Of Warm Summer Rains and Flowing White Dresses

Don’t own Naruto.

Seven days until Summer.

Walls were for forever… Or so they thought.

She had been twirling, water flying in crescendos from her hair and onto the rich, wet earth. A dagger flew in one direction, a shuriken in the other.

A splinter, scarring the shining wall.

She drew a sword from her back, her dress cascading in the never-ending twirl. She fell into an unfamiliar stance.

A crack dangerously made it’s way through the exterior and deep into the center of the glass.

Enemies charged from all directions, something in his chest lurched toward her, but his mind ignored it.

The crack spider webbed, spreading along the once-smooth surface.

Blood joined the water still cascading from her angelic body. Crimson and diamond ran from her face and along her porcelain neck, staining her once-white gown.

A piece split from the rest, slowly sailing into the abyss.

She pulled her blade from the enemy’s neck, swiping it clean with a swift flick of the wrist.

More pieces followed the first, gradually increasing in size.

She looked toward him, an unfamiliar expression on her face. She frowned, something was different. Not wrong, just… Different.

The rest crumbled, leaving only rubble in it’s place.

She walked towards him, the same expression seemingly carved into her aestheticly wondrous face.

“Neji,” she whispered, not quite sure why she was doing so, “Neji?”

A flood of something vaguely nostalgic flowed from behind the broken wall, engulfing his heart.

He took her up into his arms, silently beckoning her to stay. She looked up into his iridescent orbs. She was right, something was different.

His heart lurched in a million directions all at once.

He, in turn looked down, his lips curving into the crescent of a smile.

It was not an unpleasant feeling. Quite the contrary; it felt like taking a breath after being under water for too long.

“I think...” His voice caught her attention, there were unfamiliar undertones, unfamiliar meanings to his words.

Yes, it felt very much like breathing indeed.

“I think that I love you.”

It was not his words that surprised her, but his actions. No sooner had the words left his mouth that his lips were pressed against hers, his tongue politely asking entrance into her mouth.

He did not know this, but something strikingly similar was happening to the woman opposite him.

She allowed him in; not only into her mouth, but into her heart as well. Years of doubt and refusal shattered away like the glass wall that it was.

Their hearts beat as one, the blood carrying the remaining shards of glass away, following the rest into the abyss.

They broke for breath, eyes shining with the beginning of something new.

“I think I love you, too.” Tenten said, dropping her sword and wrapping her arms around his neck.

No sooner had they parted then their lips met again.

They thought the walls they had built would last for forever, luckily, though, they were wrong.

A/N:

Warm days work in mysterious ways.

I hope Neji isn’t OOC…

I’m not good at writing him… Or Sasuke. Their characters are waaaay to confusing.

And I think that I used the word "aesthetic" wrong.

Anyways, wild dreams of warm summer rains and flowing white dresses are to blame.

One week until the beginning of summer.

June 1st.

REVIEW.

ADD TO C2s!

I’ve gotten a total of 1 review for my past two stories, and I’m getting depressed over here.
