Author of 9 Stories

A/N- This whole story is for Aly the Trickster and the people who reviewed my Guilty Pleasure story and wanted it turned into a full-fledged story, not just a one-shot. I’m so glad you all reviewed and I’m glad I get an excuse to write! This may or may not be a lemon series; I haven’t decided yet. But, it will be filled with AnnaxYoh and AnnaxHao, so if you don’t like it, please don’t read and then flame me just because you can… I don’t like it when people flame others; especially not me…!

It was dark out and Anna was having trouble sleeping. For her, this wasn’t normal. She was always able to fall asleep relatively quickly, but tonight was different. She had this creeping feeling all week that someone was watching her, watching her every move, but she had ignored it, like most everything else in her life. However, now, it was stronger than ever. She couldn’t just ignore it anymore.

Sitting up in bed, Anna stole a glance towards the window, trying to see outside the confines of her room into the darkness. She had no luck, however, as she could see only a few feet outside her window. Everything else was shrouded in shadow. Anna sighed heavily and flopped backwards onto her bed, staring at the ceiling. This not being able to sleep business was getting annoying and Anna wanted it to stop. So, she rose from her bed and walked silently from her room. She snuck past Yoh’s room, being sure to be extra quiet just in case he was still awake; which she doubted but better safe than sorry, right?

Slipping a jacket over the summer nightgown she wore, Anna stepped ouside into the warm spring air. As she surveyed the area, nothing seemed amiss, but Anna was suspicious nonetheless. She began snooping around the inn grounds, trying to root out the source of her sleeplessness. As she bent down to examine a bush, a voice behind her startled her.

“It’s dangerous to be out this late at night, Anna. Someone could try to take advantage of a helpless girl like you.” Anna whirled around, finding herself face-to-face with Hao. Her eyes narrowed angrily as she shoved him away from her. Hao’s eyes shone with amusement as she growled at him. He smiled the smile she noticed that was almost identical to Yoh’s, only more sinister.

“What are you doing here Hao?” she growls, shifting her weight to be able to fight at any moment. She waited in tense silence as Hao seemingly ignored her question, provoking her temper. She managed to keep it leashed though, keeping her calm façade on her face. She was determined not to let Hao know he got under her skin sometimes. They stared each other down, Anna glaring and Hao smirking smugly down at her. Their contest was cut short, however, by a light being turned on in the inn.

“I’m here to see you,” Hao says, summoning the Spirit of Fire, “But, I see my otouto is deciding to cut our meeting short. When I return next time, I’ll be here to more than just look.” With that, he leaped onto the Spirit of Fire and was gone in an instant. Yoh’s voice sounded from the inn, dragging Anna’s attention back to him.

“What’s wrong Anna?” he asks, squinting into the darkness, “Is something out there?” Anna sighs, not wanting to tell him.

“Nothing is wrong Yoh,” she says, walking back towards the inn, “I just needed some fresh air is all. I’ll be back upstairs in a minute.” Yoh smiled and shut the window he was leaning out of, turning off the light. Anna stopped in the doorway to the inn, taking a deep breath to try and calm her nerves.

“I’ll be back for you Anna,” Hao’s voice whispers in the wind, making Anna shiver, “I’ll be back. I promise.” Anna quickly shut the door behind her and climbed the stairs to her room. She knew she wouldn’t be getting sleep anytime soon…

A/N- How was it? Is it good enough to be the prologue for Guilty Pleasure? Don’t worry, if you don’t like it, I promise that the actual story will be much better, but this is all I can do for now. Oh, and this is making up for the missed update on Saturday. I’ll post the next chapter of Guilty Pleasures as soon as I can! Okay? Okay!! See you when I see you!
