A/N: Hi there! This is not my first time writing a story about Code Lyoko, just the first I’ve bothered to put on the site. Basically, this story is about the gang going on an adventure and discovering new interests, love, new places and just how important each and every one of them is. I plan to update as frequently as I can. Anyway, I hope you enjoy chapter one!

Disclaimer: I do not own Code Lyoko, if I did well… I wouldn’t be writing a story, I’d be making some new episodes!

NOTE: Everyone’s age and grade is different than in the show. This is a few years in the future. Here’s a chart of the ages and grades:

Yumi – 18, 12th grade

Ulrich, Odd, Hailey, William – 17, 11th grade

Aelita, Jeremie – 16, 11th grade

Chapter one: An Urgent Meeting

Yumi yawned quietly and her gaze suddenly flew to the door of the busy little Starbucks. The bells on the door had jingled when it opened, drawing her attention to it. To her dismay a college couple strolled in. She was hoping it was her friends since they should have been here by now to hear her simply urgent news. The Starbucks wasn’t to far from the school and it shouldn’t take everyone long to arrive. It was mildly cold that day, the 14th of December, and Yumi had worn her usual black attire along with a thick black coat and some gloves. Sitting in front of her was a cup of hot cocoa and a small envelope. “Where are they?” She murmured while glancing at the watch on her wrist. At the same moment the door swung open and the gang appeared in the doorway.

“Yumi! Yoohoo!” Aelita shouted and waved before quickly walking over to the table Yumi sat at, dragging Jeremie by the wrist with her.

“Hi guys!” Yumi exclaimed while waving at all of her friends as they walked towards the table she sat at. Aelita took a seat across from her and Jeremie sat beside her. Ulrich sat at Yumi’s left while a girl that looked a lot like Odd sat at her right with Odd beside her. Next to Jeremie sat William. The girl beside Yumi was named Hailey, and had been in the group for about 2 years now. She had been living at home until one day she asked her parents if she could move to Kadic with Odd, since they were twins and couldn’t stand to be without each other anymore. They agreed, and here she was now! She did know about Lyoko, and shared a room with Aelita. She had long, straight blonde hair that fell a little past her shoulders. Her eyes were bright blue and they complimented the maze of freckles on her cheeks. Just as the gang was wearing warmer clothing then usual as was Hailey. She normally wore skirts and t-shirts, clothing she felt comfortable in. “You guys can all order something if you want.” She said, smiling.

“Yumi, you shouldn’t have offered that because now Odd and Hailey are going to order a million plates of food.” William commented and Yumi laughed, glancing at Odd and Hailey before looking at the menu behind the registers.

“Don’t even think about ordering a lot. Just a drink and something small to eat, this isn’t dinner.” She said and Hailey pouted.

“Fine.” She said smiling at Yumi before pulling her brother over to the register so they could order something.

“Jeremie, what would I like off the menu?” Aelita asked, tilting her head to the side and looking at her best friend.

“I’ll help you pick out something.” Jeremie offered with a grin, standing up and leading Aelita towards Odd and Hailey, who were pointing out things they wanted from the menu.

“I’ll go get something also.” Ulrich said and after flashing a smile at Yumi he followed William to the register. Yumi waited patiently for her friends to return, sipping quietly at her hot cocoa. Jeremie and Aelita were the first to return, each holding a cup of cappuccino.

“This is delicious!” Aelita exclaimed when she sat down and took a sip. Yumi smiled and nodded, and Jeremie blushed slightly.

“I was hoping you’d like it.” Jeremie said with a shy nod, looking at Aelita who simply grinned. Hailey plopped down into her seat when she finished buying her food and drink, and smiled through a mouthful of coffee cake. She set down the rest of the coffee cake, her drink, a small piece of strawberry shortcake and a cupcake before turning to Yumi.

”They have a lot of delicious deserts here, I couldn’t decide which to get! I decided to get three!” Hailey exclaimed with a sheepish smile. Odd walked over and sat down next to Hailey, having the exact same things set out before him.

“You guys eat a lot…” Aelita murmured with a short giggle.

“Tell me something I don’t know.” Odd exclaimed before beginning to scarf down his cupcake. A moment later Ulrich and William returned with drinks and small coffee cakes.

“Well, Yumi, what did you want to tell us?” Jeremie asked after a moment of silence. He and Ulrich had been worrying about it all morning, since she had sounded pretty urgent when she called everyone. They feared for the worst things like Yumi would be moving far away and couldn’t help on Lyoko or she had to transfer schools.

“Yes, do share!” William said after taking a sip of his cappuccino and looking intently at Yumi. Yumi placed her drink down and looked at each of her friends.

“You know how we were all talking about how boring Kadic was going to be over break?” Yumi asked, receiving nods from all of her friends. “Well, I told my parents about it last night while they were packing up for their trip that they left for this morning… And…” Slowly she took something out from the envelope she had in front of her and placed it in the center of the table. The first person to make a sound was Hailey, who had screamed.

“OH MY GOD, THOSE ARE PLANE TICKETS TO HAWAII!” Hailey screamed, causing the shop to go silent and stare at the crazed girl. Yumi laughed quietly as she heard her friends shriek with joy and pick up the tickets to see if it was true.

