Summary: A Pikachu named Dante goes on a quest to become a legendary Pokemon, but is the risk too much for Dante to take? Based on a true story except for the parts I made up.
Chapter: Meeting Grounds
Chapter Summary: A lost Pikachu struggles to find a purpose, calling out to the Pokemon Gods to help it.

A Pikachu staggered throughout Viridian City, abandoned. His trainer left him all alone, in pursuit of stronger Pokemon. The Pikachu closed it's eyes, to try to recall the last few days.

"I'm sorry Dante." said the trainer. "I've decided to become a legendary trainer, and I could only do that by training only legendary Pokemon"

"Pi?" asked Pikachu, apparently nicknamed Dante.

"Well, this is where we first met Dante." said the Pokemon trainer. "So... you're free now"

And with that, the trainer got on his bike and left, peddling quickly through Viridian Forest.

Dante was then left all alone, to fend for itself in Viridian Forest.

Dante was used to having a trainer. Being suddenly exposed to the wild was confusing. Dante still had his instincts, but it was used to getting Pokeblocks and Poffin. Dante would now have to find it's own food. Needless to say, it didn't go very well. After three days of wandering in the woods, it arrived at Viridian City.

And so, there he stood, dirty, desheveled and hungry. He tried to get to the nearest Pokemon Center, remembering how he was taken there whenever he got sick. Those Weedles stings were really hurting now, and they began to look infected.

Dante believe if he made it to the Pokemon center, he could somehow survive. He closed his eyes, and called out to the only thing he ever believed in. When Dante was just a Pichu, his mother told him stories about the Pokemon Gods. The legendary Pokemon that inhabited the world, and how they sometimes helped Pokemon in need. Dante was abandoned by his trainer, so it seemed the only comfort he could get now was from the legendary Pokemon.

"Pika!" called out Dante, closing his eyes. He would bring the Pokemon Gods down to Earth itself if he had to.

Dante opened his eyes, and saw himself in a white hall. Suddenly, he realized where he was. Dante was surrounded by legendary Pokemon, on all sides. Dante was surprised, at the site of all these Pokemon. They were all extremely powerful, able to defy the very limits of what it means to be a Pokemon.

"What is it that you want young one?" asked Arceus.

Dante was taken aback by the question. All Dante wanted was to belong to his trainer. His trainer abandoned him in pursuit of legendary Pokemon, so there seemed to be only one request Dante could possibly want.

Withou too much thought, Dante blurted out: "Pi ka pi pi cha pikachupi Pikachu"

The legendary Pokemon looked at each other, and let out a great laugh.

"Young Pikachu, why do you want to become a legendary Pokemon?" asked Mew, a surprised tone in it's voice.

"Pi pika kapichu pi chu chu cha pikachupi Pikachu." said Dante.

"So, this is about a trainer?" asked Ho-Oh.

"You're serious?" asked Mewtwo. "The road to becoming an invincible all mighty Pokemon is long and difficult. It's not just something you decide on a whim. You have to want it, and be willing to fight for it."

Dante though for a moment, "Pi ka chu."

"Very well. You know what you have to do." said Ho-Oh.

"Pi?" said Dante, a confused tone in it's voice.

"You're joking right?" said Lugia.

The legendary Pokemon looked at one other.

"Pi ka pi ka pi ka chu?" asked Dante

"Well, all legendary Pokemon are one-of-a-kind." started Celebi. "There are hundreds of thousands of Pikachus in the world, so there's only one way for you to become one-of-a-kind."

"Pi chu..." said Dante, hoping Celebi would continue.

"In order to become legendary, you must kill your entire species." said Arceus.

"Pi ka!" shouted Dante, taken aback by these words. Dante killed only one Pokemon before, a Meowth that got in it's way a lot, but even then, it was an accident.

"You must also get rid of any of your pre-evolutions and evolutions, which in your case means get rid of any Raichus and Pichus too." said Jirachi.

Dante looked overwhelmed. Maybe legendary status was too big of task to take care of on his own.

"Still up to it?" asked Deoxys.

These words seemed to charge up Dante. It was a phrase his old trainer used to use, after describing the next thing they would have to do. "Pi!" said Dante, eagerly.

He agreed to their challenge. Dante would show everyone what he could do. Dante would become a legendary Pokemon, and show everyone his true strength. The room suddenly began to dissappear, and Dante woke up in the intensive care unit of the Viridian City Pokemon Center.
