It is now the end of everything. Rest in peace, Kuran Kazumi and Kuran Kimiko. Your deaths would be avenged.

- Kuran Mansion – Memorial -

He walked towards the memorial building. The building was a large place and a place where people who wished for some peace would go there. Although there were no graves or holy places to pray, the memorial was suitable enough to do some remembering of others. But what Kuran Kazumi would be doing there was not for remembering purpose, but it had a bit of memory-related.

Kazumi opened the huge glass door and entered the place. It was quiet and dark yet clean and serene. Kazumi walked to the middle of the room. He scanned the place. There was no one except for him, and — Senri Ryou. Ryou was standing behind the corners of the room. Kazumi was able to notice him because of his aura and also due to his glowing reddish green eyes. Ryou stepped out from his hiding room and gave Kazumi a smile. ‘Hello, Kazumi-kun’ greeted Ryou.

Kazumi stayed quiet as he was before. But he answered Ryou’s greetings back. ‘Hello, Ryou-’ said him short. ‘So, are we going to talk?’. Ryou gave him a grinned as he laughed. ‘You can’t wait for the talk, eh?’ asked Ryou. ‘I came here for what you would tell me-’ said him. ‘Fine, why don’t we talk about the future first? It would be nice’. Kazumi replied that it was nice talking about the future. Both were excited on what would happen, were they?

They also talked about their sons, Kuran Kaname and Senri Shiki. ‘Etto! You know, I never got a chance to see my son’ said Ryou. Kazumi blinked and stared at Ryou. ‘So?’ asked him. ‘Well, wish I could see him soon He’s now 4 years old if you wished to know’ said Ryou. ‘Ah’.

Their conversation came to an end when Kazumi spoke up about Kimiko. ‘Kimiko, let’s talk about Kimiko--’ said him. ‘Eh?’ asked Ryou as he half-laughed. ‘My purpose of coming here it to end up everything about Kimiko. Speak up, Senri!’ said Kazumi. ‘Hmph! So rude indeed’ said Ryou as he slammed the chair behind him. ‘Alright, here is my answer, bastard!’ said Ryou as he drew more of his aura towards Kazumi.

Kazumi was not a fool, he knew that Ryou’s aura coming to harm him. That was why he was able to show him his powerful aura and matched up with Ryou’s. ‘I’m not a fool, Senri Ryou!’ cried Kazumi as his aura clashed with Ryou’s aura. ‘Damn you!’ cried Ryou.

‘Kimiko? You want to hear about Kimiko? Tell me what is her problem so we can ‘discuss’ it better’ said Ryou as he smirk. ‘Hah! You already knew, right? Six years ago, you found her and asked her what happened between me and her. Wonder why you didn’t want to talk to me those past years’.

‘Yes, I knew about your acts on her, six years ago. I didn’t come to ask you that time since I believe the offender would come and apologize, but no, you didn’t do so at all’ explained Kazumi. He was ashamed on what Ryou did to Kimiko. ‘Do you know that you lost the person who loved you, when you did something such as that?’

‘Akemi?’ asked Ryou. Kazumi nodded. ‘So what, I loved her but truthfully to be said, I love Kimiko more!’ said Ryou angrily. ‘You secretly loved Kimiko, but you were ignoring and forgetting Akemi day by day’ said Kazumi. He continued and said, ‘That could be a reason on why Akemi refused to let her son to see you, since you ignored the mother, seeing the son is not important’.

Instantly, Ryou snapped and crushed the chair that he slammed earlier. ‘Damn you, Kazumi! That boy is still my son!’ cried Ryou. His reddish green eyes glowed, and strangely both eyes started to have two colours – red and green. His strong aura made the things in the room moved a bit. The strong wind he made slightly injured Kazumi’s forehead.

Kazumi touched his forehead; he felt blood on his small wound. He wanted to curse at Ryou but only managed to open his mouth and ignored his temper. He then finally said in calm tone, ‘Every blood of a pureblood is priceless, what are you Ryou? You are angry and you almost destroy everything here!!’. His words echoed throughout the room, again, moving the things a bit. But he didn’t release his strong pureblood aura.