“Jeremie, what’s Kawaii?” Aelita asked, tilting her head to the side and looking at Jeremie who laughed.

“It’s pronounced “Hawaii”, and it’s one of many islands in a chain over by the U.S.” Jeremie said matter-of-factly and Aelita gave a short nod. Yumi began to speak again as the group calmed down.

”My parents got them for us so we can spend the whole break in Hawaii!” Yumi exclaimed, glancing at each of her friends. “They already asked the principal, and he said that he would allow all of you to go.” She said with a smile that faltered a few moments later. “There is a small problem though…” Ulrich’s eyes widened. He had feared the worst, and when Yumi told what the meeting was about he had been relieved. But a ‘problem’? Now he was scared again.

“What is it?” Ulrich asked hesitantly, looking at Yumi and waiting for her to go on.

“You see… The plane tickets are for tomorrow… Which means you’ll have to pack and stay the night at my house, and we’ll have to leave early in the morning.” Yumi said with a curt nod.

“That’s alright, this vacation is going to be great!” William exclaimed, and the gang nodded in agreement.

“Right now it’s 6:30, so you can all head back to Kadic and pack. Then at around 8:00 you can come by my house.” Yumi said with a grin.

“Sounds good!” Odd said and stood, taking one final swig of his hot cocoa. “I know how long Hailey takes to pack, so we better get out of here now.” He grabbed his sister by the wrist and began to drag her towards the door.

“Bye Yumi! See you in a little bit!” Hailey said with a short wave and then was dragged out of the Starbucks. Aelita looked at Jeremie.

“Do you think you can help me pack?” She asked quietly, unsure of what she needed to bring. Jeremie nodded.

“Sure!” He said and stood up, nodding at Yumi before leading Aelita to the door. William stood up shortly after.

”I’m gonna head back also. See you in a bit Yumi.” William said and flashed a smile before walking out the door. Yumi looked at Ulrich and stood up.

“You should probably head back also.” She said and collected the tickets and the other items she brought, and then slipped on her jacket.

“You’re probably right.” Ulrich said with a short laugh, slipping on his own jacket. The two walked to the exit together and walked out. “I’ll uh, see you in a bit.” Ulrich said, turning to face Yumi.

“Yes. Goodbye Ulrich.” Yumi said and quickly turned, heading in the direction of her home. Ulrich sighed quietly and walked towards Kadic.

”WOOHOO! I’M GOING TO HAWAII!”

Hailey scratched at her head as she entered her dorm, seeing a brown package sitting on her bed. “Wonder what this is.” She murmured to herself as she pulled out a pair of scissors and opened the package. “COOL!”

“I know right!” Odd cried as he suddenly ran into her room, his own box in hand.

“I didn’t think mom and dad would even know.” Hailey commented as she pulled out a new purple bathing suit, a pair of goggles and a new tote bag.

“Well, Mr. Delmas had to give permission for you both to leave.” Jeremie answered as he and Aelita arrived at the room. “It only makes sense. I imagine that my parents and Ulrich’s were contacted, too.”

“It’s a good thing we explained to my parents that Aelita was an orphan on scholarship… Otherwise when he called them they would of freaked.” Odd commented as he poked at the goggles he was given.

“Yeah, that would have been bad. When I visited last summer they thought Mr. Delmas assumed they were my relatives… When really we said they were.” Aelita murmured as she pulled out two large, pink suitcases from beneath her bed.

“Definitely.” Odd replied as he rubbed at his arms. “Hey, I’m gonna go pack. Call if you need somethin’.” Odd called as he ran back up to his dorm.

“Ready to pack?” Hailey asked Aelita, knowing Aelita had never packed for a vacation like this before.

“I hope so.” She murmured and unzipped the pockets on the suitcases.

“Well, I was texting Yumi and she said that the trip was going to be 22 days total. The whole time we won’t be in Hawaii, but ultimately you need atleast 15 outfits. You can mix match after that, and I imagine you’ll be shopping there too.” Jeremie explained as Aelita opened her closet, nodding slowly.

“That’s a lot of clothes.” Hailey gushed, running a hand through her hair. Knowing they had such little time though, they hurriedly stuffed what suitcases they had with day clothes and pajamas. Halfway through Jeremie left them to check on Odd and Ulrich.

“How you guys doing?” Jeremie asked as he strolled into the room, looking at the mess of clothes that littered the floor.

“Okay, you?” Ulrich replied as he zipped up a suitcase full of clothes.

“Haven’t started yet. But it’ll be a breeze for me. Just wanted to see how you two were doing.” Jeremie replied as he placed Odd’s book bag in the corner so he wouldn’t accidently bring it.

“Good.” Odd murmured as he stuffed his face with a bag of old Cheetos he found. “You should go pack though Einstein.”

“Yeah yeah. I’ll see you at Yumi’s.” Jeremie called as he exited the room and walked towards his own. He opened the door and then his dresser, where all of his clothes were neatly stacked by what article of clothing they were. “Like I said, a breeze. Hawaii here I come!”

A/N: Well, I hope you enjoyed chapter one! After I get a few reviews I will post chapter two. Criticism is loved, and as are ideas and suggestions, but flames are frowned upon. Well, until my next chapter, bye!
