This is my second story, not including a poem I've sent in. I know my first story, Virtual Madness, was very confusing, so I've decided not to post on it anymore.
Anyway, this is a one-shot, but I have more that I just wrote out of boredom, so if you like it and want more, it's there. Warning though: That part has an OC of mine.
Hope you like this! Please review!
Yugi looked up at the clock. Five minutes had passed since he’d last looked up, but it had felt like forever. He closed his eyes, hoping the tears forming would just disappear. No luck. Where was Atem when he needed him most? He reached for the puzzle, but there was nothing there except the sheets. Tears forced down his cheeks. He swore in his mind.
He’s gone now and there’s nothing I can do about it. If I hadn’t made that last attack, and let him win, I wouldn’t have lost him.
He couldn’t forget what had happened. That one last embrace had been the greatest feeling ever. Now he was alone, no one there to comfort him. After all they had been through; he thought nothing could ever separate them again. He was wrong. He had never been able to admit how he felt inside. He always hid away his true thoughts from him, but everything else was open for reading.
“Why did you have to go?” He muttered to the cold air that surrounded him. He began to sob uncontrollably, no one there to stop the tears. He buried his face into the pillow. He felt something on his shoulder, but ignored it.
Their parting had been so quick. He had just walked out of Yugi’s life, not looking back. He had been trying to hide his tears. He knew he had to leave Yugi and his friends and go to the afterlife, but he hadn’t wanted to. They were his friends, and that was where he belonged, not in the afterlife with people he could barely remember much of. But he had walked on, knowing he couldn’t turn back time and relive all of the great times he’d spent with Yugi and their friends, but mostly Yugi.
“Why did I leave?” He asked himself as he thought of the best friend he’d ever had
Yugi heard his alarm clock go off. He slammed down on the snooze button. Now he’d have some time to think of what had happened. He’d spent the entire night crying, thinking of him. Every memory of him returned, and he started to sob again. He heard his name being called to come downstairs to eat, but he wasn’t hungry, so he ignored who had called to him. He’d barely eaten since they had returned home. He felt dizzy all of a sudden and he felt his stomach growling.
Maybe just a little food…
He started down the stairs. At the last few steps weakness from lack of sleep and hunger overcame him and he fell down the last couple stairs. Pain shot through his body. The last thing he heard was his grandfather shouting his name as he ran over to him worriedly, and then, darkness.
Atem felt something strange. He hadn’t felt like this since they had been dueling against Pegasus in the Shadow Realm. He could sense Yugi was in pain. Something bad had just happened to him, there was no doubt about it. There was no way he could contact him again. He had the previous night, trying to give comfort to him while he was crying, but to no success. He had only been able to stay for so long.
Maybe if I try it again I can see what’s wrong.
He transferred part of his soul to the present to where Yugi was. He reappeared in a hospital confused. He looked at the bed and saw him lying there with his eyes closed. He had bruises all over him and he was pale.
“I wish I knew what had happened. He looks really hurt.” In the next room over he heard whispering, and the mentioning of Yugi’s name. He walked to where the whispers were coming from. A doctor was talking to Yugi’s grandfather.
“What happened to him? He’s in very bad condition, and not just the bruises. He seems to not have eaten in about a week or two except for very little. He’ll be here for a while,” the doctor explained.
“I’m not really sure how it happened. I just called him down to try getting him to eat or at least talk. He didn’t come down for a few minutes, and next thing I knew I heard a crash and saw him whimpering at the bottom of the stairs.”
“No…” He turned back to Yugi and he felt tears streaming down his face.
How could this have happened? It’s my fault. He was upset about me leaving. I wish I could help him somehow. He started to fade away, and then, he was gone again.
There you go! Please R&R! It is appreciated!