Ryou laughed, and said, ‘Hah! You could say all those things since you never had one like mine! But remember Kazumi, I never regretted doing whatever I did to Kimiko. It was fun, you know’. He continued and said, ‘Her breasts, her lips, and everything, oh how I wish I could just ravish her there! And it all happens around the school, not in a closed room!’.

Kazumi bit his lips, he was annoyed with Ryou’s statements about Kimiko, his wife. If he was a crazy man, he already goes and kills Ryou, but he could still think, and thus, he forget about it. But the way on how Ryou showed how he did it to Kimiko, always annoyed him. What is he? A crazy man? Sheesh! He shook his head and told Ryou to stop talking badly about Kimiko and get on with their true purpose. But Ryou ignored him and kept talking about Kimiko’s beauty and how she would perform in bed. Kazumi blushed and threw two small daggers towards Ryou, and luckily, both hit him. ‘Grr!’ cried Ryou as he snatched the daggers.

‘Let get on with the business, Senri Ryou!!’ cried Kazumi as he suddenly disappeared and in another moment he pierced through Ryou’s back with his katana. Ryou suddenly startled with the surprise attacked and gave a howl. He moved around and kicked Kazumi up in the air but Kazumi managed to escape the kick. ‘Missed--’.

Ryou ran after Kazumi and threw his ninja shuriken towards him. Again, Kazumi escaped the attack and landed on the floor calmly. Ryou wondered how in the world he managed to do such things. Ryou was annoyed, yes he was. He closed his eyes as his injuries started to heal on their own. Kazumi took the opportunity to attack Ryou but quickly Ryou took out his kodachi and slashed Kazumi on his chest. ‘Take this!’ cried Ryou. He managed to kick Kazumi shortly after her slashed him.

Kazumi jumped away from Ryou and landed with injuries on his chest. ‘Geez, never knew you read my thoughts’ said Kazumi. He went ahead and fought with Ryou with his sword and Ryou with his own sword. As their fought, both got their own injuries but they never stopped fighting, not until the opponent stop and lose the battle.

‘Kaname!’ called Kimiko. She was outside the Memorial room, unaware of the fierce battle between Kazumi and Ryou. She was looking for Kaname since he went missing while she went into the house to take some things. ‘Where are you, Kaname?!’.

((SOUND OF SWORD CLASHING))

‘Eh?’ asked Kimiko as she entered the Memorial room. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Blood, drops of bloods all over the place. ‘What happen?’ asked her as she scanned the place. She saw Kazumi, her beloved and strangely, Ryou. ‘Ryou? What are you doing here? And why are you with blood? You too, Kazumi. What happen?’ asked her.

Kazumi saw Kimiko and instantly worried of her condition. He hurriedly said, ‘Kimiko, go away now! Leave, now!’. Kimiko wondered why and refused to go away. ‘Kaname is missing, and I am searching for him. What are you two doing blood-drenched?!’ asked her as she went inside to help Kazumi. Ryou quickly dropped his sword and told Kimiko of his love for her.

Kimiko stopped walking and turned to face Ryou. ‘Didn’t I told you before, that I refused to return your love?! I thank you for your love, but I would not return my love to you! My love is for Kazumi, not you Ryou. I am sorry’ said Kimiko as she sighed. She doesn’t want Akemi to be so lonely, she wanted Akemi to be happy. Akemi must be happy and thus she must make sure Ryou forget all about her and turn to Akemi. ‘Akemi, she needs you! Return to her, learn to love her!’ said Kimiko with an encouraging look.

Looking at Ryou who didn’t answer her statements, Kimiko turned and walked towards Kazumi who was trying to tell her to leave the place. Suddenly—

((SOUND OF DAGGER PIERCING FLESH))

‘Ah!’ cried Kimiko as she fell to her knees, touching the place where she was hit. She cried in pain trying to control her emotions. She turned to look at Kazumi, who was watching her in horror. She tried calling Kazumi’s name but her voice was not heard. She fell to the floor, fainted, as her blood flowed out.

