EXPLOSIVE SECRETS
Chapter One: Only in Vegas
Night falls on the city of Las Vegas as Charles Devlin walks into a hotel lobby, carrying a silver briefcase. Placing it by reception he turns and stares around as if looking for something. Leaving the briefcase behind, MR Devlin walks out of the hotel and gets into a sleek black Mercedes. It takes off into the night, not even leaving a single tire tread behind.
Several hours later CSI Las Vegas are called to a city hotel where a bomb had destroyed the lobby and killed several people. Press gather round the entrance, waiting for the CSI’s to arrive. The hotel is the fourth target this month. One thing is for certain, it’s going to be a long night for the CSI’s of Las Vegas…
Grissom and his team were surrounding a large table in the layout room when they received the call for the bombing. The table in front of them is covered in the evidence and photos from the last three bombings, the link between the three not found.
Griss answered his cell and had a short conversation with the officer at the other end before hanging up and briefing his team. They had another crime scene to analyse, but someone still had to stay behind and continue to go through the evidence of the other cases.
Greg volunteered to stay behind, he waved briefly to the others before becoming fixated on the evidence again. A cup of coffee sat on the table, sleep wasn’t an option, even after a triple shift. Time passed without Greg even noticing as he sifted through the evidence, trying to find the elusive link. Before he knew it the rest of the team had been gone for two hours and a nervous security guard tapped on the door of the layout room.
At Crime Lab reception, a young man was making a scene over a package he was delivering. Demanding it to be sent straight to Grissoms office, he was yelling that it didn’t need to go through the screening process when Greg arrived. Explaining that no harm would come to it, Greg prised the package out of the distressed mans hands and gave it to the security guard.
The guard had only walked a few steps before the package exploded, sending shards of glass and debris flying in all directions and killing the security guard instantly. The force of the explosion knocked Greg of his feet, he collided with the receptionist desk with enough force to make it topple over and fall on top of him…
Oooooo.
Hope you liked that Chapter, sorry its quite short, I have a feeling all the chapters of this one will be about that length…
Please Review, they help me write myself out of the lovely corners I mange to get into….
