Author's Note: Keeping in mind that I have not written a Pirates of the Caribbean fiction in a long time... several of the characters might be slightly out of character and I apologize for that in advance, but they will improve as I keep writing - and never fear Will Turner fans, he will be included in this story, but it does revolve around Elizabeth and their son more than he... Thank you!

Chapter One
Just A Few More Years

“Mama?”

Elizabeth stood at the sink of her kitchen, of her small house in Dover, England. Aye, that’s right… Elizabeth had returned to England following the Death of her husband, William, whom now stood at the helm of the cursed ship, The Flying Dutchman. Well in truth she had first travelled to Singapore, where she bore her son, then returned to her native shores of Dover. She stood washing the dishes after breakfast, it was still early yet. The sun had barely crested over the horizon of the sea…

“Mama?”

Someone was tugging at her skirts, snapping Elizabeth’s mind off the sea. She turned her head and pear down over her shoulder to her young child… Jela. He was a blessing after the painful parting she had from her husband, now nearly 6 years before. Jela was 5 years old, and a mirror image of her husband when he was a child… She had to smile sadly, seeing his large brown eyes looking up at her.

“Yes Sweetie?”

Elizabeth removed her fine hands from the soapy water in the wooden sink. She dried on the front of her brown skirts before turning to face her son, an kneeling down to his level.

“What is it Sweetie?”

Jela looked into her eyes, his own large and wondering.

“Mama… when is Daddy going to come home? Doesn’t he love us no more?”

Elizabeth’s eyes widened in a pain filled shock, her jaw dropping ever so slightly, opening up her lips. Her brows raised in confusion.

“Jela, why would you think that?”

She gripped he son’s shoulders as she looked upon him. He shook his head, almost unnoticeable.

“Why would you think that huh?!”

She shook her son’s shoulder gently, not trying to hurt him, but trying to get him to answer to her, why would he think such a thing about his own father.

“Because I’ve never known my Daddy, and he never comes around…”

Elizabeth sighed softly, putting her hand to her forehead, her eyes closed, trying to keep her headache from rising to the surface

If I ignore the pain than its not really there…

She opened her eyes slowly and looked upon her son, who looked like his father. Elizabeth’s lip quivered slightly…before she sighed.

“I suppose its time I tell you the truth about your parents…”

Jela backed up from his mother slightly…

“Aren’t you my Mama!?”

Elizabeth wanted to cry…

“Yes Jela I’m your Mama… and William Turner is your Daddy… but he can’t come home yet… not for a while yet . Just a few more years…”

“Why Mama?”

Elizabeth sighed trying to gather her thoughts, where was she to begin the bizarre story that was her child’s parents’ lives? She raked one hand through her loose honey locks, helping them fall out of loose braid that held them back while she had been making breakfast for her son. She sighed, trying to think…

“I suppose what is easiest… is to start at the beginning…”

She put her arms around her 5 year old son, and picked him up, carrying him into the small living room/sitting room of the house in which they lived. She sat herself down upon the couch and curled up, with her son in her lap.

“And the beginning would be to tell you my birth name. My name is Elizabeth Lynda Swann, and I was the daughter of the Governor of Port Royale, Jamaica.”

Jela squirmed around in her lap, trying to get comfortable for what was sure to be a long story. He looked up at Elizabeth, listening as he finally settled in her lap as she put her arms around him gently, pulling him back against her warm body.

"Your Grandma, my Mama was Lynda Swann, she died when I was 10 years old... she got very sick... your Grandpa, my Father was Weatherby Swann, a respectable man, who moved himself and I to Port Royale when I was 12. That's when I met your Daddy... Its silly really..."

Elizabeth played with her son's hair, holding him close. He was the last little piece of her beloved husband that she had left... and he was precious to her.

"I was singing at the bow, and I spotted your father... maybe a year older than myself, laying unconscious on a door in the middle of the water... so we pulled him up on deck... My father left me in charge of him, and I found out his name... William Turner... but I did something that I should not have done, and its probably what lead us to this point we're at right now. I stole a pendant that he was wearing from him... because I thought he was a pirate, and I didn't want my father's first duty as Governor to be hanging a boy my age... especially when he had no one to bail him out of prison... so I hid that coin away... for 8 years. Upon our arrival in Port Royale, you Daddy was adopted so to speak by the Blacksmith, J. Brown. Well he was a drunk, and immediately put your Daddy to work, but that's alright because you Daddy surpassed him in his craft, and his work was known all over the Caribbean.

"But things change and The pirates that that coin belonged to, wanted it back... so they kidnapped me from my bed late one night, and I stupidly gave them my name as "Elizabeth Turner"--"

"But that is your name Mama"

Jela tilted his head back, looking up at Elizabeth. She turned her gaze, looking down at her son.