‘Ki—Kimiko--’ called Kazumi as tears filled his eyes. ‘KIMIKO--!!’. Seeing Kimiko’s lifeless body, Kazumi cried in anguish. He hated it, he hated it!! Why Kimiko must get involved in this case? Why? He asked himself the same question, and the answer came straightly to him – Ryou. Kazumi slowly turned to look at Ryou who was quiet there watching Kimiko slowly lost her blood by each seconds past. Kazumi stood up, took his sword and dashed towards Ryou, with a murderous gaze.

‘RYOU--!!’ cried Kazumi as he appeared from the top and plunged his sword to Ryou’s arms harshly, twice harsher than the first wound he gave. After the arms, he slashed the torso and the legs. Kazumi was out of control as his sword met with Ryou’s sword. They clashed with each other and blood kept coming from both of them. The floor was full with the rich and thick pureblood blood.

‘Ryou, you son of a devil! You killed Kimiko, you killed her!!’ said Kazumi in murderous glare. Ryou managed to grabbed Kazumi’s hands and forced to let go of his sword. ‘She deserved to die! Not returning my love, who does she think she is?!’ said Ryou as he tried to break free of Kazumi’s hands. ‘Don’t even think so!’ said Kazumi as he slapped Ryou’s hands and grabbed hold of the sword tighter. ‘You murdered her! You said you loved her, yet you killed her!’.

‘Like I said, she deserved to die!! Don’t make me slap you!’ cried Ryou. Immediately, Kazumi dropped his sword and punched Ryou in the face. ‘You are a bastard, Senri Ryou! You don’t deserve to live at all, never even deserve to live!’ said Kazumi as he took his sword and hovered it towards Ryou’s throat. ‘I am ready to die, but you killed my beloved wife whom I don’t want her to die, but you!!’ cried Kazumi as he slashed Ryou’s throat as it spurted blood. Ryou fell down to the floor as he got into trouble to breathe. ‘Ah! Ha! Ah! Ha!’ cried Ryou in pain.

Kazumi cried as he smiled. He finally able to kill Ryou, he was able to avenge his dead wife. He smiled and turned to left the place, but—

((SOUND OF WEAPON PIERCING FLESH))

Why? That was the first question that appeared in Kazumi’s mind. Why on earth did he was able to kill him? He turned around to see that a kodachi had pierced through his stomach, as blood finally came out from both his stomach and his mouth. Kazumi walked towards Ryou and fell down on his knees. ‘Ryou, you won’t get away easily. Someone would hunt you down and avenge both me and Kimiko. Just you wait—’ said Kazumi as he slowly fell down and passed out on the floor.

‘Kazumi?’ called Ryou. He checked on Kazumi’s life pulse and noticed it was no longer there. Kazumi is dead. Ryou crawled towards Kimiko and did the same to her. No life pulse, meaning Kimiko had passed away. Ryou looked at both of them, their faces. He felt guilty a bit, but it wasn’t his fault. They deserved to die, but then — they were both purebloods. Ryou, had killed two important purebloods and killing purebloods were considered as taboo, and this was his crime; his sin.

Ryou slowly stood up, although still injured from Kazumi slashes, he took his swords and his daggers as he walked away, leaving the two corpses left there.

--

‘Whoa--!’ said Kaname who half-screamed his parent’s names. His mouth was covered with Seiren’s hand. ‘Shh he heard you’ whispered her. Kaname cried silently as he watched his parents killed by another pureblood. But how could this happen? How, it was wrong for a pureblood to kill another pureblood. And that person killed two purebloods at once! Why? Why must it be his parents? Why, is all in Kaname’s head.

As Ryou left the scene, Kaname struggled to see his parents. After making sure Ryou left the place completely far enough, Seiren let go of Kaname. Kaname ran to his parents and saw their dead bodies. He cried over their dead bodies asking why God had made his life miserable day by day!! Suddenly, something grabbed hold of Kaname’s hands. ‘Ah!’ cried Kaname.

Kaname realized that the hand that was holding his hands was the hand of his father. ‘Papa?’ called Kaname in disbelief. ‘Kaname--’ called Kazumi. He was weak and would not stand any longer, but his will was strong enough to tell one last thing to his only child. ‘Kaname, your mother, I am sorry about what happen to her. I wish she wouldn’t come here and get herself killed, I am sorry. I’m sorry that you have to suffer this cruel thing but please accept it. Kaname, please avenge both me and your mother. We both loved you; I know you also loved us--’.

