So happy together, a Pokemon fanfic

Hello again! I was listening to the song So Happy Together by Simple Plan and it reminded me of Pearlshipping. So it’s a one-shot song fic. Suspense at the beginning unless you read this note.

He looked over to Dawn and smiled. He’s had a crush in her for over 4 months now. He knew it was noticeable to everyone but her. Paul constantly used it to torture him, but he didn’t mind. The thought of Dawn made him extremely happy. He felt warm and happy inside. Sometimes he wished he could just walk over there and embrace is her in a loving hug.

He would do almost anything to have Dawn as his own. If only she felt the same way. What would happen if she decided to announce that her heart belonged to him and only him? How would everyone react? Oh the possibilities…..

He has told Brock. Brock asked him “Why not May or Misty?”. Neither of them were right for him. His one and only was Dawn. There was just something about her he loved. He couldn’t name it but he knew it was there. Whenever she was with him his world seemed brighter.

She just had to be the one for him! She just had to! But what if he wasn’t the one for her? No he shouldn’t think like that! No matter what they were perfect for eachother! No matter what anyone said. The only thing now is he just has to tell her.

No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

He’s seen her flirt with plenty other of boys. The main two being Paul and Kengo. It got him riled up when she flirted with Paul. That was just the price he had to pay for being so over-protective he thought. He would pay any price to be able to call her his.

He couldn’t imagine living the rest of his life without her. They would grow old together and sit outside on the rocking chairs on their porch. He chuckled. Just like in those cliché love movies.

Just hearing her voice could calm him down. Her sweet angelic voice.

He would never love anybody but her. Not Misty, not May, or any other girls he’s ever met. Only Dawn.

They’d be so happy together if only he’d get the nerve to share his feelings. He stood up inspired. ‘I’m going to do it! I’m going to tell Dawn I love her’ he thought walking over to her. Dawn looked up at him and smiled. “Can I sit next to you,” he asked. Dawn smiled again and looked at the sky above her. “Of course,” she replied. So there they were. Just sitting there on top of a small hill watching the clouds. “Dawn, there’s something I have to tell you,” he said turning to the young coordinator. Dawn’s heart started to beat faster as she heard the words. The color started rising to her cheeks as she turned to him. “Yes,” Dawn said, her attention now fully on him. He looked away as he started to speak. He was too nervous to look ay her beautiful face.

“Well, for a while now I’ve noticed I get these weird feelings around you. First I thought it was nothing. Then it got worse. I talked to Brock about it and he suggested that I was in love with you. I thought he was insane. You were just my friend. As the feelings progressed you started distracting me during my battles. I again just shrugged the feeling off. After a while I realized the feeling would not go away. I had to accept the fact that I was in love with you. As soon as I accepted it I was able to control my feelings better. They, however still didn’t go away. I realized the only way to make them disappear was to tell you my feelings. So what I’m trying to say is, Dawn I love you,” he said. He felt like a cinderblock had been lifted off his shoulders. He felt relieved. Now all she had to do was reply. It was no problem if she didn’t return his feelings. It would only destroy an extremely strong friendship. His mother always told him he was very sarcastic.

Dawn’s face turned the color of Gardenia’s Cherubi. She looked away and sighed. It was too unbelievable! He was just so perfect. He could never love her. Dawn turned to him. “I can’t believe it. The only time I’ve ever heard you speak those words to me were in my dreams,” Dawn said smiling. He grinned a huge grin from ear-to-ear. He embraced her into the loving hug he promised himself he’d always give her. They pulled away from eachother. Dawn looked at him with her deep sapphire eyes and said,” Ash, I love you too”. He embraced her once more. She looked up to Ash and gave him a sweet and loving kiss. When they pulled away Ash smiled one of the biggest smiles he’s ever gave. He swooped down to her and gave her a more passionate kiss. This one was much longer.

They pulled away from eachother reluctantly. Dawn just sat there in Ash’s arms. Together they sat watching the sunset. Ash kissed the top of Dawn’s head making her giggle and thought

‘So happy together’

I know it’s extremely unusual for me to compliment myself but I think I did a very good job. Especially since I wrote this at 2:32 in the morning. I always considered my iPod the soundtrack to my life but as I was listening to it while I wrote this story I thought it’s also the soundtrack to Pearlshipping if you think about it the right way. Ash is very ooc in this story... Oh well! He's romantic now XD Maybe I shouldn't have had all that sugar...
