Like a Little Man

Disclaimer: Ugh... I used up all the good disclaimers in the last fic! So... uh... I don't own anyone. Don't sue me. This is just fiction.
Authors Note: This is sequel to the original ending of "Think You're a Big Man?" the other sequel which is titled, "It Must Break Your Heart" will come a little later.
Shawn Michaels music hit and he made his way down the ramp. He was in wrestling gear for the first time in months. He'd spent most of his time in the back after he had won the WWE (and his manhood back) in a ladder match back at New Years Revolution. Now, technically he could've owned the WWE after that but, gave ownership over to Stephanie and Hunter. Speaking of Hunter... After Shawn posed in the ring he asked for a microphone. "Shh! I gots somethin' to tell ya!" The crowd was obviously excited to see Shawn back in the ring. "Yeah it's been a while since I've been in the ring. This is my triumphant return... again. And I could not think of a better opponent for my return than a GOOD friend of mine who's ready to make his return." He put the microphone down and took off his t-shirt.
Then a familiar chord was heard and the unmistakable growl, "TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!" Hunter appeared from behind the stage trying to keep his "game face" on but, he couldn't stop smiling. His rehabbing had been done for a couple of months but, he wanted to make sure he was in tip top shape for when he came back. He got up on the apron and spit water before climbing into the ring. Shawn came over and gave him a hug and welcomed him back.
The bell rang and the match started off slowly. A lot of counters, they knew each others movesets (and each other) well. Shawn eventually got in control of the match scoop slamming Hunter. He then went to the top rope to do the elbow drop and Hunter moved out of the way. Shawn got up and was Irish whipped into the ropes, Hunter caught him with a spinebuster. Then Shawn got up, PEDIGREE. Hunter got a three count.
The crowd cheered and started chanting, "welcome back" to both men. The referee raised Hunter's hand and he then walked over to help up Shawn and gave him a handshake and another hug.
Shawn raised his hand and the two walked to the back together. "Great match."
"Yeah you too."
"How's it feel to be back on the road?" Shawn had already started unwrapping the tape from his wrists.
Hunter picked up a nearby towel to wipe the sweat off of himself. "I think I'm gonna miss watching General Hospital everyday." He grabbed Shawn by the shoulders. "And damn it! Lucky just found out that Jason was the father of Liz's baby too!"
"Tivo it."
"Hey guys!" A familiar voice called and Rachel stepped between the both of them. "Look at you two." Rachel gave Hunter a huge hug. "You kicked ass out there tonight!" She heard Shawn clear his throat and turned to him. "You two Shawny."
"Thanks!" He smiled. "Me and Hunter are gonna go get showered and-"
"Hey!" Carlito came up to the group with his arm around Mickie. "You guys know why Bret wants us all in the ring at the end of the show?"
"What?"
"We got these memos saying that Bret wanted us in the ring tonight." Mickie handed Hunter a piece of paper. "What's weird is that only certain people got it."
Shawn looked at the paper and then at Hunter confused about the memo from the RAW Co-GM. "But, Bret's not here this week. He's up in Calgary for some Stampede shows. He won't be back for a couple of weeks."
"Maybe he's signing a couple of the kids from the promotion to come down here?" Hunter crumpled up the paper and threw it over his shoulder. "We didn't get the memo."
"Yes you did." Carlito's head turned after a referee tapped him on his shoulder. "That was on the DX dressing room door." He gave Mickie a kiss on the cheek. "I gotta go beat up Kenny Dykstra, I'll be back."
Edge passed Carlito and wished him good luck on his match. "Rachel, Rob is lookin' for ya." He adjusted his WWE Championship on his shoulder, now devoid of the spinner.
"Umm... Isn't Serena supposed to be with you?" Rachel noticed there was no little girl at his side.
Edge looked down next to him and smacked his head. "Shit! SERENA!"
"Ah, the brains of Terror Twins strikes again." Hunter chuckled and looked at the belt. "Nice to see the bling is gone."
"We better go get ready for the meeting or whatever it's bein' called." Shawn picked up his cell phone as soon as they made it to their dressing room. "Funny, he hasn't called me."
