The bouquet

Sora Takenouchi was sitting by the cash register at her mom’s flower shop with a look of utter boredom on her face.

‘I’m so bored I’ve only had three customer so far and it is only 11 o’clock’ she thought.

Sora was so wrapped up in her state of boredom that she didn’t hear the door open and a person walking towards her.

“Sora, earth to Sora, come in Sora” the voice calls

Sora snaps out of her state and smiles.

“Hey Tai what’re you doing here?” Sora asks

“I’m here to buy some flowers for my date” Tai replies

Inwardly Sora cringes as Tai tells her this because she’s had feelings for her big haired friend for years, which was the reason why she broke up with Matt.

“So Sora what’re some good flowers that I could give my date? Tai asks

“Well why don’t I show you some of the flower arrangements we have” Sora says

“That’ll be great I really want to sweep her off her feet” Tai says

Sora mentally winces, but goes on showing Tai all the different flower arrangements they had.

“They’re all so beautiful Sora I don’t think I can pick why don’t you pick for me” Tai say

Sora didn’t want to do this, but she swallowed her pride and pick the arrangement that had lilies and orchids. She then started to arrange the lilies and orchids into a beautiful bouquet. When she finished she brought the bouquet to the counter that held the cash register.

“That’ll be 5.60,” Sora say

Tai pulls out his wallet and Sora notices that the pictures in his wallet were of her and him at their soccer championship. She remembered it well.

It was raining during second half of the match and they were down 3-4 and they had the ball. Tai was on the sideline because he sprained his ankle. Sora had the ball and was heading for the goal. She didn’t hear anything except Tai cheering her on and at the moment Tai shouted shoot she kicked the ball into the goal, but a little after that she was knocked to the ground by one of the opposing players. Tai leapt from the bench and ran to Sora’s side. He knelt down and asked her if she was alright and she replied that she was. That ended up to be a penalty and Sora got a penalty kick and she took it and scored. And that’s how they won the game.

Sora had a smile on her face remembering that game that she didn’t notice Tai waving his hand in front of her face trying to get her attention. He had to finally give her a little shake and she snapped out her daze.

“Sora are you alright?” Tai asked

“What, oh yeah I’m just fine I was remembering that soccer match” Sora said knowing Tai would know what she was talking about,

“Yeah that was a great game though I wanted to beat the crap out of that guy who knocked you over” Tai said

Sora just smiles and hands Tai the bouquet only to have it returned to her. Sora had a perplexed look on her face as Tai handed back the bouquet.

“Tai, what are you doing?” Sora said

“I’m giving my date her flowers,” he said

It took Sora a few minutes to figure it out and smiles at Tai and he holds out his hand and she takes it.

“Tai this so nice, but I can’t leave the shop my mom will kill me if I do” Sora said

“No need to worry I talked to her and I got someone to cover for you” Tai says

“Who did you get?” Sora asked

And just at that moment Tai’s little sister Kari stepped through the door followed by her best friend TK.

“How did you get Kari to do this?” Sora asked Tai

“I had to blackmail her saying if she didn’t do this I’d tell TK that she has feeling for her and show him her diary devoted to him” Tai whispered

“Tai that’s mean to do, but I’ll forgive only if you show me the time of my life” Sora said

“What ever the lady wants the lady gets” Tai replied

As they left Sora noticed TK leaning into Kari and whispered something into her ear, which made her blush.

The rest of the day was a blur for Sora. Tai took her everywhere she wanted and as they left the movie it was nighttime already. Sora was leaning into Tai her head resting on his shoulder.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun in all my life” Sora said

Tai just smiled as they walked through the park. No words were needed for they both felt it and knew what was coming. It happened slowly Sora turned her head up at Tai and he bent his head down as she craned her head forward. When their lips met it felt like fireworks were exploding in their heads. As they parted only three words were needed for this moment.

“I love you, Sora” Tai said

“I love you too, Tai” Sora said

The couple walked back to the flower shop and there the got a sight that they weren’t expecting. There through the window were TK and Kari and they were kissing. Tai’s first reaction was go in there and kick TK’s butt, but Sora stopped him and said that Kari looked happy and Tai had to agree. They left the couple and Tai walked Sora home.

“What are you going to do about TK?” Sora asked

“I don’t know yet, but I guess Kari made a good choice picking TK and not Davis” Tai said

Sora smiled and leaned into Tai and gave him a quick kiss on the lips and said good-bye and goodnight.

Tai walked home with a smile on his face.
