CHAPTER 3
The halls of Chilton were all empty and deserted. I ran with all my might to first period bypassing my locker. My mother just had to make a pit stop at Luke’s. It had been so long since I had been to Luke’s. I almost hugged him when I saw him. He looked the same as always backwards baseball cap and flannel shirt.
Quickly, I darted in to first hour just as the bell rang. “Miss Gilmore,” my teacher greeted. I smiled in response and took a seat in the back of the class by the window.
“Mr. Dugrey. Better late than never I see.”
I couldn’t believe my eyes it was Tristan. My heart ached at the sight of him. It had been so long since I had seen him. We had become friends when I was dating Logan. We had become so close in such I short time, but then….
“Mary….Mary….”
Tristan was now seated behind me and was looking me up and down. I blushed slightly and turned around trying to concentrate on the class proceeding before us. Tristan leaned forward sending chills up my spine.
“Don’t blush Mary, your hot.” My cheeks instantly turned red and I cursed myself. Tristan always had that effect on me. I tried to avert my thoughts. Tristan didn’t get out of military school until after senior year. So why was he here?
“Did you miss me, Mary?” he breathed into my ear. I turned.
“I thought you didn’t get out of military school for another year.”
Tristan gave me a weird look, but quickly recovered.
“Why did you miss me?” he said smirking. I rolled my eyes turning back around. He was cocky as ever. Going back to my notes, I tried not to think about Tristan. Soon the dismal bell rang.
Tristan leaned over again and whispered, “I missed you, Mary.”
Suddenly, all the memories came back to me, one by one.
Flashbacks
“Mary, I missed you,” Tristan moaned.
“Tristan, don’t leave me,” I said kissing him passionately.
“Mary…” he groaned.
“Tristan, don’t leave.”
Tristan pulled away from me. “Mary, you’re with him.”
“But I love you, Tristan,” I cried.
“Mary…”
Tristan took me in his arms and kiss me gently, wiping away my tears.
“Tristan, I love you.”
“I know…I know…”
“Rory, marry me?”
Tears filled my eyes, “Logan, I can’t.”
“What? Why? Ace? I love you.”
“Logan, I don’t love you.
“What since when?”
“Things changed.”
“Hello?”
“This is Rory Gilmore”
“Yes...”
“What?”
“Is she okay?”
“What?”
“No!”
“No…”
“Rory! Rory! Oh my god, Rory! We need to get you to the hospital! Rory you’re bleeding everywhere. Rory, why?”
“Logan, I miss her.”
“I know Rory, I know.”
