Sunshine

I stare at him from across the table

His beauty has no label

Memories of our first night flicker in my mind

My hear was lost, but him I did find

His blond locks cover his eye

And every time it falls back he does sigh

He concentrates hard on his art

The lines and colours hold a big piece of his heart

But, he says he loves me with all of it

And mine, each time, breaks a bit

Because never those words I can say

A promise I made myself, but he got in the way

Never could I imagine that he’d push his way through

With every kiss I turn to goo

It was never suppose to be like this

The thought of only one guy made my mind hiss

It had been planned, a new one every night

Never the whole cake, just a bite

Then I saw him under the street lamp

In his eyes, my heart set up camp

When I met him I told him the deal

One night, one time, nothing was real

He smiled like an eager fool

But later on broke the important rule

I should have seen it coming

He was a clever devil, with lots of cunning

He came back again and never stopped

When my resolve broke, into my arms he hopped

Even after, my feelings I tried to deny

But when he pouts I must comply

I told him I’d never say I love you

I wouldn’t lie to him, if I said it, it just wouldn’t be true

I would never love, it’s a fake emotion

It does nothing but cause an unhealthy commotion

He still says it all the time

My heart clutches like I’ve committed a crime

Love like his I’ve never known

Growing up I barely had a home

I never have, and it I don’t plan to say

It is nothing more than a tired cliché

Late at night, though, tangled in arms

I feel as if there is no harm

My mind screams against it all

I was never suppose to fall

Yet, here he sits like every things fine

I love him, because he’s my Sunshine