‘Papa! Mama!’ cried Kaname as his tears fell from his eyes. ‘I will miss both of you!’. He hugged both his parents. Kimiko, who woke up from her unconscious looked at Kaname’s eyes. ‘We both can’t live long, Kaname. I love you. I love you--’ said Kimiko as she kissed Kaname’s cheeks. ‘Be happy, dear. Be happy--’. Kaname swore that he would avenge them and he would try to change his life to a better life. He finally said goodbye to both of them.

Kazumi and Kimiko closed their eyes, and finally, they passed away and went to the world of the dead.

--

((SOUND OF FOOTSTEPS GOING TOWARDS THE MEMORIAL))

‘Papa.. Mama..’ said Kaname as he brushed their hairs. ‘I will avenge you, I will--’. His tears were still visible on his face. That was the first time he cried with no one to comfort him, well, Seiren was behind him and he knew she won’t disturb him at all. Suddenly, sounds of footsteps were heard by Seiren. She immediately ran towards the door and took a look on what was coming towards them. She gasped when she saw a group of the Council of Ancients members heading towards the Memorial room. ‘Oh no!’ cried her as she returned back to Kaname and grabbed his hands to hide away from the council members. ‘Ah!’ cried Kaname as he tried to keep up with Seiren. ‘Seiren! What’s wrong?!’ asked him. Seiren looked at him and told his to be silent. He nodded and followed her.

They ran away from the scene and hid behind the pillars that were not visible to naked eyes since it was covered with bushes of plants. Seiren whispered to Kaname to keep quiet while she spies on the council members. Kaname nodded again to make sure she understood.

The council members entered the Memorial room and were shocked when they saw the bloody scene. ‘Oh my goodness! What happened here?!’ asked Ichijou Asato. ‘This place reeks with blood!!’. The other council members wondered what had happened as they looked for clues around the place. Suddenly, Asato realized two dead bodies of familiar people. ‘Oh no! Kuran-sama!’ called him as he went to them.

The council members gathered around Kazumi’s and Kimiko’s dead bodies. They could not believe that the two Kurans were dead, at the same place. ‘This is terrible! Kuran-sama and his wife are purebloods! Killing purebloods is considered as taboo!’ said a council member. The rest agreed with what he was saying. ‘Whoever who did this should be punish!’ said another council member.

Seiren noticed that Asato was searching for something else, and she sensed he was looking for both of them. ‘No-’ said her quietly. She grabbed Kaname’s hands and signaled to him that they would be fleeing. Kaname refused to leave his parents, but he followed Seiren quietly since he knew how dangerous it was to be with the council. Both of them crawled quietly and slowly until they entered a small hole to escape.

- Kuran Mansion – Outside a bit farther from the Memorial room -

Kaname and Seiren managed to escape from the Memorial room. It was a scary experience they both encountered. Seiren lead Kaname somewhere far from the Memorial room. Kaname followed wherever Seiren was heading.

Seiren opened a small gate and entered through it, as Kaname followed from behind. As they reach their destination, Kaname saw Kenren, Seiren’s father. He wondered why Kenren was there all along. ‘Kenren-san!’ called Kaname as he greeted him. ‘Hello, Kaname-sama. Are you okay?’ asked Kenren. He looked at Kaname’s sad face and guessed that something bad had happened. ‘Your father told me to protect you and your mother. I will do whatever your father asked me to. Where is your mother?’ asked Kenren. Kaname looked at him and doesn’t know what to answer.

‘Father, Kimiko-sama.. Kimiko-sama, she’s--!’ said Seiren but she wasn’t able to finish her sentences. ‘What happened? What happened to Kimiko?!’ asked Kenren. He was worried something might happen to Kimiko, and sadly, something did happen to him. He gave a sound of growl. ‘Why! Damn him!!’ cursed him.