Stephanie was right behind Hunter. She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Hey hot stuff."
"Not now, Shawn is in the room."
"I doubt he'd mind. In fact he may wanna join in." Stephanie winked at Shawn as he just chuckled. "But, maybe this can wait until after we get yelled at by Bret."
"Oh so YOU know what's going on? I'm the Co-GM and I have no clue what's going on!"
"No I don't." Stephanie pried herself off of Hunter. "I thought you did."
"Somethin' weird is goin' on. Who else got that memo?" Hunter looked at Stephanie.
"Besides me, and you two... Um... Rachel, Rob and Edge, Mickie and Carlito. I think that's it." She looked to be deep in thought. "I'm a little suspicious."
Shawn was already down to his underwear before he went into the private bathroom. "Hey when were you gonna tell me that Rachel was gonna come back to RAW?"
"I figured you would've figured that out the moment you decided to come back." Hunter then noticed something was missing. "Where's Aurora?
"Ric's babysitting her tonight since he didn't have a match scheduled."
Shawn poked his head out of the bathroom. "And the Father of the Year is-"
"Shut up!" Hunter threw his knee pads at the door. "Hurry up so I can get in. You take forever."
"You could always join me." He flashed him a million dollar smile.
"I- um- uh-"
Stephanie put a hand to her mouth to stifle a laugh. "Wow. He's still teasing you."
Twenty minutes later Shawn stepped out of the bathroom fully dressed in jeans and a DX shirt. "I'm gonna go for a walk. I'll be back. It's all yours." He left their dressing room and started walking the halls greeting the other RAW superstars. Many of them congratulated him on his return and said it was a good match, even though he'd lost. He rounded a corner where he saw the current WWE Champion sitting on the floor cross legged looking eye to eye with an eight year old girl.
Edge was obviously having some sort of stimulating conversation with child. He looked astounded. "I don't understand how Rachel and Rob let you read this garbage."
"The Jungle is a classic. Don't be shocked. You know I have a high school reading level." Serena had his belt across her lap and was shinning it with a towel. "You're the only adult besides mom who doesn't treat me like a kid." Shawn backed up intrigued by the conversation.
"Your eight. I mean you're a highly intelligent-"
"I'm almost nine. I'll be nine in August."
"Right. You're a highly intelligent kid. But your still a kid. I have to remind myself of that sometimes."
Serena held up the belt to inspected it before handing it to him. "Being a child is over rated." She flipped her raven-black hair over her shoulders and handed Edge his belt.
"Did we not discuss this the other day when we were listening to that Dennis Leary song?"
"I'm not going to end up addicted to smack." She got up from the floor and brushed her pants off. "Don't tell me you'd rather be a kid again."
Edge shook his head and got up. "Hell no! I like being an adult. Being eight once was good enough for me." He picked up the child and put her on his shoulders. He looked over at Shawn standing in the hallway. "Do you mind?"
"Yeah this is private conversation." Serena stuck her tongue out at him.
Shawn reached up and ruffled the girls hair. "Short Stuff don't be in ANY hurry to grow up. Where's your brother at?"
"Hanging out with Sandy."
Edge's eyes went wide. "Sandman? Shit."
"We're gettin' ready to see what Bret wants. Meet you guys out in the ring." Shawn walked away and stopped by the catering table to pick up some carrots to munch on. He waited for Hunter and Stephanie before going down to the ring.
It was during commercial so some promos for the next pay-per-view and for some of the latest DVD releases were playing on the Titantron. The crowd had barely noticed the three sneaking into the ring. Carlito and Mickie were next and then Rob and Rachel carrying Michael. Edge was the last one out with Serena walking close behind him. He instructed her to go get a microphone for him and he addressed the small gathering in the ring. "Okay, someone has to know what's going on. Hunter? Stephanie?" They both shrugged. Edge looked at Shawn. "What about you?"
"I don't have clue."
And just then, some music that they hadn't heard in a while played. "No Chance in Hell" blared over the speakers as Vince McMahon stepped out onto the stage. "Well, hello there Edge, Shawn, Triple H..." He paused and glared for a second. "Stephanie."
