Tonks eyed herself in the mirror critically, pouting as the voice in every woman’s head gnawed at her, telling her she could look better.

She had a short moment of self-pity, before shaking it out confidently.

She looked fine, beautiful even…Shame a certain someone wasn’t there to appreciate the fact…

Our favourite Metamorphmagus had her hair morphed into a deep, blood red, and her dress was midnight black with sparkling onyxes.

Her eyes were a piercing violet, and her lips a ruby red, her skin was also deathly pale.

But her favourite part of her costume was her teeth, because she had morphed two to become deadly sharp.

The perfect Halloween costume, she thought, a vampire.

Suddenly, Fred walked into her room and she yelped in surprise, before turning to glare at the grinning red-head.

“You could have at least knocked,” she scolded. “I may not have been decent.”

He shrugged, “but you weren’t, unfortunately.”

He was rewarded by a sharp slap over the back of his head.

Fred raised his hands in defeat as she continued glaring, “You look lovely, by the way, very scary, and very sexy. Only you could pull that off.” He winked.

Tonks rolled her eyes. “You look pretty alright yourself.”

Now, that was a bit of an understatement, she thought reluctantly, in fact…if she wasn’t head over heels in love with Remus…

He was dressed up as one of his favourite muggle characters, Faramir from Lord of the Rings, complete with Tunic, bows and arrows, and a short sword.

“Do you know what Annie is wearing?” She asked curiously.

Fred nodded enthusiastically. “Uh-huh! We chose out our costumes together! She’s going as Eowyn! She’s wearing a realllllly pretty green dress! At least, I think it’s pretty, she wouldn’t let me see it on her, but…I know what colour it is!”

She stared blankly at him. “Fred…did someone give you coffee?”

His only response was another nod, and he literally bounced out of her room.

She shook her head. “Poor, poor, poor Mrs. Weasley.”

--

Boring, Tonks summed up. Really, boringly boring. She had seen better parties in her time.

She had lost track of anyone interesting, Fred and Annie were off doing something highly inappropriate for professors to do in front of students in the corner.

Ah! Finally! She caught sight of the Marauders, each of whom had a date (‘cept, ya know, for Peter).

James, naturally, had Lily’s hand tucked firmly in his.

Sirius had a bouncy brunette on his arm…Kari, if she recalled correctly, who looked completely ecstatic to be in the presence of Sirius. To be fair, Sirius looked equally as ecstatic to be with her.

Remus, Tonks winced, had quite possibly the most boring female in the school attached to his arm, and he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here.

Tonks looked longingly at him, he looked up and smile shyly at her.

Peter waved cheerfully at the red-haired vampire.

Tonks backed away quietly…Well, not really, but she wanted to.

Remus came shuffling over, pulling along his date.

“Er…hello, Tonks, have you met Louise?” He gave her a ‘help me’ look.

Tonks forced a smile. “Um, no, unfortunately. You’re in the year below Remus, aren’t you, Louise?”

Louise nodded slowly.

“Uh-huh, well, listen, I was wondering if you could give Remus and I a few minutes alone, for, er, you know, Teacher-y stuff,” Louise looked suspiciously between the pair, Tonks added quickly, “it looks like Stewie over there has lost track of his date, why don’t you go keep him company?”

Louise turned to look at the most boring male in school, and her face lit up.

“Uh, bye Remus! Professor!” She bounded off towards her moping object of affection.

Remus shook his head silently. “Completely nutters,” he mumbled.

Tonks snorted in agreement.

He looked up to her cheerful face. “Thanks a lot, Tonks, for doing that…”

She winked at him. “No problem, couldn’t have my favourite student be borederalised to death, now could I?”

He over looked the horror that was Tonks’ English for the fact she had called him her favourite student. Squeeeee! He would have giggled, but…no.

His was about to continue the conversation when the great hall doors swung open again.

The hall went silent. “Whoa,” Sirius called, “De ja…ah, just forget it.”

He went to sulk in a corner, mumbling something about clichés.

Tonks almost choked as she looked upon the figure standing in the doorway.

From the other side of the hall, she heard Fred call out, “Why, dear Professor-kins, fancy meeting you here!”

The figure took a tentative step forward, before calling out quietly, “Tonks?”

Tonks hair turned a brilliant pink.

“THANK GOD!” She screamed, as she started running toward him.

Her Remmy.

Her Remmy had come to Hogwarts.
