A/N: Okay, this is my second SasuSaku story, and this is mainly an experiment to see if I could pull of a darker style of writing, and I think it turned out quite nicely, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

The setting is during Shippuden, so this story will probably have spoilers for those who haven’t watched Shippuden, just a warning.

Also, the story will have some one sided KabuSaku (in a rather creepy way), and a fair amount of blood hence the T rating. (I almost made this M, but I don’t like writing M story material, so I toned it down from my original idea.)

Okay, that’s pretty much it. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto. That’s okay with me too, since I would never change anything about it anyway.

All You’ve Done

By Dark Magician Grrl

Sakura Haruno fought back bitter tears as she sat huddled against a thick moss covered tree, a cut on her cheek and a gash on her leg bleeding freely, covered in burses and scratches.

Only mere minutes before she had been engaged in a fierce battle Kabuto Yakushi, fighting for her very life.

She had been sent to the Sand Village on a diplomatic mission with Naruto Uzumaki and Kakashi Hatake, as they were all an equal squad now, despite Kakashi’s rank as a Jonin, her rank as a Chunin, and Naruto still ranking as a Genin.

On their way back home, however, they had all been attacked by sound nin, lead by that damn traitor Kabuto, and Sakura had gotten separated from Naruto and Kakashi in the struggle, and any attempts to find them so far had failed.

Now Kabuto was following Sakura, and he had been for two whole days, why he was following her she could only guess.

So far, every battle with him over the last two days had ended with both making a hasty retreat, needing to heal their wounds and rest up before their next round.

Sakura had dealt plenty of damage to Kabuto, as he had to her, but both being strong medical ninja, there were only unhealed scratches and burses that cause them lasting pain.

“I wish Kakashi sensei and Naruto were here.” Sakura whispered to herself. “I wish Sasuke were here.”

She felt that all too familiar pang of longing, loss, and love when she spoke Sasuke’s name.

Sasuke. Sasuke Uchiha.

Sakura hated him for leaving the village those three long years ago, for putting power before his friends, before her, yet she loved him as deeply as she ever had, and missed him terribly.

“Why?” She wondered aloud as she so often did when she was alone. “Why did you leave Sasuke? Weren’t we good enough for you? Wasn’t I good enough for you?”

“Obviously you weren’t.” A cold haunting voice behind the tree said.

Sakura barely managed to tumble away from the tree as it split clean in half down the middle, and she quickly leapt to her feet.

“I didn’t think you were so fast.” Kabuto remarked, smirking coldly.

Sakura glared at him. “Why are you following me?”

“Lord Orochimaru ordered me to kill you, little blossom.” Kabuto answered, giving Sakura a look she didn’t like.

“So why haven’t you?” Sakura demanded. “You could’ve killed me several times, but you didn’t.”

It was probably true, they both could most likely destroy each other, as they had both trained under a sanin for a time, so it puzzled her why Kabuto had not killed her, when he’d been ordered to do so.

“I’ve become attached to you, watching you fight desperately, watching you flee. I’ve thought I’d ask Lord Orochimaru if we could keep you to amuse us.” Kabuto said, coming closer, much too close, to Sakura.

Sakura stepped away, and bared her teeth in warning. “What the hell makes you think I’d let that happen to myself? I’m no man’s play thing.”

Kabuto chuckled, his eyes still fixed on her, full of lust. “Feisty huh? How Sasuke could not want someone as desirable as you is beyond me.”

‘It was different then, I was a love sick little girl when he left.’ Sakura thought, suppressing the urge to charge at Kabuto with everything she had left.

“Are you going to come or not?” Kabuto asked, giving her another lusty smirk. “No harm will come to you if you follow willingly, I swear.”

Sakura frowned.

Why in the world did she attract so much attention from men?

With Rock Lee and Naruto, she didn’t mind their attention, although it did get on her nerves sometimes, especially with Lee.

But they were her friends, maybe even her best friends after Ino Yamanaka, so it was never a big deal.

This on the other hand, was a disgusting pain in the ass.

“You can forget about me going at all!” Sakura roared, eyes blazing. “I’ll die before I go with you, you dirty bastard!”

Kabuto frowned, glaring at Sakura. “Fine, I guess you die then. Too bad, I would’ve liked to have seen the look on Sasuke’s face when you came back to our little hideout.”

“Shut the hell up!” Sakura snarled, building up chakra in her fist, before rushing forward, Kabuto also rushing forward to meet her.

But they never got to throw their punches; they didn’t even get within three feet of each other.

Someone dropped down from the trees and landed between the two, and both Sakura and Kabuto stopped in surprise.

Sakura surveyed the man who was staring at her, her not Kabuto, with no emotion, and a single tear threatened to fall from one of her green eyes.

“S- Sasuke…” She whispered, as that tear slid down her cheek.

Sasuke didn’t answer, but turned to look at Kabuto with cold fury in his eyes. “Leave her Kabuto. She belongs to me.”

“But Lord Orochimaru ordered-“ Kabuto started, looking on Sasuke with fear flickering in his eyes.

“I don’t care what Orochimaru ordered you to do. Her life is mine, I’ll fight her.” Sasuke snapped.

Kabuto glared at Sasuke before obediently stepping away. “Be sure to call if you need help.”

“That won’t be necessary.” Sasuke replied, turning back to Sakura, his Sharingan activated.

Sakura stood still, paralyzed with everything running through her head, unable to sort it out. “Sasuke…” She mentally scolded herself for becoming that weak little love sick girl again, a girl she promised herself she’d never be again, but she couldn’t help it.

“I suggest you get serious or you’ll die here and now.” Sasuke said, drawing his sword.

With that statement, something inside Sakura snapped, and she drew a kunai from the pouch her side pouch, and bared her teeth again, narrowing her eyes in anger.

