Title: New Beginnings Author: Agarwaenloth Rating: PG-13, possibly soft R later on Pairing: Scott/Logan Timeline: Total rewrite of the first movie, and later the second movie, but I might make that a different story.
Disclaimer: I own nothing, unfortunately.
A/N: If I get some elements from the movie wrong, don't blame me. I can't find the DVD and the only script I can find online is an early draft that was apparently changed a lot. If someone could give me a link to any of the movies scripts, I would be very grateful.
Summary: Logan and Scott clash, but not over Jean. What happens when opposites attract?

Chapter One

Logan sat straight up as he woke up, quickly taking in his surroundings with the honed instincts of a hunter. The redhead posed to stick a needle in his arm was startled, and he instantly knocked the syringe out of her hand and grabbed her by the throat. Wide, wild eyes observed as she struggled against his hold, her fear a stench that invaded his senses. Coming to his senses, he quickly released her and watched as she dropped to the floor. Still in fight or flight mode, however, he ran down the hallway, ducking into the first room he saw, which was a locker room of some sort. Strange black leather costumes hung on the wall, allowing him to remember what had happened.

He and "Rogue" had been attacked, and then rescued. Not that he needed saving. He could take care of himself. But, admittedly, if their rescuers hadn't come when they did, he would not have been able to protect Marie for long. He vaguely remembered be carried in the arms of one of the most beautiful men he had ever lain eyes on, even if he could only make out half of his face under his visor. He quickly shook that thought from his head. Right now, he had to focus on where the hell he was, and what the hell had happened to the kid. He rummaged through the room and managed to come up with some jeans and a t-shirt.

He crept down the hallway looking for a way out and stumbled upon an elevator. Eyeing it warily, he stepped in and it immediately began its ascent. It came to a smooth stop and opened to reveal a hallway, much different from the sterile one he left behind. This hallway had rich wooden paneling, which exuded a warmth not found below.

'Good morning, Logan, won't you come in?' a voice drifted to him. He glanced around the hallway looking for the source. But quickly realized there was no one around.

'Follow the hallway and take the second door on your left,' the voice said again. Logan quickly realized that whoever it was was speaking directly into his head. He narrowed his eyes suspiciously, but did as instructed, figuring he may as well try to find a peaceful way out, though not many would peg him as the kind of guy who would look for one.

He walks into the room on edge, but quickly drops his guard a little when he is confronted by a sophisticated bald man in a wheelchair. "How do you know my name?" he asked.

'You're not the only one with gifts,' the man answered, his mouth unmoving.

"Allow me to introduce myself," he said outloud. "I am Professor Charles Xavier, and this is my school."

"School?"

"For mutants such as your young friend, Marie. She is fitting in quite nicely, you'll be happy to know," he responded calmly.

"Fitting in?" Logan asked, puzzled. "How long have I been out?"

"Only a couple of days," the professor answered mildly. "You sustained much damage in the attack. It has taken a while for your body to heal itself. Had you been any other person, you would have died."

Logan smirked. "That's comforting."

A knock came on the door. "Come in, Scott," Xavier called.

Logan fought not to stare outright at the man. He recognized him as the one who had helped rescue them, and he was even more beautiful when viewed while fully conscious. The visor was gone, replaced with impenetrable red shades. His scent was intoxicating to Logan, filling his senses and driving him crazy.

"Logan," the professor addressed him, breaking him out of his thoughts. "This is Scott Summers, the leader of my team. He'll show you to your room."
