Prologue:
"THE 'ROSE'S Star' Treasure?" questioned the infamous pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow. The dreadlocked man was listening intently to another pirate who sat beside him at one of the many bars at Tortuga. He was so caught up in the conversation of treasure that he hadn't even finished his bottle of rum yet (though, it was half full). One thing that the captain of the Black Pearl loved more than rum and woman was treasure. Especially, very strange kinds of streasures.
"Aye. The 'Rose's Star' Treasure. It's hidden and no one 'as ever found it, but I've been told it's glorious. The only pirate that 'as ever seen the treasure was the bloke that found 'nd hid the treasure." the other pirate informed. His hair was a dirty blond, extremely dirty and was tied back messy and his eyes were a very dark brown that they almost seemed black. Dirt covered him, but he seemed cleaner than most pirates. Also one small scar went across his right cheek.
Jack smirked inwardly. He was starting to like this treasure; this treasure that no one has ever found. "So where be this bloke?" he asked curiously, finally taking a sip of his rum.
"Dead, rest 'is soul."
"Oh. Ye knew him?"
"Nay, but from wha' I've 'eard, he was a great man. Too kindly for a pirate. Good cap'n 'nd pirate. Died young. 'ad a child 'nd a beautiful wife. Left alone."
Jack tried to sound concerned. "Oh. How sad. A true tragedy." he said, feigning a solemn voice. "Now, where can a chap find this treasure?"
"Well, like I said, no one 'as ever found it. Besides, ye need the key 'nd the map. Both hard to find."
"Do ye, perchance, know the location of either of those?"
Jack was starting to get a little frustrated. This man wasn't helping him at all anymore. He tells him of a hidden treasure, but can't help him at all. The brunet was starting to think the forming idea in his head to find the 'Rose's Star' Treasure was more than it was worth. Then again, the pirate did enjoy a good challenge.
"The map, no. The key, maybe. I've 'eard a young lass 'as the key." his fellow pirate admitted.
"Really now?" Jack perked up. The other male nodded, taking another of his alcohol. "Where might she be?"
"Last time me 'eard, she lived at Port Lunafort."
"Fanastic! Thanks, mate!"
Now, fired up that he had a lead, Jack got up from the bar counter. He chugged the last of his rum, placed his trusty hat on his head that was already covered by a bandana, and tossed the blond pirate three shillings. The blond thanked him gratefully with a raise of his bottle. Just nodding, Jack glanced around the tavern for someone of his crew. His dark brown, kohled eyes spotted his first-mate.
"Mr. Gibbs!" the captain called.
"Aye, Cap'n!" the balding man responded, his words slurring. No doubt drunk at this point.
"Gather the crew! We're leavin'!"
"... Uh, aye, Cap'n!" Mr. Gibbs answered, a little confused on why Jack wanted to leave so early. They only had made port at Tortuga that morning.
With that, Jack headed out of the tavern, regrettfully decline to a few women's offers. However, he had a smirk on his tanned face as he now a nice and glorious treasure waiting for him. That made him feel better and excited. All he had to do was the lass who owned the girl, find the treasure, and he was set. It shouldn't be too hard., thought Jack. A smirk still plastered.
Little did he know, the blond pirate in the bar was smirking as well. His dark eyes watched the Pearl's crew departing making his smirk increase. He finished his rum and stepped out of the tavern as well.
Finishing her knot, the woman stepped back to look at her work. The captain, who had a black and full beard and mustache, glowered at her.
"Ye will pay, missy." he growled. "Ye will regret messin' wit' pirates."
Scoffing, she brushed golden bangs from her face. "I highly doubt that, but I do pray them give you all a fair trial." she said in a emotionless voice. Her cold blue eyes bore into the captain's green ones. "If not, God help you."
Then, she turned away, her shoulder-length hair whipping around as did and walked off the pirate ship. The pirate captain watched her go with a perplexed expression.
The woman stepped onto the dock of Port Lunafort, her home and the port that she brought the pirates to. A bunch of Navy officers were waiting for at the top of the dock. Her mouth twitched, but made her way over to them. They saluted when she stood in front them.
"Ma'am!" one of the men said, waiting for instructions.
"They're on board. Clap irons on them, bring the captain to the Lord's estate, and take the rest to the jail house." the blonde woman ordered dully. "Have fun." She waved and headed into the town. A rusting, rounded, silver locket with stars and a rose engraved on it bounced around her neck bounced as she walked.
That was Aster Crescent; a Pirate Hunter.
