Aherm) If you have been reading my GaaraXSakura fic, I apologize for the very unexpected hiatus. I had freshman stuff and had stuff to take care of. I'll try to get that next chapter up soon, i promise.

And if you have not seen a disclaimer in my stories, i have forgotten them. So, I'll just put the disclaimer here for those stories.

I don't own Naruto, because if I did, Garra and Hinata would be together, and Naruto would've had a less anoying voice.

(this all takes place while they are still in the academy...about...oh, a week before finals, I guess)

Naruto finished stringing the rubber band on the forked stick he had been carving all day.

"Heh heh..." Naruto picked up a pebble from the floor and loaded it into the slingshot.

"Let's see..." Naruto grinn mischieviously as he targeted the back of Shikamaru's head.

"Ready..." Naruto pulled the rubber band back.

"Aim..." Naruto lined the shot up for the top of Shikamaru's head.

"FI-"

"NARUTO!" Naruto shreiked and hid the slingshot under his desk as Iruka stomped up to him from the front of the class, where he was still taking attendance.

"Naruto, give that slingshot to me." Naruto dropped the slingshot into Iruka's hand unwillingly.

"Thank you." Iruka snapped the forked stick and pocketed the rubbed band before going back to the front of the room.

"Ok, everyone, settle down. Shikamaru, wake up."

"Man, give me a minute, would'ya?" Iruka growled.

"Fine...Ok, I have an announcement to make before we start class, today." Shikamaru didn't sit up, but did open one eye to look at his teacher.

"Tonight, there'll be a lock-in for all of the students. It'll be a...party, I guess, for how hard you all have worked." Naruto yawned and put his feet up on his desk and leaned his chair back. Next to him, Sasuke just stared straight ahead. On the other side of Sasuke, Sakura was beaming and was, no doubt, in one of her many daydreams where she and Sasuke were either getting married or sharing their first kiss. 'Bah,' thought Naruto. 'If anything'll happen, It's gonna be me pulling off the biggest prank in my life!'

"Hee hee..." Naruto snickered before thinking of all the things he could do...

Naruto finished packing up his things, having packed up a blanket, a rather large amount of instant ramen, a bunch of prank stuff, and a comic book (of course...the fabled comic book). Naruto shouldered her bag and started out the door.

"N-naruto-kun...!" Naruto turned to see Hinata standing there. She was carrying a similar bag that Naruto was holding.

"Oh, hey, Hinata! Goin' to the lock-in?" Hinta nodded, blushing. 'Why is she all red like that...?' Naruto walked a bit closer to Hinata.

"You ok? You look kinda red..." Naruto felt the shy, trembling girl's forehead.

"Hmm...not hot..." Hinata began to turn even redder.

"Well, whatever it is, it can't be that bad." Hinata sighed and blushed harder.

"Well, c'mon! Gotta get a move on, right?" Hinata looked up at the blonde and nodded, a smile smile forming on her face.

The line of students waiting to get into the academy wasn't long when the got there. They were one of the few that got there before the assigned time, which meant the chance to get advanced sleeping arrangements.

"Naruto, Hinata, over here!" Kiba was waving his arm over near the back of the room. Naruto followed Hinata over to Kiba.

"H-hi Kiba."

"Hey, Hinata. Yo, Naruto, got a sleeping arrangement yet?"

"Eh?" Kiba chuckled.

"I mean, do you have a sleeping area. And do you have a sleeping buddy?" Hinata tensed up at the mention of those words.

"Uh...no." Kiba scratched his cheek in thought.

"Hinata, you think you can be his buddy? Shino already agreed to be mine." Hinata sighed.

"O...ok..."

When the rest of the students had arrived (and after a rather nasty fight between Sakura and Ino over who would be sleeping with Sasuke, which ended with Sasuke asking Shikamaru to be his sleeping parter...before he strangled him a blonde and a crazy pink-haired girl), Iruka took role and started the evening with a movie.

Naruto stared blankly at the screen as the movie went on. It was supposed to be a comedy/romance, but it wasn't funny, and he found romance rather stupid. Hinata, on the other hand, was looking from the screen to Naruto every few minutes.

"Naruto...?" Naruto turned to looked at the vioelt-haired girl that was his sleeping partner for that night.

"Yeah?" Hinata blushed and looked away.

"Nothing..." Naruto cocked his head to the side and rubbed the back of his head.

When the movie was over, most of the students had gone to sleep where they sat, and had to be waken up by Iruka (Shikamaru was a lost cause, scince boring movies would practically knock him out for a few hours), and then food was served (of course, Ino, who ended up as Chouji's sleeping partner, had to get Chouji 's food for him, scince Chouji would, no doubt, take most of it) soon after. Naruto looked over the food and just grabbed a cookie before going to ask Iruka for something he could make his ramen in. Iruka offered to fix it for him, and Naruto gave him two packs.

"Two? You must be hungry."

"Nah, the other's for Hinata." Iruka blinked a few times before taking the two packs of ramen and going the cook them. Naruto returned to Hinata, who was staring at the ground.

"Hey, Hinata...What'chya doin'?" Hinata looked up at Naruto.

"Nothing..." Naruto sat down and rested his head in his hand, looking at the girl's eyes.

"Wha...What?" Naruto smiled.

"Just looking at you." Hinata blushed.

"Can I ask you something, Hinata?" HInata started to poke her fingers together.

"Yes..."

"Why do you always act so...nervous around me?" But before Hinata could answer, Iruka came over them and handed Naruto the ramen and two sets or chosticks.

"Thanks, Iruka-sensei!" Iruka nodded and went off somewhere. Naruto handed Hinata a cup of ramen and a pair of chopsticks to Hinata.

"Here. I figured you were hungry." Hinata blushed but took the ramen.

"Thank you..." Naruto began to eat, letting curiosity fill him even more.

After the food was gone, Iruka proposed sleep. Everyone agreed (except for Shikamaru, who was still asleep from the movie, with Sasuke trying to wake him up. Sasuke had to use the phrase "Temari's standing outside." to get the Nara to wake up). Naruto and Hinata took up a spot near the back of the room, where there was less people. Naruto and Hinata puulled out their sleeping things, and set it up. Naruto took off his orange jacket and tossed over to his things. Hinata pulled her jacket off and folded it over the back of a chair. Iruka went around to each sleeping group and checking on them. Afterwards, he dimed the lights and went to the desk to sit. Naruto and Hinata were lying on their backs staring up at the ceiling.

"Hey, Hinata?" whispered Naruto.

"Yes, Naruto...?" Naruto rolled onto his stomach and Hinata did the same.

"I think I know why you always turn red around me." Hinata's lavender eyes began to sparkle.

"Naruto-kun..." Naruto held up a finger in a matter-of-factly way.

"You turn red all the time arounf me because of the fox, right?" Hinata shut her eyes and Naruto heard a small, quiet sob.

"Huh? Hinata?" Naruto slid over to where Hinata was.

"Hey, what's wrong...?" Hinata opened her eyes again, this time, tears streaking down her face.

"Hey...I know something that's cheer you up." Hinata looked up at the blonde. Naruto groaned.

"No...Man, I'm sorry, Hinata, 'kay...? I know why you always blush around me. You like me. I shoulda just just said that sooner." Hinata fell silent.

"Na...Naruto-k-kun..." Naruto looked up. Hinata was staring at him, her eyes gleaming with tears. Hinata slid closer and let her lips touch Naruto's. Naruto, suprised, stared wide-eyed at the girl who was kissing him. But after a second of kissing, Naruto closed his eyes and returned the kiss.
