It Must Break Your Heart

Shawn finally stopped running when he came to a creek near the edge of his property. He climbed over the bank and hopped out onto a large, flat rock that was in the middle of the trickling water. There he sat down and watched as the water flowed around him. He tried to figure out how he could still be pregnant after being turned back. What could've happened to the baby? Would it have ceased to exist?

Then Shawn thought back to Hunter's reaction back at the house. He didn't believe it, he thought it was a joke. Although... Who could blame him? A pregnant man?

Rebecca- he didn't even want to face her back at the house. She knew, hell a lot of people knew what had happened between him and Hunter. Shawn took a deep breath a choked back a sob. The first thought after that: she was going to file for divorce, take the kids, half his money and move away finding some other guy who wasn't a freak show in the process.

Shawn sat there for at least an hour. The sun had already gone down and a chill had settled in the air. Sure it was Texas but they had their forty degree nights too and tonight happened to be one of them. He threw his arms around himself and rubbed his arms a few times trying to keep warm. A jacket would've been nice to grab on the way out. He let out a long sigh watching his breath in the air. If he didn't get back soon he'd freeze to death.

As soon as he thought that a light shone in his face. "Shawn?" It was Hunter. "Shawn come on and get up here." He stood on top the bank still keeping the flashlight on him. When he didn't budge, Hunter turned off the flashlight, climbed down the bank and clumsily hopped over to the rock Shawn was sitting on. He kneeled down next to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Everybody's worried about you."

Shawn drew his knees into his chest. "Yeah?"

Hunter took his jacket off and put it around his shoulders. "Here, it's cold out. I don't want you gettin' sick."

"Thanks."

"I guess now would be a good time to talk." He sat down next to him and put his arm around him.

"Are you happy?"

"What?"

"I asked you if you were happy."

"Of course I'm happy. I'm gonna be a father again!" Hunter smiled even though he knew Shawn couldn't see it. "It's just weird- that your the mother." He waited for a response to Shawn. "You're waiting for me to tell you that it was a mistake and that you should get rid of it right?" He didn't give him a chance to answer. "Well, I'm not."

"How's Rebecca?"

"She's upset as is Stephanie. That's one of the reasons why I'm out here- besides lookin' for you."

"I'm sorry."

"Stop it!"

Shawn was still trembling even under the heavy coat. "My whole life as I know it is OVER."

"No it's not!"

"Yes it is! Think about this I can't wrestle anymore. Rebecca is gonna leave me." He looked over at Hunter. "I know it. She could barely accept what happened back before Survivor Series. So now I'm carrying the product of that."

"Product? You're sounding like Vince."

"Not funny."

Hunter got up and helped pull Shawn to his feet. "Neither is running around and climbing around in creeks when you have a fuckin' cast on."

"Sorry."

"You need to lighten up Shawn." Hunter began climbing up the bank, Shawn made it to the top first and pulled him up. "I guess we should make our way back to the house."

Shawn's shoulder's slumped. "I guess so."

Back at the house they were greeted by the trio of the Rob, Rachel and Edge sitting at the picnic table right outside the backdoor. Rachel had seen them coming and positioned herself so that they couldn't see what was going on. Edge and Rob leaned more towards the table. "Thank goodness you found him!"

"I though you said you've done this before." Rob said in a low voice.

Edge shushed him. "It's been a while okay? I haven't done this since me and my brother were teenagers."

"YOU BROKE IT AGAIN!"

"SHH!"

"Let me do it!"

Hunter peeked over Rachel's shoulder and saw Rob and Edge had a bag of something that was probably illegal and several unrolled cigars. "Uh... I don't think Shawn appreciates you bringing that around here."

Shawn noticed the contents on the table. "Uh- uh- no way!"

Rob rolled his eyes and huffed. "Told ya man! Shoulda let me roll it. We would've been blazin' by now!" He got up from the table. "Go get Carlito and Shelley, we'll go for a ride and burn one."

"I'm out!" Rachel stepped away from the table as Edge got up and ran towards the house. "You do it. No speedin'."

