Yami shrugged aimlessly, crossing his legs and leaning back on his hands... the very picture of ease. 'You know,' he pressed with a little grin. 'The test you REALLY want to try. Go ahead. It wasn't that he hadn't noticed before, it was simply that he'd never given it any serious consideration. But it made sense, he supposed: Yami was an ancient Egyptian spirit busy possessing his body—there was no reason why he'd have his own clothes.
From his place on Yugi's bed, Yami shot his other half a questioning glance, an eyebrow cocked and his lips pursed. …is that all together necessary, aibou? He asked flatly, sounding torn between amusement and irritation. His foot tapped soundlessly against the bedroom floor.
Yugi—who had been pulling the same bracelet on and off his arm again for over fifteen minutes—froze in place… though his eyes remained on Yami's own arm. It was really a bit disconcerting: when the jewelry was on him, it appeared on Yami. When he tugged it off, it vanished. Simple, never faltering, still sort of bizarre when he thought about it.
"Sorry, pharaoh," the smaller boy offered with a smile, throwing the bracelet away and rubbing apologetically at the back of his neck. "I just… couldn't help it. It's so weird to be the one to take off your cloth—"
What was he saying?!
Yugi's face flamed, his hands leaping to cover his blabbering mouth. Okay, I did not mean for it to come out like that! he mentally wailed. Wonderful Yugi, way to let him know where your mind has bee—
I can hear your thoughts, Yami's voice interrupted; Yugi's scarlet features turned a pasty white. There was no question about it this time: the pharaoh was clearly amused. Resting his chin in the center of his palm, the young man's lips curled into a wide grin. You do remember that, right?
Er… The younger boy cleared his throat, coughed loudly into a hand, and turned away. "Um," he squeaked, twiddling his thumbs in embarrassment, "s-sorry, about that, Yami, I don't know what came ov—!"
If you're still in the mood for experimentation, you can try it.
Yugi's back stiffened, his fists clenched, his heart all but exploded—the echo of each deafening beat pounded in his delicate ears. He shot the apparition a stunned look from over his shoulder. "P- pardon…?"
Yami shrugged aimlessly, crossing his legs and leaning back on his hands: the very picture of ease. You know. The test you really want to try. I don't mind.
Utter silence… both in the room and in the boy's head. For a moment, the pharaoh wondered if his light might combust; his cheeks was certainly red enough. But no: in an instant, the flush had faded away, leaving Yugi in a position of shocking calmness beneath the skylight. For a full minute, neither spoke… neither moved.
Then— to the surprise of them both, it seemed— Yugi lifted his hands…
And his clothes went flying everywhere.
Whatdya know… A bare Yugi blinked, torn between awkwardness and thrill. An equally bare Yami stared coolly back at him, legs and arms crossed and a small smirk on his face. It worked.