Edge gulped and clutched his title belt nervously. Shawn stood there with his mouth hanging open while Hunter and Stephanie looked worried. The twins ended up hiding behind their parents and Carlito tightened his grip around Mickie.
Vince slowly started to walk down to the stage. "You all look a little worried to see me. You should be." He stopped halfway down the ramp. "At New Years Revolution you embarrassed me Shawn by letting Bret Hart and Rob Van Dam shove this magnificent face up your-"
"Whoa! Whoa!" Hunter interrupted the former chairman before he could get his rant going. "Vince, I don't know if you're getting forgetful in your old age but you don't own the WWE anymore. Me and Steph do. So I highly suggest that you turn your senile ass around and go back to the retirement home."
Vince just chuckled. "Triple H, you make me laugh. You and my daughter Stephanie may own the WWE now. But, soon you won't."
Hunter rolled his eyes but before he could say anything Rob tapped him on the shoulder. "Dude. Let us take care of this." Rachel rubbed her hands and followed her husband out of the ring. Both grabbed onto Vince and led him back up the ramp.
Edge leaned into Hunter's ear. "Something's up. He's not fighting them." Rachel and Rob were about to yank back the curtain and toss Vince backstage when two figures stepped out from behind it. They both dropped Vince and put their hands up as the female- Candice- aimed a wand at them. A male Randy helped Vince back up. "What the hell?" Edge put the microphone back up to his lips. "Wait a minute! Last time I saw you two you both looked a little different."
Candice held the wand and zapped the two Van Dams. Unlike the old wand she had used instead of a shower of sparks and light there was a large puff of black smoke.
"MOMMY! DADDY!" Michael started to run down the ramp but Shawn grabbed him and held him back. Serena latched onto Edge's leg and began biting her nails. Mickie and Carlito backed up against the ring.
Randy picked up the microphone that Vince had dropped on the ramp. "You see Edge, turns out the lady that made Candice's wand can reverse whatever spells are put on someone using the wand. And fortunately for us, you don't know where she is." Candice joined Randy's side and aimed her wand at the ring. Serena and Michael both grabbed onto Edge and pulled him towards the back of the ring as everyone else backed up. A large puff of black smoke engulfed the ring and caused the lights to flicker.
When the smoke cleared four small bodies were in the ring. Randy smirked and climbed into the ring eyeing the WWE Championship that was near the back. He bent over to pick it up when he came face to face with Edge who was kneeling outside the ring. "What the-" Edge grabbed him by the head and pulled him out of the ring and started to pummel him. Randy kicked him in the groin and started to run away but as soon as he turned around he was hit with some Sweet Chin music. Shawn promptly collapsed onto the floor.
In the ring the four bodies started to move. One was of a boy about eight, with long blonde hair. "Ow my head." He looked over at the body next to him, a girl his age.
She sat up and looked at the boy. "Hunter?"
"Stephanie?"
Edge was meanwhile checking on Shawn. "I'm about ready to retire. I can't take this shit any-" He looked the Heartbreak Kid over. He looked alright- actually he looked more than alright- he looked like he was in his early twenties. "Shawn? Wake up!" He smacked his face a few times. "Come on man wake up." He was so busy trying to wake him up that he didn't notice someone else sneaking up behind him with a chair. Shane smacked him with chair and Edge was out.
"Grab her!" Vince ordered Candice. She jumped into the ring and pulled Stephanie from Hunter's arms.
"STEPHANIE!" He went to chase after her only to get picked up by a recovering Randy who threw him into the stairs.
"HUNTER!" Stephanie was reaching for him as Candice ran up the ramp.
Carlito and Mickie were just staring up the ramp and at each other. "Well, there goes plans of asking you to marry me. Can we wait ten years?"
Michael and Serena had ran up the ramp to check on their parents. They were both looking themselves over and looked at their kids as they ran up the ramp.
Rachel hopped and still looked her own children over making sure they were okay. "So is everybody else like this?"
"Edge hopped out of the ring with us right before Candice zapped them. I think Shawn tried to get out too but it looks like he got hit a little bit." Serena pulled her arm away as Rob tried to check her for any bruises or anything. "Ugh! I'm fine!"
