My Sweet Babboo

Chapter One

Linus walked the street nervously. He wasn't on a job. He was actually on vacation in Rome, trying to relax after the job he had just pulled with his father. However, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. And it was beginning to freak him out.

He had been able to shrug it off as his imagination, that is, until last night. The first call he could have written off as a fluke. However, the subsequent second and third shook him a little. Nevertheless, since there was only a short pause followed by a dial tone on those calls, he dismissed them. The fourth was what frightened him. He had picked up the phone and all he heard was breathing. This had a few more times, and before long he just stopped answering the phone and finally just turning the damn thing off.

Unfortunately, the phone calls weren't his only problem. Someone was following him. He quickened his pace and turned towards his hotel. He needed to get back to his room. Nothing to get to him in there.

He rushed up the stairs to the second floor, not wanting to wait for the elevator. He fumbled with his passkey and finally managed to fit it into the slot. He opened the door and closed it hurriedly, leaning back against it and sighing in relief.

"Something wrong, Linus?"

Linus looked up with wide, frightened eyes. He relaxed again when he saw it was only Danny and Rusty. He quickly straightened up nervously and chuckled.

"Hey, guys, what brings you here?"

Rusty quirked an eyebrow. "Your father asked us to drop in and check on you. Seems you haven't been answering your phone."

"Since we were in the area on business," Danny explained. "We decided to see what you were up to. Now, what's got you running scared?"

"I'm not running scared!" Linus protested defensively, not wanting the men in front of him to know he was getting freaked out by a few phone calls and definitely not wanting it to get back to his parents.

"So you always behave that way when you get back to a hotel room?" Rusty asked rhetorically. "So what happened? You start a job and got in over your head?"

"I'm not on a job," Linus admitted. "I just wanted to spend a few days relaxing in Rome. So I turned my phone off," he lied.

"Uh huh," Danny said, unconvinced. "That's kind of what your father told us, except he said that you knew better than to turn your personal phone off, you know, the phone you only use for family and friends, not business."

"Most of my family and friends are in the business," Linus argued.

"You can't con us, Linus," Rusty stated seriously. "Now what's going on?"

"Nothing!" Linus insisted. "Now if you will excuse me, I have a pressing engagement with a blue-eyed blonde," he said, grabbing his coat and opening the door. "Feel free to stay as long as you like," he called over his shoulder as he left.

He walked to the elevator and it opened as soon as he pressed the button. He stepped in and waited for the doors to close before banging his head against the wall.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid," he muttered to himself.

He walked out the hotel and down the street. It was getting dark, and he really didn't want to be out. But he couldn't go back to the hotel without giving Danny and Rusty an explanation, because even if they weren't in his room, they would be near by and would know when he came in.

"God, I'm an idiot," he murmured.

Suddenly, he was grabbed from behind and pulled inside a side-alley and then shoved against a brick wall. A large shadow loomed in front of him, and fear invaded his senses.

'Please be Danny or Rusty,' he prayed.

"You're mine now, my sweet babboo," a cruel voice said, while pressing his body against Linus's forcefully.

'Definitely not Danny or Rusty' Linus thought in despair.
