Well, you asked for it, so here it is! The sequel to Explosive Secrets yah!! I normally wouldn’t put something up unless, it’s actually finished (I hand write my stories, then transfer them), but I thought, hey, Why not? So yeah, here it is. It’s another team friendship fic, but more costly focused on Greg and Griss!!

Number One Secret.”

Chapter One: Past Nightmares.

The answering machine blinked wildly, 23. Twenty Three! My gosh, couldn’t they just leave him alone; it had been three whole months. Trust the reporters of Las Vegas to never let go of a story! At least he didn’t have to listen to them all, he knew that they would all be reporters; he had brought a new cell phone, telling his friends only to ring him on that. It was of coarse then, that with a sigh he pressed the ‘delete all’ button on his machine.

He had only taken a few steps away from his phone when it started to ring, he didn’t pick it up and after seven rings the machine clicked on.

“Mister Sanders! I know you’re there... I’ve heard that you’re going back to work today. Come on, you need to share your story. The city of Las Vegas deserves to know... sigh you know who I am.”
“Hah!” Greg laughed, “Deserve? Las Vegas deserves nothing!! They wouldn’t even know if...” Greg shook his head, he was yelling at his answering machine. He did this often, way too often. Greg was so glad he would be returning to work tonight, he was going crazy staying at home.

O.O

Catherine stalked the hallways, she was furious she wanted to scream, she wanted to hit someone!!

How dare he!!” Catherine thought, “How dare he hire her instead of me! I can’t believe...”

With a sigh of frustration Catherine slumped into the couch in the break room, she looked around with bleary eyes, shaking hr head in disbelief. It had been one whole month since they had started working in the ‘new’ lab, but she still felt uncomfortable, some small part of her still couldn’t believe what had happened...

“Catherine?” A surprised voice from the doorway asked, “What are you doing here?”

Catherine looked up, “I could ask the same thing. You look good Greg,” she grinned, “and why shouldn’t I be here?”

Greg blinked, “Well I just thought you’d get the day shift position.” He flinched, “um, you’ve always wanted it.”

Catherine sighed, “I did want it,” she patted the couch beside her, Greg came over and sat down, “I didn’t get it, the Sherriff gave it to some young bimbo...”
Greg laughed, “Bimbo?”
Catherine pouted, “It’s his niece!” She yelled in frustration, “That’s the only reason! Damn him, I can’t believe after all these years...”

Greg frowned, he patted Catherine on the shoulder, “I still think you’re great Cath.”

Cath smiled, patting Greg’s hand she muttered, “Thanks kid.”

O.O

“So why did you come down so early?”

“I thought I’d get familiar with the new layout,” Greg said, “But I walked in to realise nothing had hardly changed! I mean everything’s in its original place. The only difference is well...” He leaned in to Catherine and whispered, “Is it just me or is everything bigger?”
Catherine laughed, “Yup, it is. Sherriff got permission to expand, considering he amount of work we do.”

Greg nodded, “glad to know I’m not imagining things,” he looked around the slightly changed break room, ‘Its going to take awhile to get use to this thou.”

Catherine smiled, “Don’t worry, I’m still trying to.”

Greg sighed and leaned back into the couch. That’s not really what he meant. He closed his eyes and was about to tell Catherine this when a familiar voice filled the room.

“Wow, a pair I wouldn’t expect to see today.”

Greg opened his eyes and blinked as the image of Nick standing in the doorway became clearer.

“Hey Nicky,” Greg stretched and got up to shake Nicks hand. “What can I say? I got tired of yelling at my answering machine.”
Nick laughed, “Good to see you,” he glanced at Catherine, “Do I even want to ask?”

“I was replaced by a kid who...” Cath sighed in frustration, “She’s his niece.”

Nick winced, “Ouch,” he sighed, “Well Cath, at least you still have us.”

Catherine laughed, “Oh yes, I’m so happy,” she said sarcastically. “No really, you guys are my only reason for not quitting right now.” Cath glared at nothing in particular.

Greg laughed and shook his head, knowing Cath she’ll be back to normal by the end of shift. Speaking of shift, where was everybody?

Greg looked at his watch, he opened his mouth to make some joke about the others being late, then they walked through the door.

O.O

Sara, Warrick and Griss entered the room and all sat down at the table, Greg and Nick sat down too and after a sigh of defeat, Catherine joined them.

“Well team,” Grissom stared, surveying eth group. “Vegas decided to be alive and kicking tonight.” There was a collective sigh from around the table before Griss continued, “Nicky, you have a four nineteen at The Mirage. Warrick and Cath, a double in Summerlin, Sara.” He paused, “Las Vegas Art Museum was robbed, dead guard, lots of stolen art. Should be fun.” Sara sighed. “Greg, I want you to help me with an ongoing case. I’ll fill you in on our way to the new crime scene.”

“New?” Greg questioned.

“Forth scene in a matter of weeks,” Griss told him sadly, “Get ready, we leave in ten.”
Greg nodded and left the break room, the others following, on their way to their own scenes...

O.O

Greg was making his way to the garage when he bumped into someone he didn’t recognise, but he could easily guess who it was. Her long platinum blonde hair fell to her shoulders; her bright green eyes were electric and her dress was something he knew Sara of Cath would never wear to work...

“I’m sorry,” she said, her voice high pitched, “I just didn’t see you,” She smiled, “I’m Rebecca Dustin.”

“Greg Sanders,” Greg shook her hand, “Are you the new day shirt supervisor?”
“Yes, I have no idea why thou, she paused, “I think I got this job because I’m the Sheriffs niece.”

“Yeah, that’s what Catherine said,” He laughed, “Oh; she doesn’t really like you at the moment. Be warned, being on Cath’s bad side is never good.”
Rebecca blinked, “Did I do something wrong?”

“You stole her job,” Greg muttered, “look, I have to go.” He sighed, “Cath deserves your job, you should really talk to her about it.”

“I will, and oh Greg?” Greg turned back after taking a few steps away, “I hope our relationship can be better than eth one you had with Ecklie...”

Greg flinched, “Um yeah, sure... I have to go now. Grissom will be waiting fro me.”

Greg left Rebecca standing in the hallway, confused at Greg’s reaction. Greg himself rushed down the hallway, breathing deeply and trying to control the flood of emotions that had overcome him...

O.O

“So what kind of case is this?” Greg asked Grissom as they made their way to the crime scene.

“Have a look at these,” Grissom handed Greg four files, “all four have the same element to them, rape, humiliation, murder ”

“Jesus,” Greg looked over the photos, “they’re all male victims... so young...” He paused, “Are we looking for a female serial killer?”

Griss shook his head sadly, pulling up at the crime scene he said, “We’re looking for one very sick male one.”

O.O

Greg’s heartbeat race das he followed Griss into the crime scene, they were looking for a male, one that raped young boys...Greg took a deep breath, trying to calm himself; he couldn’t help thinking that he had something in common with these victims. He had been through what they had, well; he had gone through some of it.

“In here Greg,” Grissom told him, not noticing the younger CSI’s discomfort.

Greg slowly made his way into the room; he knew something was wrong immediately.

Greg got out the files and looked at the other scenes, eh swore when he realised they were all the same.

“It didn’t happen here,” Greg said quietly, Griss frowned and turned towards him, “It’s a dump site,” Greg breathed deeply. “They’re all dumping sites.”

So, what do think, anything like you were expecting? I know the start was quite slow, but the background info is needed! I promise! Reviews are very much appreciated!!
