Dr. Daniel Jackson sat next to the desk in his office, holding a couple of letters in his hands. He was getting clearly disorientated by all of this, whoever had sent him those letters lately really seemed to care about him a lot, love him actually… And not just that, they were all written in pink and they also smelled slightly of strawberries. He liked them, but somehow he quite didn’t after all, he didn’t like the fact of not knowing who admired him so damn much. Deep inside his heart, he always wanted it to be Janet herself, but she would never use a pink pen that smelled strawberries while writing letters… In fact, she would never send him letters like that at all… or would she, was it even possible that she could be the one!??

Two letters! That much he had received in only three days and sometimes it felt nothing more than a stupid joke, but then again, the letters were so accreted… And emotional! No, something like that could never even been joked about, and what he worried about the most was the fact that if these letters weren’t from Janet, then his secretly admirer would only get to be emotionally hurt with him turning her off, and as Daniel had always hated to hurt another persons feelings he knew that sometime he had to do it, that he had no other choice than follow his heart. Sometimes that made him feel bad, and he had always hated that feeling as long as he lived. Therefore, he decided that he was going to figure this out, but how…?

I can always compare handwritings… Daniel thought a little unsecured. In decision of comparing Janet’s the first he looked around his desk in case there was something she had wrote him, when he found nothing he suddenly remembered the note she had been given him earlier that day. Daniel didn’t knew exactly why she had given him that note or rather what it said though, but after returning from his latest mission with SG-1 she had given it to him during his check-up, and before he could even say anything it was Jack’s turn all of a sudden. After that, he had forgotten all about it and put the note in his pocket before he headed off toward his office to translate the latest device that he’d discovered with SG-1 earlier. But that note was now the only lead he had to those letters, therefore he grabbed his jacket, then picked up the note, folded it out and was about to read it, and then…

Pink!? Daniel thought confused as he stared at the letters on the small paper, he almost didn’t notice what it said as well, all he did was staring at the shiny pink colour, and the strawberry scent reeked towards him… he managed to rip himself to reality and started to rather read the note which said:

Right then, and Daniel couldn’t be more secured than this, not ever… But he knew that those letters had to come from Janet, everything had indicated to that! Right then, the decision of heading to the infirmary hit his mind. Therefore, he stood up from his chair and left his work as he headed toward the elevator, after he went inside he pushed the 21 button…

While Daniel stood there in the elevator, many different thoughts ran trough his mind. Thoughts of why she had never told him, why he never told her…? He remembered the letters, which had told him that she was afraid, but afraid of what? Then, another thought hit him, he was in fact afraid himself. So afraid that he could loose her, just like he had lost his parents… and Sha’re, everyone he ever truly loved just seemed to leave him… Die!

Suddenly, when the elevator opened, Daniel walked out and again, headed towards the infirmary… When he had reached it, he walked inside and walked toward Janet’s office, then slowly peeked inside. He found her rummaging around on her desk, that in fact was a whole mess… Just like his;)

“You looking for something!?” Daniel suddenly asked.

“Uh…? Oh, Daniel!” Janet gasped jumpily, but turned her chair around to face him, then she suddenly smiled… “Hi!”

“I didn’t scare you, did I!?” Daniel asked while smiling teasingly.

“Uh, no… Not really, but you surprised me though!” she replied, Daniel was sure that she was shaking after his sudden appearance.

“I scared you!!” he said contently with folded arms.

“No you didn’t, I just… just…” Janet stammered as she tried to find an excuse, Daniel just glared at her and waited for an answer, though he was still smiling. “Okay, okay… You scared me a little, happy!?”

“Uhm yeah… good enough!” he replied and walked further inside, “Soooo… What’s going on anyway?”

“I can’t find my pen…” Janet muttered, then looked sadly back at her desk, somehow it made Daniel grin widely and he let out an laughing snort, therefore she looked back at him with an unsecured expression. “What…?”

Daniel stretched out his arm, then pulled something out of her hair and showed it to her… “Is this the one!?”

Janet smiled widely of joy, which made his heart beat faster. Then, all of a sudden, he glared at the pen… “Pink!?”

“Uhm, yeah… well… Erh, the thing is…” Janet stammered again, she didn’t knew exactly what to say, so therefore she rather turn back her chair and hid her head at the edge of the desk . “God, I’m so childish!”

“Janet, it was really you… it was you who wrote me those letters, huh!!?” Daniel suddenly laughed, it made her look up at him, bright red… “I knew it!!”

“You… you didn’t know…?” Janet asked confused and stared at him, Daniel stared back at her with the same confusion.

“So it really was… Erh, wait a minute… why should I know…?” Daniel asked, also he was blushing now and had no less confusion than before. “How could I know?”

“I thought I signed… the last letter, didn’t I!??” Janet replied carefully.

“No, not that I can remember… Oh god, was it that you wanted to talk about, that’s why you gave me that note!?” Daniel asked, Janet suddenly looked down at her hands and then he took one of them in his, it made her slowly look back up at him. “Am I right?”

“I thought you were avoiding me… because you didn’t feel the same, I felt that I had ruined our friendship and then I wanted to settle it right… I’m sorry, I should never have wrote them anyway! ” Janet replied, she looked up at him and met silence, therefore she slowly began to pull her hand back but Daniel responded by tighten it into his own. He cupped her cheek in his right hand, she sighed as she closed her eyes, and moved her own hand to touch the one that was resting on her cheek… That alone made it clear for Daniel that every word she had told him trough the two letters was true, that alone was enough to let her know he felt exactly the same way and that alone gave him the decision to do that now. Therefore, Daniel placed his other hand at the back of her head and slowly pulled her towards himself, she then opened her eyes to look at him and confusion marked her face, he smiled at that before he brushed his lips against hers and she therefore closed her eyes again of the sudden contact. The kiss got more passionately when she pulled him closer and started to kiss him back, some moments later the need for air filled their lungs and they both broke apart, but were still sitting there in each others arms…

“Daniel, did that mean you…” Janet asked low, maybe more like a whisper, although she didn’t get far because Daniel put one finger on her lips to keep her silent…

“Yes Janet, it does… ” he whispered back, then removed his finger as he continued to talk. “I love you, I have for so long and I’m really glad those letters were from you!”

“That’s true…?” Janet asked.

“Yeah, I was so worried that if it wasn’t you, then I would only hurt another’s feelings… Because that I love you and only you, and I that want to be with you!” Daniel replied, his head rested against hers as he smiled.

“Really…?” Janet asked… Again!

“Yeah…” he replied and then kissed her again, “And I guess we should have a talk though!”

“Oh…?”

“I guess I have a lot to explain myself, but something about those letters worried me a lot!” Daniel replied with concern in his voice.

Janet looked at him, like the questions were written all over her... “About what!?”

Daniel smiled slightly at her, which made Janet’s latest expression grow a little more confusingly. He knew that they had a lot to talk of, he knew there was so many things behind their feelings for each other that they had to settle, worries and loneliness from both of their pasts…

“First of all… You don’t need to be afraid anymore!” Daniel replied and pulled her into another kiss, and no matter what had scared them both so much, everything would turn out okay… With time!
