-- General P.O.V.--

- Gaara had arrived in Knonoha about two minutes ago with Temari and Kankuro. Currently, he was asking directions for finding a certain house.

Kankuro wasn’t helping any; he was laughing and making fun of Gaara about who he was looking for while Temari had spotted Shikamaru with Chouji and had run off.

“Gaara?” he heard a voice behind him.

Naruto ran up to him smiling. “Whatcha doing here?” he asked.

“I’m looking for someone. Could you tell me directions to their house?” Gaara asked, stating their name.

“Oh yeah! They live down the street, around the corner to the right. Second building. But they’re not home.” He told Gaara, pointing in the general direction.

“That’s fine. I can wait. Thank you.” Gaara told him.

“Anytime!” Naruto replied.

“Take Kankuro with you.” Gaara said, turning the direction Naruto had said. He paused for a second, “Please?”

“Gaara’s in love. He wants to be alone so the can kiss and-“ Kankuro said in a sing song tone.

“Sure.” Naruto said, as Gaara’s eye twitched.

“Thank you.” Gaara said, and proceeded to follow the directions to the house. When he got there, he found it empty like Naruto had said. He used the sand in his gourd to unlock the door and entered. Gaara wandered around for a short amount of time, examining the kitchen, living room, and bedroom. He noticed that there was a picture of him on the dresser when something aught his attention.

There was a fuzzy foot under the closet door.

He opened it to reveal a pyramid of dolls several layers tall.

And one that looked as if it had fallen from the top. The doll that had fallen was a beat and looked just like his teddy except that it was green.

He petted down the slightly stuck up fur and noticed that it was quite worn out and had tearstains on the top of its head. Gaara frowned and hugged it gently as he examined the pyramid.

It seemed like it was on a platform. On the bottom were miniature dolls of the rookie nine, the sand siblings, Maito Gai’s team. The next level contained the senseis of said teams, Iruka, and the proctors for the Chuunin exams. The third level was of the 5 hokages. The other levels consisted of stuffed animals with varying colors and degrees of being worn out.

Gaara stood up and was about to place the bear on the top of it when he noticed that contrary to what he believed before, the inside was completely hollow. He saw another doll inside, but it was too dark inside the pyramid to see it. He used the sand to go into it and pull the doll out. It was a doll of him. Gaara took the doll from his sand and picked up the teddy bear, walking out into the living room. He sat down and examined the doll.

It was exactly like him now, with his kazekage outfit. He patted its head and wondered what this meant and where they had gotten these dolls.

He didn’t have long to wait; soon he heard footsteps then the lock clunked open.

Lee opened the door and did a double take when he saw Gaara sitting on his couch. “Gaara-sama? What are you doing here? How did you get in?”

Gaara didn’t respond, just tilted his head at the leaf nin and held up the Gaara doll with a raised, nonexistent, eyebrow. “Why was this hidden?” he asked as Lee closed the door behind him and locked it.

Lee blushed. “I, uh, did not want the colors to fade?” Lee suggested, sitting down next to Gaara.

Gaara glanced at Lee’s expression to make sure, though he already knew that Lee was avoiding the truth. “Who is this?” Gaara asked, giving Lee the green bear.

Lee grinned and hugged it close. “This is Rocky. I have known him since I was born!”

“What about this one?” Gaara asked, handing him his doppelganger.

“It is you.” Lee said with a confused look.

“You still haven’t given me the reason why it was hidden.” Gaara evaluated.

“It fell.” Lee said.

“Don’t lie.” Gaara told him flatly.

“It is special.” Lee finally admitted in a hesitant tone. “Well… you are.” He said with a smile.

Gaara gave him a questioning look.

“You are the only one who makes me feel really… happy… and it hurts sometimes. I think… I like you.” Lee explained, continuing to smile.

Gaara furrowed his non existent eyebrows at this improbable fact that he was now faced with. “How can you?”

Lee shrugged. “I just can.”

Gaara frowned and Lee could see the confused and sad expression behind the mask.

“You are just like everyone else.” He told the sand nin. “True, your past may be different, but you are still human, and the future is better for everyone. And at the present.” Lee chastely kissed Gaara on the lips, “You are here. So why do we not make the best of it?”

“Doing what?” Gaara asked, his hand unconsciously touching his lips.

“Tell me about your doll collection.” Lee replied. “I am sure your brother made you a lot, right?”

A/N: Well… I don’t like this one much. But at least I was able to edit it into making some sense. –Shrug- I typed it up for Cruixe (sorry if that was misspelled) cuz she can only find crappy Neji/Lee stuff. -