"I'll let Edge drive." Rob collected his things and ran towards the couples van as Edge, Alex Shelley, Mickie James, Carlito and the Hardys came bounding out of the house. "We'll be back in like a half hour!" He took off towards the van.

Shawn cringed as he saw Rebecca slam the back door shut. "She's really upset." He wiped some tears out of the corners of his eyes. "How am I gonna go in there and talk to her?"

"Looks like everyone is outta the house minus, Kliq members and kids so maybe get Kev, Scott and Kid to take the kids to get ice-cream and you four can have a talk." Rachel started walking towards the house. "Wait here until I get everybody out."

"Well, what are you gonna do?" Hunter asked.

"Mediate." Rachel shrugged. "What else can I do?" She opened the back door of the house and was greeted by the sight of a hysterical Rebecca and Stephanie trying to comfort her. Stephanie looked up at her and motioned for her to hurry and get through the kitchen before she was spotted. She ran into the living room where all the kids were. "Hey guys take the kids to the ice-cream store or something."

Kevin put Cameron up on his shoulders. "Come on kids! We're gettin' ice-cream!" The twins and Cheyenne bounded towards the front door. Kevin looked at Scott and Sean who were watching TV. "Scotty! Kid! Come on!"

Sean moaned. "I don't wanna go!"

Scott got up off the couch. "We don't have choice, let's go." He pulled a whining Sean Waltman out the door after Kevin and the small group of kids. Rachel took a deep breath and headed back into the kitchen once again sneaking past the sobbing Rebecca. She quietly opened the door and motioned for Hunter and Shawn to come in. They made their way into the kitchen and were promptly noticed.

Rebecca started smacking Shawn. "How could you-"

"Wait a minute Rebecca!" Rachel pulled her back. "You already knew that Shawn and Hunt slept with each other."

"But he got him pregnant! I didn't know that at the time!" Rebecca struggled in her grasp.

Stephanie helped Rachel hold her back. "Rebecca settle down and lets talk about this!"

"I'm done talking!" Rebecca got out their grasp and grabbed her car keys and a jacket. "I'm going to be back in two hours. You'd better be gone when I get here!" She walked out the back door and slammed the door.

Shawn stood there speechless with no emotion on his face. That is until he heard the Corvette that he'd bought Rebecca as a birthday present a couple of years ago start up and drive away. Then he collapsed to the floor holding back a sob.

Hunter tried to help him up. "Come on-"

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Shawn smacked him away. "I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY! I'M DIVORCED!" He charged out of the room and up the steps where he slammed his bedroom door.

Rachel sighed and looked at Stephanie and Hunter. "I'll be right back." She took off up the steps and tried to open the bedroom door but it was locked. "Shawny."

"Go away Rachel!"

"Open up Shawn." She jiggled the knob a few times.

"No!"

"Once last chance Shawn." Rachel started backing up. "Either you open the door or I will." When she didn't get a response she superkicked the door open busting the lock in the process. There she found Shawn sprawled out on the bed with his face in a pillow. She plopped down on the bed next to him. "Give her some time Shawn. She'll come to..."

Shawn lifted his head and looked at her with a tear stained face. "She'll come to what?"

"She'll come around okay? Rebecca just has to let this process." Rachel wiped the tears off of his face and moved some of his hair out of his face.

Shawn rolled over so that his back was facing her. "No she won't. Just give me ten minutes and then I can start packin' some of my stuff." He sniffed and coughed.

"You wanna stay at the farm with Rob, Edge and me?" Rachel offered.

"I'll just stay in a hotel room somewhere."

"No you won't!" Stephanie appeared in the doorway. She knelt next to the bed. "You can stay at the house in Connecticut. And you can stay there as long you want."

"Really?"

"Hunter's already packing up some of the stuff in your office." Stephanie smiled sweetly.

"You're okay with this?"

"Yes."

Shawn got up from the bed and bounded down the steps. At the bottom of the steps Hunter dropped a box of books and caught him in his arms before he reached the bottom. "Whoa! Slow down there! Don't want you fallin' down the steps!"

"Thank you." Shawn sobbed into shoulder.

Author's Note:
Yeah I just had to write this one. I haven't even started on the next chapter of "Like a Little Man" yet. :-P I'm goofy like that.
