Over Again

A/N: This was originally written for my Creative Writing class during a screen-writing unit, and is therefore in screenplay format. The spacing and format may be a tad confusing; please try to understand. Nothing is mine, blah blah blah. Enjoy :)

INT. CRISTINA AND BURKE'S APARTMENT – NIGHT

CRISTINA is hunched over, sobbing, with MEREDITH holding her from behind.

CRISTINA
(sobbing hysterically)
Damn it, damn it, I’m free, damn it.

Meredith doesn’t say anything; she simply holds onto her friend, giving her the occasional arm rub. Cristina continues sobbing.

CRISTINA
(inhales)
I can’t breathe.

The two slowly sink to the ground, Meredith’s arms still protectively surrounding Cristina.

After a couple more silent sobs, there is a knock at the door.

MEREDITH
Cristina, I should get that. What if it’s...

CRISTINA
(shaking her head)
Don’t leave, don’t leave me –

She begins sobbing uncontrollably.

MEREDITH
Okay, okay, its okay, I won’t leave you.

There’s another knock at the door, before a voice comes through.

CALLIE
(O.S.)
Cristina? Meredith?

Cristina visibly exhales, but continues silently sobbing.

MEREDITH
Cristina, its just Callie. I'll be right back, okay?

Cristina viciously shakes her head.

MEREDITH
Okay, okay, I won’t go anywhere.

CRISTINA
(softly)
Thank you.