Seiren asked Kenren if he knew who killed both Kazumi and Kimiko, and Kenren answered it was Senri Ryou. Kaname looked up at Kenren and asked about this person known as Senri Ryou. ‘Kaname, remember this, Senri Ryou, he is a dangerous man indeed. Stay away from him, you are still young, you must never ever talk or do anything with him. He is a crazy man, Kaname. He is a crazy man-!’ said Kenren. He told Kaname about how evil Ryou was when he was young, and also about both Ryou and Kazumi fighting to get Kimiko’s love. ‘That person was father’s love rival?’ asked Kaname. Kenren nodded.

‘I promised father and mother that I will hunt him down! He ruined my family, and I may as well ruin his!’ said Kaname. ‘No, you mustn’t, not at this time. You are still quite young, and you should be very careful’ said Kenren. He told Kaname about the Council of Ancients. ‘I don’t know about this, Kaname. But when they found out that you are still alive and now alone, they would try to take you away from me!’.

Kaname gasped and told Kenren he preferred him more than the Council of Ancients. ‘I don’t wish to become their puppet! No, never!’ said Kaname as he started to cry. Kenren stopped him and told him never ever reside on anyone’s side, especially the Council. ‘Be careful, Kaname. The council have all the rights to take you as one of their underlings, they would do anything to take you away from people who supported your parents--’ said Kenren.

Kaname nodded. ‘Don’t worry, Kenren-san. I won’t allow them to master my mind! But that person, that person!! Argh!!’ cried Kaname. He went around and fell down to his knees as he cried like crazy. ‘ARGHHH!!’ cried him hard as he cried. ‘Stupid, evil person!! Why?!’.

((SOUND OF KANAME’S CRYING OUT LOUD CRAZILY))

‘ARGHHH!!’ cried Kaname as he cried hard. Kenren comforted Kaname as Seiren tried to calm him down. ‘Shh! They heard you and then easily they could know that you were there!’ said Kenren. This made Kaname stopped crying. ‘I am sorry, my emotions are not stable--’ said Kaname. He wiped his tears and walked towards the small gate. ‘I’m going to them. I will act like I know nothing at all’ said him.

- Kuran Mansion – Memorial -

Seiren and Kenren followed Kaname back to the Memorial room. While they almost reach there, they saw many more vampires around the place. When they saw Kaname stood near the Memorial room, they whispered to one another. Kaname could hear them but chose to ignore them. It was irritating. Kaname walked inside and saw Asato. He asked Asato about what happened. ‘Ichijou-san, what happened? This is the place of my family, the Kuran. Without any reasons, why are all of you here?’ asked Kaname. Asato looked at him and told him about what happened to Kaname’s parents. He wouldn’t dare to show Kaname to the dead bodies, but it was important for him to know what had happened.

Kaname followed Asato towards the Memorial room. As he entered the room, he froze at the door. He couldn’t enter the room anymore, he was here before, he saw the murder, and he saw everything! ‘Kuran Kaname-sama?’ called Asato. Kaname blinked twice and followed his steps again. ‘I am sorry, what happen here--? Ah!’ said Kaname as he covered his mouth and started crying. ‘Papa! Mama! How come?!’ cried him as he tried to get himself to them but Asato stopped him. ‘Let me be with them! Let me!’ cried Kaname as he kept crying. ‘Let’s go out, Kaname-sama!’ said Asato as he brought Kaname out from the room.

Kaname was taken outside the Memorial room, as he met back with Kenren and Seiren. He sulked with small anger. He was annoyed with Asato’s treatments. It was his own parents who got killed, and yet he can’t touch them? He was extremely pissed. Really pissed off!!

‘Kaname-sama, I’m sorry for what happened to your parents. To ensure your safety, I had decided that I will become your guardian then--’ said Asato. Kaname looked up at Asato’s face. ‘Guardian?’ asked Kaname. Asato nodded and explained, ‘If I am your guardian, then I can ensure of your safety. No hunters or anything would come to hurt you. You will be under we Ichijou’s protections--’. Asato was hoping Kaname would accept the offer.

