Here it is…the FINAL chapter of Phantom Rider!

I know some of you are sad that it’s over, but don’t worry! A sequel is coming up! Okay! The chapter now, which some of you must be dying to know what happens…

CHAPTER 12: WELCOME TO THE TEAM, RIDER

Mephistopheles grins evilly, almost like the skull on his cane, just glaring at the fiery teen.

The mere mortals felt a chill in their bones just seeing the Devil. They were just scared to see him. Sam shivered but glares angrily at Mephistopheles. She can guess that it was the Devil… the one who turned Danny into a monster… the father of the evil Blackheart.

She wanted to suck him in the thermos, but Roxanne blocks her.

“You…” Ghost Rider growled. His flaming aura raises up. He was about to walk toward him, but the Phantom Rider stops him.

“No, it’s me, he wants,” Phantom Rider told, “I’ll handle this…”

He walks away from Ghost Rider and turns to his friends. “Danny, you can’t,” Sam said in worry, “What if…”

Phantom Rider said nothing, but Sam can tell that he should do this on his own. She sighs and takes the Thermos from Roxanne, and gives it to him.

He takes the Thermos and turns away. He slowly marches forward, facing the Devil himself. Sam was getting worried. What would the demonic ruler do to him? The others thought the same as well. Still, Ghost Rider could trust Danny, so he changes to Johnny Blaze again.

“Bravo Danny,” Mephistopheles finally spoke, “Hard to believe, you ended up as a half-human, half-ghost, from a anti-hero to a world hero…now a host to the powers and spiritual justice of the Ghost Rider, working for ME.”

”Call me Phantom Rider,” he replies, “What do you want?”

“I believe you know what I want,” Mephistopheles spoke. He turns to the Thermos that contains his son.

Phantom Rider lets a low rattling growl clutching the Thermos. “Obvious that you want your son back…”

“Hmph, if it wasn’t for you, the earth could have been a New Hell and all your friends’ immortal souls would have been gone from them,” Mephistopheles told, “So congrats Danny, I think it’s time that our deal ends, since you claimed my son back.”

The Rider was silent. “Yeah, about that, who said the deal is to get your own son. I believe it was my own turf to stop him.”

The Devil was stunned. “Deal? Are you saying-“

“Let’s have a deal shall we,” Phantom Rider said, “You must LOVE to make deals and bargains.”

Mephistopheles was silent. But he smiled grimly. “What do you want?”

“My immortal soul,” the Rider said, “And I want to keep the demon Rider powers.”

Ghost Rider and Roxanne look at each other. Sam, Tucker, Jazz, and Dani look at each other also in confusion. The Rider wants to keep the powers? Be a skeletal specter at night?

The Devil looked at him. “You know that I gave you that power,” Mephistopheles growled, “It belongs to me. And to trade?”

“Your son, Blackheart,” Phantom Rider said, “Plus all the evil souls you need to claim, including Vlad Plasmius. I believe, he DOES owe his soul to you…”

Mephistopheles was silent. Then, he merely laughs. “So…you’re willing to trade all that power just for your demon form and soul back?”

“They’re the evil souls from the Blood Crystal,” Phantom Rider told, “Which the Crystal is destroyed and the souls are worthless. So? Do we have a deal?”

“Danny no!” Jazz screamed, “What if it’s a trap?”

“He COULD betray you,” Johnny reminds, “Like all those souls he dealt with…”

But Phantom Rider made up his decision. He raises a bony hand, which clutches the Thermos. The Devil glances at it, knowing he’s serious. After a very long silence, he grins. “It’s a deal…”

He touches the Thermos. Black energy sprouted out of his hands when a blue light appear and entered the Rider’s ribcage. Phantom Rider groans and collapsed on the ground.

The Devil laughed holding the Thermos, dark fog surrounding him. “Take good care of your soul and powers, Danny Fenton…” It was his last words before he disappeared…

The kids and adult quickly ran to the bony figure. “Danny! Are you okay?” Sam asked worriedly. She lays a hand on the Rider’s bony shoulder.

Feeling it, he gets up with a painful moan. He somewhat grinned. “Just better to now be out of the Devil’s wrath,” he told.

The friends realize what he means. “So…he made the deal?” Roxanne asked.

“Your immortal soul’s back?” Johnny asked as well.

“Yep,” Phantom Rider smirked, “I guess we showed him who’s boss.”

“So…you’re now a fiery bony specter now,” Dani guessed.

“Not all the time…” Phantom Rider stood up. The raging ghost flames faded from his bones. Blood and flesh returned to him. A edgy biker look back to a red and white shirt and baggy jeans. The demon reverts to the mortal Danny. Danny Fenton opens his hands as fireballs formed. “Well, looks like this new power is permanent.”

