Well, here we are. My first true romantic fic on my favorite pairing in the Powerpuff Girl universe, as well as my first ever poetry fic. It's also my first oneshot, too.
Well, on with the Disclaimer- I do not own Princess Morbucks or Brick. They are copyrights of Craig McCracken, one of the greatest cartoonists- if not the greatest cartoonist- ever born. I claim none of it.
Now, here we go!
As I sit upon this ledge,
I think of what I feel for you.
Do I hate you, or do I love you?
Funny, I was in a traffic jam when we met.
It was not the most romantic of places,
Nor was it the place of the climactic meeting of nemesis
But I remember what I felt when you first looked at me
I felt like something grand had happened,
Like God had finally said, “I do care about you”
I wanted to know you better
I wanted to be friends with you
Yet when I assisted you in your near-death,
You cast me out, because of my gender,
Not grateful for my help.
I’ll never forget it. For that, I hate you.
Yet, after I double-crossed you,
Those whom I had wanted to join for so long
Abandoned me, as if I was a tool rusted beyond usability
And when you saw me,
You reassured me that I was not worthy of scorn
That they were wrong to abandon me
It’s like you had forgotten that you and I were different gender
And you had accepted how equal we really are
I’ll never forget that moment
Yet before I could thank you
You flew away with your brothers
So as I sit here, I ask aloud,
“Do you love me, Brick? Or do you hate me?”
And at the same time, I ask myself
“Do you love him, Princess? Or do you hate him?”
I’m not sure about either but mark these words:
I will keep looking to the ends of the Earth for the answers
Well, there you go. My first oneshot. By the way, in case you're wondering about it, this is based on the premise of Brick comforting Princess after the events of "Boy Toys," which I will be writing another fic on shortly.
Until then, please read and review! Please leave any constructive criticism you can.
Until next time, dear audience!
Signing off with Humility,