Michael did his best to not cry. "They took Aunt Stephanie."
Edge had finally gotten up and had Shawn sitting up against the ring. "Shawn? Shawn! You okay?"
His eyes fluttered open. "Yeah I'm okay. What happened?"
Edge looked into the ring. "Candice turned the others into little kids." He looked him over. "Looks like you got a little bit too."
Shawn tried to stand up and fell against the ring. He looked behind him in the ring and only saw Mickie and Carlito. "Where's Steph and Hunter?"
"I got knocked out. I don't know." Edge put his arm around Shawn and helped him around the other side of the ring. "Carlito, Mickie, let's go!" They stopped when they saw Hunter kneeling in front of the ring steps holding his head.
"Hunter?" Shawn broke away from Edge and kneeled down next to his now pint-sized DX partner. "You okay?"
He just wiped his eyes and looked away. "They took Stephanie." He looked up and a huge gash was on his right cheek.
Shawn went to pick him up. "Come on. Let's get you to the back."
"I CAN WALK!"
"Sorry!"
Edge slapped Shawn on the shoulder. "You have your cell phone on you Shawn?"
"Yeah why?"
"If they've got Stephanie, they'll probably go after Aurora. Call Ric and tell him to get the hell outta Dodge." Edge helped him up the ramp as Shawn got on his phone instructing Ric to meet them somewhere with the baby. Carlito and Mickie were right behind them as the twins helped their parents backstage. A small group had assembled in the back. Torrie and Maria took Mickie and Carlito back to the Diva's locker room.
Shawn picked Hunter up- much to his protest- and sat him on a crate. "Let me look at it! Stop bein' such a baby!"
"Oh shut the fuck up!"
Shawn smacked him on the arm and moved his head. "You're gonna need stitches."
"We need to find Stephanie."
"They're long gone by now. We'll find her trust me. Let's get you to the doctor." He helped him off the crate and he ran off. "Hey come back!"
Hunter ran as fast as he could trying not to bump into the other superstars that were around in the back. Then he managed to finally bump into someone and he fell backwards onto his ass. "Oh shit."
He was looking up at none other than John Cena. "Triple H. I just saw what happened up on the monitor. Tough luck buddy, you just came back tonight too." He reached down and picked him up by the collar. "Well, with Vince back in control looks like-" He stopped when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Looks like you're gonna put him down right now." Batista didn't remove his hand until John had both of Hunter's feet on the ground. "Now it looks like if you lay a finger on Hunter there it'll technically be child abuse. You wouldn't want to go jail would you Cena?" The former champ shook his head and moved forward. "Good. So why don't you just leave him alone and I won't kick your ass." John gulped and slowly turned to his right and ran off. He looked down at Hunter. "Nasty cut ya got there."
Shawn had just caught up to him. "Come on Hunt. We gotta get that looked at."
"I was on my way."
Batista stared at Shawn for a second. "Lookin' good Shawn."
"So I've been told." Shawn sighed and looked back at Edge. "I'll take care of this."
"I'll just get them out to the van and we'll meet you back at the hotel." Edge waited for the group around him to turn around towards the locker rooms. He headed off to the Van Dam's minivan.
Shawn led Hunter to the doctor to get stitches. The doctor more than a little shocked to see the both of them. "I was watching the show on the monitor and I didn't believe it-" He looked at Shawn first. "You look like you did when you first came to the WWE."
"So I've been told." Shawn backed up and pushed Hunter in front of him. "How about some stitches doc?"
The doctors eyes traveled to Hunter. "Get him up on the table." Shawn picked him up and placed him on the table while the doctor got ready.
"This fuckin' sucks." Hunter scowled at Shawn. "And don't even think about scolding me for my language."
"I wouldn't dream of it."
Meanwhile Edge was waiting out in the van in the parking garage. "You don't think- THEY know about us do you?"
Rachel was in the front passenger seat while the twins were in the second row, Rob sat in the back. She shrugged and put her feet up on the dash board. "I have no idea. This wouldn't be good for anybody's career now would it?"
