous night flashed before her eyes and she opened her eyes and looked at Elliot. She sighed, relived it wasn’t a stranger, and then the panic set in.

“El, get up,” Olivia said. He didn’t open his eyes, he just groaned and rolled over so his back was to her.

“Not now, Liv,” Elliot mumbled. She grinned and then put her hand on his shoulder, his warm skin felt good against hers, and shook his gently. Elliot sat up and looked at her, then down at his body and sighed heavily.

“We probably shouldn’t have done that,” Elliot pointed out. Olivia rolled her eyes and got out of bed, not bothering to put any clothes on as she walked to the bathroom.

“Stop looking at me like you haven’t seen me naked before,” Olivia said, looking over her shoulder at him.

“Maybe I should go?” Elliot said. He began to gather his clothes and pull them on, looking for Olivia as he went. She poked her head out of the bathroom and looked at him, her expression was too complicated to read. He was almost to the door when he stopped, and looked at the handle for a few moments.

“Are we going to do this again, or pretend it never happened?” Elliot asked her. He was met with a long silence and was about to leave when she came around the corner, wearing a towel and looked at him.

“It was a mistake, nothing more,” Olivia said. Her eyes contradicted her words and made Elliot want to kiss her, but he didn’t think she’d let him. Elliot nodded slowly and left her apartment.

SVU—SVU

There were times in life when you were happy, and glad to be where you were and who you were, and then there were the other times. When you were too angry and bitter at the world to love anything other than the bottle in your hand. Detective Michael Raines was in the time of the latter.

It was not as if his life was horrible. He liked his job, he had friends, he wasn’t bad looking, but life just sucked. Maybe it was his wife, Sarah, she was so beautiful. Why did he ever spend time away from her? He wished he could have been able to go back to then and made himself go home to her more often, but that couldn’t ever happen.

He sat on a plane in the middle seat and stared at the back of the seat in front of him. The young blonde next to him was talking about something; her cat, or her dog, maybe? But he was too busy thinking over why he was on the plane to New York. He didn’t really like big cities, so it wasn’t vacation. A gentle, nagging whisper in his ear reminded him it was for a case. Another woman dead, another woman raped and tortured.

People really sucked. He looked out past the window and blinked as his eyes settled upon his latest hallucination. She was not pretty than most girls, she was not skinnier or taller. She blended in easily with everyone else, until she had been found on a street corner with no pants and blood spilling from her fragile body.

The chatter of the blonde died as she finally realized he wasn’t listening and Michael closed his eyes as they began their descent.

She wasn’t speaking to him and he had tried to tell her she was overreacting. Olivia wouldn’t hear it.

“Stop it, El, your just making things worse,” Olivia snapped at him. Elliot hid his look of hurt as he scanned the people pouring from the airport.

“No, Liv, we were drunk shouldn’t that be enough?” Elliot countered. Olivia didn’t respond to him. A man was walking towards them. He was tall with dark hair speckled with gray. His face was gentle and years on the job had worn away at his easy grin.

“Detectives Benson and Stabler?” he asked them. “I’m detective Michael Raines.”
