Chapter One: Sorrow and a Flame

It is another beautiful day in Hong Kong and the girls are doing what they do best: shopping. The girls are having a blast; laughing and sharing any bit of gossip they heard from the day before.

“Hey, where is Tomoyo?” said a girl with auburn hair down to the middle of her back with emerald coloured eyes. She was none other than Sakura Kinomoto, the ultimate best friend of Tomoyo Daidouji.

“She had to go to confirm the interview with Crash,” said Chiharu, a red haired girl with her hair always done in two pigtails.

“Yeah, I can’t believe she got to sing with Crash! The best band ever!” said Rika, a mature for her age sort of girl. She has beautiful dark brown hair.

“I am sure that Tomoyo will get them to win the Miyumi award,” said Naoko, a red haired girl who wears glasses and is the smartest in her year group.

(A\N: The Miyumi award is like Teen Choice Awards)

“You ever heard them?” Sakura inquired.

“No, they aren’t as good as they used to,” replied Chiharu.

As if out of nowhere, Tomoyo burst through the mall entrance running with her hands holding her face and tears rolling down her porcelain cheeks.

“Hey! Look! Isn’t that Tomoyo?” said Rika.

Well, indeed that it was Tomoyo with her mascara running her face.

“Tomoyo! You look terrible! What happened?” said all the girls (except Tomoyo) at once.

The four girls took their friend to the bathroom to refresh her make-up. Tomoyo was still sobbing but was washing the black mascara off. The other four girls kept on asking questions but the only reply they got was a sob. They exited the women’s restroom.

“I know! Let’s play charades to find out what’s wrong with Tomoyo!” said Sakura.

“You got to be kidding!” shouted Rika, Chiharu and Naoko.

But Tomoyo nodded to indicate that she agreed to express her pain through this method. She held two fingers up.

“Two words”

Tomoyo nodded and then pointed at herself.

“You”

Tomoyo nodded once again, walked towards the nearby noodle shop in the food court. She pointed at the flame where the chef was preparing some stir-fry vegetables.

“You’re hungry?” Sakura said.

“You have a fever?” Rika said.

“You dreamt of being a chef?” Chiharu said.

“Are you cold?” Naoko said.

“You have heart burn?” Chiharu said.

“Is your head on fire?” Sakura said.

BONG!

Tomoyo had just hit Sakura on the head.

“How could my head be on fire?!” yelled Tomoyo.

“That’s it! You got fired?!” all girls shouted at once.

“But why?” asked Sakura.

“When they read my letter they thought I was a boy and Crash is an all boy band! Midnight, the dragon who runs pretty much the whole show, said they don’t need a girl in the band and girls aren’t cut out for this kind of stuff,” related Tomoyo.

Chiharu said slamming her fist on the table, “From the sound of it, I say that guy has serious issues!”

“My life as a singer is totally over! Sorry everyone I am not in the mood to hang, I am going home!” said Tomoyo, picking herself up and running as fast as her legs could carry her all the way home.

“We have to do something to cheer up Tomoyo,” said Sakura.

“Anybody reading my mind here? I say we throw a par-tay!” said Chiharu cheerfully.

“Make it a surprise party,” Rika added.

“Girls, we are on a mission,” stated Naoko.

There Naoko goes again…strategising about everything like if we are in some spy movie like Mission Impossible III.

Objective #1: Get new clothes

Objective #2: Get party accessories

Objective #3: Get Tomoyo to go

Objective #4: Invite everyone

Tomoyo’s Mansion 11:42 (Night)

Tomoyo strolls through the double French doors of her mansion which was now pretty dark. Sakura had taken her sightseeing, on a picnic and shopping. Tomoyo turns around to face Sakura.

“Sakura, I really appreciated taking all sorts of places today and allowing me to film you. I was surprised that you didn’t protest”

“That’s what best friends are about”

“Hey! Let’s get some candles!

“Gosh! You’re so loud that you can deafen the whole country to death why if I-

SURPRISE!!

Tomoyo: This is wonderful! Everyone is here! Megan, Danny, Jason, the whole class and what the-JUST WHAT IS HE DOING HERE?!

Why wasn’t the dragon, Midnight himself…?