Kenren, hurt with the offer came towards both Asato and Kaname and disagreed with his idea. ‘Listen here Ichijou-san, Kazumi had told me if anything were to happen to him, his son would be under my care! That also means you can’t take Kaname away from me without my own concern!’ said Kenren. He was doing what Kazumi wanted him to do, even if it meant that only one person was left to be protected and that was Kuran Kaname himself.

Asato told Kenren that he was doing the best for Kaname, but Kenren opposed it again. ‘Kazumi told me to protect his son, and I would do it! You can’t change the fact, Ichijou-san!’ said Kenren. Asato was definitely angry with this opposition. He glared at Kenren, and Kenren stepped back. He could felt the strong power of the Ichijou’s.

Kaname thought about the idea and told Asato and Kenren to stop quarrelling. ‘I made my decision already. As the current head of the Kuran family, I decided that I will go under the Ichijou’s protection. I will have you, Ichijou Asato to become my guardian. However, I wish you would give me my own freedom, if not, I will refuse to be under your protection--’ said Kaname. His mood changed a lot after his parents were dead. He was changing.

‘Kaname-sama, of course! You are a pureblood vampire, I will give you your freedom, anytime you want. I promise you, you will get it--’ said Asato. He was glad that finally the young pureblood prince finally fell into his trap. Hah, I am not stupid, Asato! Never am stupid! I know of your plan, and I will kill you for that honest plan of yours.

‘Now, let all of us go and take your things, Kaname-sama. I suspected that you don’t wish to live in your old home anymore?’ asked Asato. Kaname nodded. ‘I don’t know, but staying here will give me bad dreams. I wish to go elsewhere, somewhere new’ said Kaname. Asato nodded and lead the way.

Before Kaname followed Asato, he managed to glance at both Kenren and Seiren. He was smiling and whispering something, but what? Seiren wondered what did Kaname said, but Kenren nodded. Seiren looked at her father and planned to ask him later. She was sad that her good friend would be leaving her. ‘Kaname, we will still be friends. Even if it meant we won’t see each other anymore--’ said her as she went close to her father. ‘Let’s go--’ said Kenren. ‘Yes, father’ said Seiren.

- Senri Ryou Mansion – Back Gate -

The badly injured Ryou returned home, only to see his beloved wife, Akemi, to stand there, waiting for him. She didn’t show any emotions, only showing a straight face. Ryou saw her and ignored her to go back inside the house and clean himself. As he passed Akemi, she stopped him.

‘What?’ asked Ryou with his stern face. He refused to talk about himself, he was wound hard and wish to be healed. Akemi looked at him and asked him what happened. ‘Ryou, what happened to you? You were full with injuries--’ asked her. He shook his head and wished to go inside but Akemi stopped him and asked the same question. ‘What happen?!’ demanded her.

Ryou pushed her and said nothing happened but she knew, he was lying to her. Instantly, she grabbed Ryou’s shoulders and went to his neck. She sniffed the neck and licked it. But her purpose was not to heal him, but to —

‘Argh!’ cried Ryou as he almost lost his balance. ‘You!’ cried him as he tried to remove Akemi who was biting him hard. Akemi refused to let him go and bit him as hard as she can. ‘It hurts!!’ cried him. She felt annoyed and looked at him, as she said, ‘It’s the same when you bite me, and it hurts like hell!!’. She continued biting him and drained his blood. ‘Ah, yummy! It was tasty indeed, Ryou-sama’ said Akemi as she drained Ryou’s blood completely and he slowly lost coconscious.

Akemi smiled with the unconscious Ryou, as she said, ‘Now Ryou-sama, you are finally mine’. She then took him inside to put him into a place where his body could die but his soul could still be alive.

--

This would not be the end, Ryou. You won’t get away with this, you would never would. Your hatred towards me are now gone, but you had transferred the hatred to someone else, to my son, Kuran Kaname. Prepare to die, Ryou!

(END)

A/N: I know Purebloods can heal themselves as fast as they could, but at this part of story, the characters blood flowed out too much, thus making them weaker and ended up die. I hope you would understand this. Senri Ryou, if followed with chapter 31 of Vampire Knight, is Kaname’s relative (under the name Kuran Rido), but in this story, Ryou and Kazumi are not related.