"Yes it is... but then I was Elizabeth Swann... so they took me away to use my blood to break a curse they had... you see the gold was cursed so that they were the living dead... skeletons by the moonlight. Well your Daddy, Will, came to save me, with the help of a Pirate that he broke out of jail, named Captain Jack Sparrow--"

"Uncle Jack !?"

Elizabeth had to laughed as she cuddled her son close.

"Yes, you're Uncle Jack... they chased after me, and broke the Pirates' Curse... actually... your Daddy's blood broke the Pirates' curse... we returned home to Port Royale... where your Uncle Jack was to be hanged for Piracy... but your Daddy came to his rescue and freed him. I was so afraid that you Daddy was going to be hanged as punishment... but my father granted them freedom... that's when your Daddy told me out fully that he loved me since he met me... I wanted to cry because I was engaged to a Military Man named James Norrington - who sadly died a few years later trying to help me... but James let me go... so your Daddy and I became engaged... for 6 months we planned the wedding, everything was to be perfect... but that day the Navy took over our small town... our wedding was ruined and we were both arrested for the treasonous doings of setting free a convicted Pirate... twice in your Daddy's case. But Lord Cutler Beckett struck a deal with your Daddy... he was to go find your Uncle, and bring back his compass, in exchange for my freedom... but it never got that far... your Grandpa, my father broke me out of prison and when he was bound to take me back to England... he was arrested... and I escaped with signed Letters of Marque - pardoning your father and commissioning him as a Privateer -- that's a kind of Pirate that the Government pays to be a Pirate…. But you Daddy your uncle Jack tricked into going on board the Flying Dutchman, but the evil Captain, Davy Jones tricked him and made him stay there… but your Daddy escaped. And your uncle, Mr. Norrington and I sailed to Isla Cruces, where we dug up the Dead Man’s Chest, to kill the still beating heart of Davy Jones, but your Uncle stopped your Daddy and Norrington, Jack and your Daddy got into a three-way fight … but Norrington stole the heart and we had to face the Kraken… your Daddy fought the Kraken- a giant sea beast with tentacles as long as the rivers, and we won… but it ate your Uncle… so we sailed to the End of the Earth and into the Land of The Dead as a rescue mission…on the way home though… I saw that my Father had been killed… and that Angered me…

“Your Daddy was drawn between two choices, to free his father and live forever without me, or to choose me and damn his own father to eternal servitude aboard the Flying Dutchman… your uncle was so scared about the decision and the way he acted upon it, that he threw your Daddy overboard while I was taken by Sao Feng and became the Captain of the Empress, and Pirate Lord of the South China Seas – that is why you were born in Singapore – if you can remember it. But I was crowned King of the Pirates, and traded your uncle Jack for you Daddy back… but your Daddy had already betrayed us to the Navy Armada… lead by Lord Beckett… we released the Goddess Calypso from her human form… but she was angry, and turned the tides against us as we entered a great sea battle… she started a maelstrom… It’s a whirlpool that will suck you down to the very depths of Davy Jones’ Locker. Your Daddy had to battle his own father – that’s when we got married… we were married in the middle of the maelstrom, in the middle of a battle, by the Captain Barbossa… but tragedy struck and your Daddy was run through by Davy Jones’ sword… but your as he lay dying and I was screaming and urging him to stay with me, your Uncle Jack guided his hand and forced him to kill the heart of Davy Jones.

“You see, Jela, the Flying Dutchman must always have a Captain… he who kills the Captain, must take over the duties of the Ship… so they carved out his heart… though your Daddy was already dead then… your Uncle cut loose a sail and caught the wind within it, grabbing me in the process, lifting me up out of the battle as the Flying Dutchman was claimed once again by the sea. It was all over… the East India Trading Company and Navy Armada was still sailing for my small fleet – but the Dutchman rose again… I thought for sure we were going to be killed… but it came around, and sailed with my fleet – I looked to see why – and saw that my beloved, your Daddy, was the immortal Captain… but you see Jela… with this came one problem…

“Your Daddy can only spend one day on land for every ten years of service as Captain… and that was only 6 years ago… there are a few years yet… just a few years.”

“So… Daddy is not coming home?”

“No… he is… but not until you are older”

Jela looked up, nodding sadly curling up in his mother’s arms, before looking up at her again.

“Do you love Daddy?”

Elizabeth had to smile sadly, fighting back the tears from her eyes.

“With all of my heart Jela… with all of my heart…”

Author's Note: I apollogize once again... short boring chapter but it had to be written for we could get to anything else