“You don’t honestly think I’d let that happen do you!” She shouted, drawing another kunai and charging at Sasuke, rage driving her.

When she neared Sasuke, he dropped to the ground and did a sweeping kick in an attempt to trip her.

Sakura however, jumped over him, and tried to kick his face, which he dodged, and she landed behind him on her hands, and did a back flip to get to her feet.

Sasuke was almost instantly behind her, and she wasn’t quick enough to dodge his blow, though she avoided the worst of it.

Sakura cried out as his blade ripped through her shoulder, and blood trickled down her arm.

Sasuke grabbed her uninjured arm and spun her to face him, placing his sword against her neck, nicking her delicate pale skin so a thin red think appeared.

Sakura raised her free arm and placed the blade of her kunai against his neck, causing the tiniest bit of blood to flow down the knife.

They stood in silence for a minute, waiting for the other to do something, to finish the stand off.

But neither of the two did anything, and they just stared into the other’s eyes, searching for the answer as to why neither of them had taken any action.

“I don’t want to kill you Sasuke.” Sakura whispered.

Sasuke remained expressionless. “You’re a fool then.”

“Maybe so, but I’m also human, I have feelings.”

Sasuke pressed the blade a smallest bit harder against Sakura’s neck, but it was enough to cause more blood to flow. “And I’m not?”

“That’s for you to decide.” Sakura said, desperate to get Sasuke’s blade away from her, but refusing to act on it. “Sasuke, I love you, I still do. Don’t you remember all we’ve been through, that we were friends?”

Sasuke was silent.

“Well? What are you going to do?” Sakura asked. “As you said, my life is yours at the moment. All you’ve done has lead to this, so what’ll it be Sasuke?”

Sasuke remained silent, but something flickered in his eyes, some emotion he’d been hiding away, and Sakura knew what it was.

“Are you going to kill her or not Sasuke?” Kabuto asked coldly from where he was leaning against a tree, watching. “We don’t have all day.”

As quick as lightning, Sasuke took his blade away from Sakura’s neck, spun around, and hurled the sword at Kabuto.

Kabuto barely had time to move; yet while he managed to dodge the blade, he ran right into Sasuke’s trap.

Sakura closed her eyes and turned away quickly when she saw the kunai rain down on Kabuto from the trees, horrified by what she knew was coming for him.

Kabuto’s scream of terror turned into one of pain, then faded away, and Sakura felt warm blood splash onto the backs of her legs, and forced herself not to scream when she realized the blood wasn’t hers.

A long minute passed, and Sakura refused to turn or open her eyes, letting out a small whimper every few moments.

She heard footsteps behind her, then in front of her, and a pair of strong arms wrapped around her, held her tightly, and pulled her to a warm muscular chest.

Sakura finally opened her eyes, and gasped softly when she realized she was in Sasuke’s arms, and she could feel herself shaking all the more in his gasp. “Sa-Sasuke?”

“I’m… I’m sorry for all I’ve done Sakura…” He whispered, so quietly she could barely hear him.

Sakura’s eyes widened. She knew how hard it must be for the proud Uchiha to admit he was sorry. “Sasuke, I-“ She was cut off when Sasuke kissed her gently, yet firmly on her lips.

Sakura tensed for a moment, then closed her eyes and relaxed into the kiss, thankful Sasuke did not hint for anything more than a sweet contact, as it was her first kiss, and probably his as well.

Sasuke pulled away, and Sakura leaned against him, her eyes still closed.

“You shoulder… You should patch that up…” Sasuke said, pulling away and reaching into a side pouch of his own, pulling out a roll of bandages.

Sakura opened her eyes and blushed when Sasuke started wrapping the bandage around her wounded shoulder, gently tying it off, and placing his arms back around her. “It’s… it’s not that bad.”

Silence.

“Do you… are you going to come back home now?” Sakura asked. “We can help you kill Itachi, Naruto’s much stronger now and-“

“Yes to both questions.”

“Both questions?”

“The other one you didn’t ask.”

“Sasuke what-“

“You were going to ask if I love you. Don’t look so surprised, I knew you would ask. The answer is yes.”

Sakura felt her cheeks grow warm. “Sasuke, why did you-“

“Kill Kabuto instead of you? What you said, about being human, made me realize I wasn’t, not as long as I was them, and maybe I didn’t want to be. But you… you’ve always had this power to make me feel… human. Even if I didn’t want to.”

“Sasuke…” Sakura closed her eyes, as tears leaked out from under her eyelids, and she leaned against Sasuke again. “I’m so tired…”

Sasuke picked her up bridal style, and allowed her head to rest on his shoulder. “Then sleep. I’ll take you back to the village.”

“I was with Naruto and Kakashi sensei… They’re probably looking for me…” Sakura said wearily, eyes still closed.

“…Then I’ll find them.”

Sakura wanted to say more, after three years of separation, but was finding it hard to speak, as she was slipping slowly to sleep, feeling safe in Sasuke’s arms. “What will we do about Tsunade, she won’t-“

“Don’t worry, everything will work out.”

Sakura smiled, content for the first time in two long days, before falling asleep, to dream happily about the future.

Sasuke kissed the sleeping kunoichi in his arms softly, before jumping off into the trees, true to his word to find Naruto and Kakashi, knowing full well there would be tough times ahead for him, and for Sakura, because he knew she would stand by his side throughout the whole process of trying to make of for his betrayal.

But that’s why everything would be all right eventually, because she would be at his side.

And he couldn’t be more grateful for that.

The End

A/N: Okay, so the end wasn’t dark. I ended up straying back to my liking of happy endings.

Please review! No flames though if you please.

Thanks, and have a nice day!
