What am I Mom?

A/n we’ve all wondered why Kagome’s mother doesn’t care that her daughter is able to go back and forth to the past and that she makes friends with demons. Why wasn’t she afraid of Inuyasha when she first met him? I think we all wonder these things. So what is with Kagome’s mother? Here is another Inuyasha story that I came up with. Don’t worry I’m still working on my stories A Haunting Past, Kagome and the Leafe Knights, Kagome: Dragon ninja, and the Priestess and the Clay Bomb Master. I just had to get this out of my head. So I bring you my 5th Inuyasha story What am I Mom?

Summary: A past better left forgotten. What were seals doing on the well when Kagome first got pulled in? Did some fall in before her? So many questions run through Kagome’s head on her 17th birthday when something strange happens to her. Soon she asks her mother the one question her mother has been dreading since Kagome was born “what am I mom?” What is Kagome really? What is the real story behind the well? What adventures did Kagome’s mother go on?

Chapter 1: Transformation

Kagome was excited for today was her 17th birthday. It had been 2 whole years since her journey began with her friends. Kagome had returned earlier that day from the past to spend time with her family. While Kagome was taking a bath her mother was in the kitchen.

---With Mrs. Higurashi---

Mrs. Higurashi had dreaded this day for the past 17 years. She wished this day would never come. Today the question would come up. She had been dreading that question for the past 17 years. The question she was dreading was ‘what am I mom?’ She knew in a few hours that Kagome would ask that question. There were going to be so many questions she didn’t want to answer. Mrs. Higurashi also known as Akane knew this day was going to come eventually she just hadn’t realized it was going to come so soon. She couldn’t believe it had been only 21 years since her adventures had ended.

(Akane is 37 now.)

“If only you were here darling then it wouldn’t be so hard to explain.” Thought Akane

Akane didn’t noticed Kagome walk into the room but she did when Kagome asked,

“Mom, are you alright?”

“Oh, I’m fine dear. Can you go tell grandpa and Sota that dinner is ready?” Replied a Akane with a fake smile

Kagome just shrugged and went into the living room and said,

“Sota, Gramps dinner is ready.”

Sota and Kagome’s grandfather got up from the living room and walked into the kitchen and sat down and ate. Dinner was eaten in silence even though it was Kagome’s birthday. Her grandfather knew what tonight was. He knew that his daughter was nervous.

“It’s been 17 years since the well was sealed and the spell placed. I suppose she should be nervous. Its surprised me that they haven’t asked about there father even Sota hasn’t asked. Well there are going to be many questions tonight at least Sota and I won’t be around to hear them.” Thought Kagome’s grandfather also know as Katsumo

When dinner was over it was around 9 o’clock. Sota and Katsumo left the house because they had decided to go see a movie even if it was a school night neither Katsumo nor Akane wanted Sota in the house for the next couple hours. Akane cleaned up the table while Kagome went upstairs to rest of a bit. She had decided after resting tonight that she was going to go back to the feudal era.

---Back in the Kitchen---

Akane sat at the table with her head in her hands. She didn’t want it to happen but it couldn’t be helped tonight the transformation would happen and her past would unravel. She would have to tell Kagome the truth. She knew that in one hour everything would come to a crashing halt. If only her husband was here to help her but she knew that wasn’t possible he had to stay in the other world the other time. As Akane sat at the kitchen table she heard a scream and knew it had happened. Akane didn’t get up from the table she just sat there and let everything go.

---With Kagome---

Kagome was getting changed into her pajamas when she noticed it. It was something silver on the top of her head. She looked in the mirror and realized they were silver fox ears. Then something else happened. She grew a long puffy silver fox tail. Her eyes had changed to icy blue eyes and her hair became sapphire. Kagome put her hands to her face and screamed. What was happening to her? Kagome ran out of her and down the stairs. She had to find her mother. And she soon did.

When Kagome entered the kitchen she found her mother with her head in her hands crying.

---With Akane---

Akane heard Kagome enter the room. She had heard her scream. She didn’t want to look up. She knew what she would see but she had to face her daughter.

Kagome eyes wide with fear asked,

“Mom…what happened to me? Why did I change? What am I mom?”

The question Akane had dreaded had been said. The one question that she didn’t want to answer her daughter had asked.

Kagome walked closer to her mother and asked again,

“Mom, what am I?”

Kagome saw her mother cringe at the question when she asked it. Finally she looked at her daughter after wiping the tears that were running down her face and said,

“Kagome, follow me there is something I must tell you.”

Kagome followed her mother upstairs to her bedroom. Kagome sat on her mother’s bed as her mother rummaged through the closet and pulled out a small brown box and brought it over and sat on the bed with it in her lap. She then put it next to her and then pulled something out. It was a picture frame. Of what Kagome couldn’t see because it was face down.

When Akane lifted the picture up Kagome gasped in the picture there was 6 people and small fox with 3 tails. Three of the people looked like demons and the other three were human. Akane then said,

“Kagome when I was 16 I was sent into the past. That is where I met your father. Kagome your father is a fox demon.”

A/n big cliffy there. So what do you think? So Kagome is a half demon. So Kagome’s mom was sent into the past. So is this story good or bad. Sorry if there are any grammar mistakes if there are any tell me. So please review and I will update soon. I think I’m going to update in 3 or 4 days maybe.
