I would appreciate comments especially on story-telling, since I feel it turned out a little childish. "
"Sasuke Bastard!" Naruto murmured while he was going home after a long day.
"He was the star of the day, again. Not only he is Kakashi's favorite, but Sakura's dream too." He was annoyed.
"I invited her to a date for the seventh time in this week, but she said 'no' just because Sasuke wouldn't be there. I'm fed up with this."
When he arrived home the sun had been already setting. Orange paint was flowing across the blue sky.
After he'd gotten inside he kicked his sandals off and went straight to the kitchen. He took out an extra large Cup Ramen and boiled some water. When the meal was ready he decided he would eat it on the rooftop while watching the sunset.
He sip the food slowly whilst his eyes were running through the neighborhood. Only a few people were on the streets, since it was supper time. Further, a few streets away from his house, he caught sight of a person, who was walking alone and kicked a stone from time to time before him to direct it his way. The guy must have been deep in his thoughts, because he almost run into a pole. From the immediate need of laugh Naruto spat the half-chewed noodles in his mouth all over the place. He followed the man with his eyes as he came nearer to Naruto's residence.
Now the blond could make out the man's identity.
"Sasuke Bastard." he whispered, not want to give away his secret peeping.
After the boy had disappeared from his sight, an enormous rage came over him.
"I can't believe it! What is he doing here alone? Ain't he have anything better to do? If I were Uchiha Sasuke, I would surely be on a date with Sakura-chan right now. Or celebrate myself with my fans. How lucky he is, he doesn't even know. Because he can't see from the arrogance that rules his mind."
When he finished his rampage it was already dark. Thousands of stars were dancing in the sky. Because of the scenery, he forget about everything for a minute. It was a wonderful night, summer breeze blew over the village. As he watched the sky, he saw a beautiful shooting star.
"I wish I were Uchiha Sasuke." he said out loud, though maybe he wasn't even aware of it.
He was bewitched by the peace and harmony, what the black sky and the far-away stars cast around him.
He could watch it for hours, but he was so tired he almost fell asleep. He would go and lie down in his bed rather than fall down from the roof, he thought.
Naruto had a very strange dream that night.
The deafening sound of the alarm-clock rang into his ears. To his heart's desire he would send it fly against the wall, but he'd already lived his earnings up faster then he should have done, so buying a new clock wasn't an option.
"A new day..." he yawned and stretched in his bed. The weird thing is, the blanket seemed to be shorter than before.
With big difficulty he wiped away the last visions from his dream in his eyes and with half-opened eyes he groped his way to the kitchen. Naruto have never been a morning person. It took him fifteen minutes to eat two toasts, then he bundled himself into the bathroom.
The shower was the real reveille, he needed it to regain his whole consciousness.
After he finished it, he went to the mirror to set his unruly hair.
As soon as he wiped away the vapor from the glass, he saw something that took his breath away.
"Sasuke Bastard, what the hell are you doing here?" he yelled and his every word echoed in the little bathroom. When he realized he was screaming at the mirror he started to back off.
"Genjutsu!" Naruto stated and immediately tried to dissolve it, but it had no effect. He went over to the bedroom, put on some clothes (but of course all of them was a little short) and run straight outside.
"Sakura, she must be able to help me. If she punches me, like she always does, I'm definitely going to come to my senses." Naruto mocked at himself.
He was followed by wondering looks when he run across the streets of Konoha, but he didn't seem to notice it. That was the least of his cares to be concerned about the looks.
As soon as the blond arrived at Sakura's flat he started to hammer at the door, like his life depended on it. (If not his life, but the sound of his mind did so.)
"Coming!" yelled somebody. Fine, Naruto thought, if I've already set her nerves on the edge then it's sure she will hit me in the head without asking.
"For god's sake! Nobody deaf in this house!" the girl swung the door open. " If you don't stop it, I'm sure to-"
Naruto was waiting for the murderous fist to hit his face with closed eyes, but for once he needed it, it never arrived.
"Sakura-chan?" he opened one of his eyes, then the other to see the girl's mouth fell off.
"Wha.. What can I help you," asked the girl in a disgustingly sweet voice. "Sasuke-kun?"
...Now was the time for Naruto's jaw to hit the floor.
"To what do I owe this early visit?" Sakura smiled, like she'd just get to know the fact that some upper force made this day the national celebration of her birthday, Christmas and Child's Day in one.
"And why are you wearing Naruto's obnoxious orange track-suit?" the girl grimaced.
Obnoxious? echoed the compliment in Naruto's head.
"Well...look...ahm...the fact is..." now that he paid a little more attention to it, he noticed that his voice also became deeper. It was downright ridiculous to hear these words in Sasuke's voice. "Never mind, it doesn't matter, it's a long story." he backed off. The blond realized it wouldn't help him if he claim to be in fact Naruto in Sasuke's body.
