This is the place where heroes lie
row by row and side by side.
For their blood they bought world peace,
a gleam of hope in their eternal sleep.

Markers tell how the brave men died,
so all will know how they fought and tried
to save their homes by winning;
who knew both sides wanted the same thing?

The two men behind the bloody war
knew all too well what the fighting was for;
a warning for future generations to heed:
War is cruel, peace is what humanity needs.

No diplomat's speech or treaty's endeavor
could bring the hearts of Earth and Space together.
And so these graves stand with cold stone;
a silent message, a soldier's last home.

Allies and enemies side by side,
each a reminder of humanity's hateful pride,
but from the dead they seem to say:
"We shall rise again on Christmas Eve Day."