Sam quickly hugs her boyfriend, following by Tucker, Dani, and Jazz. “It’s good to have you back dude,” Tucker said.

“Yeah little bro,” Jazz said rubbing Danny’s head playfully.

Danny chuckles but looks down to see the remaining pieces of the Blood Crystal which was Sam’s necklace. He leans down to pick up the ting shards. ‘Sorry for your Goth accessory, Sam.”

Sam leans down to touch the red pieces. She sighs. “Well, that’s okay Danny. It was a trinket my grandma gave me from some freaky Goth store. But I’m glad to see my boyfriend back to normal with his soul back.”

Since the two were kneeling, they then kiss each other. The couple stands up and Johnny walks forward. “So… what are you gonna do with the powers kid?” Johnny wondered.

“Eh, probably use them for good like Danny Phantom,” Danny answers.

“True, but you outta try to control that demon within you. He’s a WILD one,” Johnny said, “Oh and I think these are for you…” He passes out something to the human boy.

Danny gasped. “Whoa! Seven front row seats for your stunt?!”

“Yep, you did wanted to check it out,” Johnny recalls. He whistles and his bike rides up to him. He sat down on the saddle. “And maybe we’ll see each other again,” Johnny winks.

Danny smiled, “Johnny Blaze, thanks for everything.” The two shook hands.

“No problem Danny,” Johnny said. With a flash, he turns into Ghost Rider and rode off like the wind, only leaving a trail of fire.

The gang waves back to him. “Think we can ever see him again?” Tucker wondered.

“We’ll probably see his stunt show,” Danny said looking at the tickets.

“And before anything crazy goes along,” Roxanne said, “Think you have time for an interview.”

“Well, I guess I owe you big time,” Danny retorts, ready to answer her questions.

“Huh? Where am I?”

Vlad opens his eyes and wakes up. He was in chains and gasped in horror. He was underneath the Earth and in the abyss of Hell.

“Looks like your plan with my son didn’t work,” Mephistopheles said seeing Vlad awake.

Vlad chuckles nervously. “Mephistopheles. Good to see you again?”

“Indeed. I own your soul now and you’re stay here, back where you deserve to be,” The Devil said, “Just glad that Danny was a better servant than YOU are…” He sighs and flies away.

“Yeah, but I’m more TRICKY than he is,” Vlad smirked. He takes something out of his back…The Skeleton Key. With the key, he unlocks the cuffs. He laughs and flies away from this dastardly place…

“And that is how I became a world hero and the one and only Danny Phantom,” Danny speaks in the computer screen.

The kids were watching Roxanne’s interview with Danny from last night on Tuck’s PDA. “I bet Roxy could get a bonus for that,” Sam guessed.

“Yeah, meaning with one of the best superheroes,” Danny said, ‘And it looks like everything is back to normal.”

“Except for your new bony nightly team member,” Jazz mentions.

“Which is good,” Danny smiled looking at a mirror to see his reflection. If he can look closer, he can see an image of the fiery Phantom Rider grinning and flashing in his eyes, “Welcome to the club.”

“Ooh! Guys! Johnny Blaze is up!” Jack Fenton yelled out.

The heroes were in the Casper High Stadium which is where the stunt show takes place. There were cheering and crazy fans in the crowds.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” the announcer calls, “The Amazing Blazing Johnny Blaze!”

Everyone was in awe to see Johnny on one of his motorcycles and in his suit. The crowd goes wild for him.

“Get ready folks!” the announcer yells, “For Johnny’s latest stunt, all his stunts into ONE! Jumping off rings of fire, trucks, cars, helicopters! Can ANYONE survive this?!”

In front of Johnny were two rings of fire, about 20 cars, and in the middle, 5 helicopters as its blades whirring, threatening to slice Johnny into pieces.

“If someone can do this, Johnny Blaze can!”

Johnny revs his bike and rides off. He speeds up without any brake and then flies off the ramp. Danny and the others…EVERYONE in the stadium, stands up to see more of the action.

Johnny first flew away from the ring of fire, and then the cars, arriving to the helicopter. He was halfway there.

The crowd was getting excited. Danny leans closer to see what happens, Sam closed her eyes hoping not to see something bad happening, and Tucker crosses his fingers.

But the stuntman survived the helicopters and its blades of death. He was over the cars and then…

“He makes it!”

Johnny lands roughly, yet safely on the other ramp. The fans go wild and cheer. Danny and the gang cheers as well to see one of their heroes making it to the other side.

Johnny pumped his fist in the air with the crowd cheering more.

“Now that’s what I call a Rider!” Danny smiled and cheers more with his friends.

It will be soon after the show that the night will claim him. Throughout the week, he made new allies, a new enemy, and a new power. Thus, let the evil souls and wicked ghosts beware of the teenage mortal who transforms into the fiery specter and legends of nightmares to those who fear him... the Phantom Rider.