He just stood in front of the girl, who looked at him with a questioning expression. The boy's thoughts were already incoherent, but the situation just got worse. If it's a genjutsu, then why does Sakura see me as Sasuke? Or even the girl is a part of the illusion? In the boy's head the strands were snarled. He felt like he was going insane.
"I have to go now. See ya later, Sakura-chan." he waved and turned his back to the girl, then he disappeared in a nearby alley.
"Oh, Sasuke-kun, you shy boy." Sakura chuckled, she put one of her hands on her blushing cheek and waved after the boy with the other. "I can wait if you are not ready to confess."
Naruto leaned against a trash-can in the little alley-way and panted. He started to panic. He have to think of some solution, quickly.
"Sasuke Bastard. It's your fault..." when he said the name, his eyes lit up. Of course, why hadn't he thought about it earlier? Sasuke certainly wouldn't think he was crazy, if he said he was Naruto, since he could see that he was Sasuke. But of course he couldn't be Sasuke, because he would notice if he were himself. Because if he was himself, he wouldn't be Naruto and then Naruto wouldn't be there right now, but Sasuke was. So Sasuke certainly... His head slowly began to ache he would rather put the search of the logical solution away for awhile. It would be hard to explain it to himself even with illustrations.
He rushed to Sasuke's house as fast as he could. It was hard to dash while black bangs swung before his eyes. He would rather cut them off, but this hairstyle became the trademark of his teammate, he couldn't even imagine him without the raven-bangs.
When he arrived at the home of his mate he panted like never before. He has never run this fast before. (One reason must be that he had never had long legs like this.)
He knocked... no reply. He knocked again, nothing. Maybe the boy wasn't home, Naruto thought. Though it was still too early, the team's appointed date for today's mission would be hours later, but Sasuke was an early-riser.
He tried one more powerful hammering on the door, but when he still hadn't got an answer the blond thought he would look for Sasuke in the nearby training-ground, maybe the brunette went out for some morning practice.
Just when he started to get going, he saw a curtain move from the corner of his eye in one of the upstairs windows. For a moment he didn't know if he'd imagined things or not. On one hand, if Sasuke were home, he would have opened the door, in the other the person behind the drapery not in the least looked like his rival.
Burglar maybe? run through the question in Naruto's mind. One thing was sure: something wasn't right.
A strange feeling came over him, a cold-shiver run across his back. His sixth sense told him to go inside and find out what's going on, because there was already too much snap for one day.
The backdoor seemed to be the best resolution after he walked around the house and hadn't found any open window. For his surprise this door wasn't locked. Would Sasuke go out without locking everything? For the precise boy, it was like Naruto had forgotten to eat his portion of Cup Ramen at lunch. Something was really wrong.
The blond turned the handle and opened the door carefully, without making too much noise. He felt like he was a burglar himself. But he do it for his own safety, he would rather make some uncomfortable moments to others then give a chance to anybody to surprise him.
He stepped inside and found himself in the kitchen. He almost believed that everything was normal in the room when he stepped beside the sink and saw a blood-covered knife in it. His heart skipped a beat when the first image appeared in his mind: somebody wants to kill Sasuke... or he already done it!
Naruto's eyes widened and his pupils shrank. He couldn't waste his time, he had to hurry then maybe he can save his teammate.
As he went up the stairs his heart started to pound fast and hard. He felt a huge lump in his throat when he thought about what was waiting him in the room upstairs.
He tiptoed in the hallway straight to the room where he saw that person.
The door creaked cruelly, made Naruto's presence behind it obvious. The boy stepped inside. First he didn't see anything. The black drapery blocked the way from any sunshine what was naughty enough to go through the window. Even the furniture's silhouette was unseen in the pitch-black.
The boy went further inside, and groped around himself. He noticed that the room wasn't overcrowded, because he hadn't run at anything. He moved carefully, tried to glare and listen to any sound.
When he reached the middle of the room a "bump" indicated that there WAS something there after all.
With his hands Naruto could feel some cloth that was hanging on a coat stand, same height as Naruto himself. He was touching higher and higher with his hands and soon reached the end of the clothes and now felt a much softer area, but he hadn't got too much time to think about it.
Something hard bashed in his stomach. From the hit the boy lost his balance and fell to the ground. Then something suddenly grabbed his collar and pulled him up. Before he could take a breath he started to flew backwards with an enormous zip, straight against the wall.
He felt a hand clench on his neck. When it started to clear before him what was going on and he began to counter it a familiar voice cut him off:
"Naruto?" the voice was TOO familiar.
The blond stiffed on the spot, he didn't move from the wall, even when the squeeze loosened on his neck. This voice... was his own. Was he already in this stage of insanity? It echoed clearly in his mind, as his own voice asked him if he is Naruto or not. Oh God, something was really, really wrong here. Perhaps he should have gone to Tsunade instead. She was a doctor after all, maybe she handles psychical cases too.
He felt the blood rushing away from his had, he turned dizzy.
If I survive this day...