"Well, there's one thing that certain."
"What's that?"
"I'm not gettin' laid for a while."
Rob let out a chuckle from the back. "I think we've get better things to worry about than that. Like what I'm gonna say to my parents when I finally decide to call them back."
"At least your family acknowledges you exist." Rachel slid down into the seat.
Edge fiddled with the radio. "So are we gonna go back to Michigan or what?"
"I'd rather go to the farm. It's quieter there." Rachel looked out the window to see Shawn walking up to the car talking on his cell phone while Hunter stayed a few steps behind touching the bandage on his cheek.
Shawn opened Rachel's door. "Hey." His attention then went to whoever he was talking to on the phone. "Seriously Becca I'm fine!" He tossed a couple of gym bags into the van. "Yeah. I really mean it. I feel fine. Carlito and Mickie are going back to the hotel with Torrie. Hunter's with me and Edge has Rob, Rachel and the kids." He rolled his eyes as he moved out of the way for Hunter to climb into the van. "I dunno." He looked at Edge. "You guys didn't have plans or anything?"
Edge looked at Rachel and shrugged. "If we did, they'd be illegal now."
"That's not what he meant."
"Oh!" Edge smirked. "We were probably gonna go to the farm right?"
"Rebecca wants everybody to come to our house." Shawn waited for a response. "Is that cool?"
Serena's eyes lit up. "Sleepover at Cam's!"
"I think that's a yes." Hunter chuckled from the back seat.
"They said yes. We gotta get goin' though. We have to meet Ric to get Aurora. Love you too. Bye." Shawn hung up the phone and started to climb into the back.
Rachel got out of the passengers seat. "Here you take it. Let the ADULTS sit in the front."
Shawn got into the passengers seat and flipped the mirror down. "HOLY SHIT!" He ignored the shocked faces of the others in the car and inspected his own. The lines that were on his face were gone, he messed with his hair a little bit to discover that the balding spot had disappeared. He turned around and looked at everyone in the back seat. "What do you think?"
Rachel leaned over the middle seat and looked at Shawn. She smiled before busting out with, "We're the Midnight Rockers."
Rob popped up next to her. "Shawn and Marty."
"We love to wrestle!"
"And we love to party!"
The ride was a quiet one. No one really said a word.
They met Ric at another hotel a few blocks away from the one they were staying at. Ric looked at the group of WWE Superstars turned 10-year-olds. "I'm seriously thinking of retiring."
Shawn took the small bundle in his arms while the others took the rest of the baby's things. "Yeah me too."
"Can I hold my daughter please?" Hunter stood next to Shawn with his arms crossed and tapping his foot. He took Aurora and struggled to hold the baby as they made their way back to the car.
Edge had just hung up his phone. "Torrie and Maria took Mickie and Carlito back to the hotel. They said that Vince has Nitro and Dykstra looking for us. So going to check out right now might not be such a good idea."
"Let's go anyway!" Serena hopped up next to Edge. "Let Michael and I go get your stuff."
"Can you carry it?" Hunter bounced Aurora on his lap.
"Can you?"
Hunter looked away. "That was hurtful."
"Give us your room keys and meet us in the parking garage in a half hour." Serena took the key cards from everyone and took her brother into the parking garage. In a half hour they came back and all the luggage was sitting there next to the tuckered out set of twins.
Rob took his ID out of his carryon bag. "Uh... I think flying is out of the question don't you?"
"It's only about an 18 hour drive to my house." Shawn noted. "I'll let Rebecca know." He began dialing his phone.
Hunter tapped Michael on the shoulder. "You guys didn't happen to run into Carlito and Mickie did you?" He just shook his head.
Edge slid down in the seat. "Do I have to drive the entire way?" He whined. "I need to sleep!"
"Well, seeing as how you're the only one who looks like they do on their drivers license I'd say you do." Rachel settled in her seat next to Rob. The twins had moved to the back row with them while Hunter occupied the middle row with Aurora now fast asleep in carseat.
Edge let out a moan and looked at Shawn over in the passengers seat. "So that's 17 hours and 59 minutes to go right?"
