Me: Yay!! It's the last chapter!! Since it's the last chapter I will let Light, Naruto, and Ichigo Kurosaki, tell the blonde joke.

Ichigo: Ok so There's a pick up with a brunette, a red head, and three blondes in a pickup the blondes were in the back and the red head and the brunette were in the cab they drove over a cliff into a river.

Light: The red head and the brunette lived but the three blondes drowned. Why?

Naruto: They couldn 't get the tailgate open!!

Chapter 8

The Gift of the Elves

Gregor gulped as he looked into the cave. “We don’t seriously have to go in there, do we Ares?” No answer Gregor turned and looked at him. “We don’t have to go in there, right Ares?” Ares fluttered nervously.

“Well, Luxa, Ripred, Temp, Aurora, Twitchtip, Boots, Lizzie it was nice knowing you.” Gregor said getting on Ares. “Ready Ares?” He asked.

“Yes I am ready.” Ares said his voice sharp and scared. “And you Overlander are you ready.” Gregor let out a sigh.

“Yeah I am.” Gregor said. Ares flew into the cave. After they were inside Gregor asked Ares a question. “Ares does dying hurt?”

“Yes at first then you just feel numb.” Ares replied. Gregor sighed. “Don’t worry Overlander we won’t die.”

“You don’t sound too confident.” Gregor said. Ares laughed with his ‘Huh huh huh’ sounding laugh Gregor laughed too it helped to lighten the mood. As they neared the back of the cave it started to feel abnormally hot as if the cave was on fire not to mention they noticed that the cave was getting lighter. When they reached the end of the cave they saw it. Gregor could only gape. That thing was huge!! It was black and seemed to blend in with the darkness. There were a couple torches on the walls lighting up the room. The demon’s eyes glowed red.

“Ares?” Gregor asked. Ares didn’t respond for a second or two.

“Yes Overlander?” Ares asked.

“In case we don’t get out of here I just want to say it was nice knowing you.” Gregor said.

“Don’t worry Overlander we’ll survive this.” Ares said encouragingly. And with that they launched themselves into battle.

The demon swung what looked like a whip of fire at them. Ares rolled to avoid it. Ares flew around the back of the cave.

“We need to get closer Overlander.” Ares said. Gregor shook his head.

“No remember what happened last time.” Gregor said. “I’ll just fight him at a distance.” Ares ignored Gregor and flew in closer. Gregor let out an exasperated sigh. But went along with Ares plan and swung at it and he managed to strike it on the shoulder causing it to let out a cry.

“One more time Overlander?” Ares asked.

“Yeah.” Gregor said. “Try to get closer this time so I can take him out.” Ares flew in again. This time Gregor stabbed at him and nailed him in the chest. He let out a low moan mixed with a high pitched cry. Then it seemed as if he turned to dust.

A few hours later they were standing in the palace with Galadriel. She smiled at Gregor and Ares.

“We thank you for your services.” She said. “Please accept this gift as our deepest thanks.” She held her hands a little ways apart then spread them as a ball of light appeared then growed bigger and bigger finally she released it and it floated up to the ceiling by this time it was huge and Gregor could see a long ways off.

“What is it.” Luxa asked in wonder.

“It is an artificial sun that we elves created because we can’t live without sun.” Galadriel replied. “Just like the real sun it dims when night falls it shall give light to all the races that have helped the Overlander if they want it.” She said smiling at the bats. “I must go now.”

“Ares will fly you.” Luxa said. After they had gone Luxa turned to Gregor. “What will you do now Overlander. Will you return home?”

“I don’t have a home in the Overland any more Luxa…” Gregor said. “To be honest I don’t know what I will do.”

“I was hoping you would stay here with me.” Luxa said smiling. “After all I’m not engaged now that Howard is dead. I would have no one to marry.”

“I would love to stay with you Luxa as long as my sisters agree.” Gregor said turning to Lizzie and Boots. “Lizzie? Boots?”

“I want to stay Gregor and so does Boots.” Lizzie said.

“Well it’s decided then.” Gregor said turning back to Luxa and kissing her gently.

“Don’t do that.” Ripred said. “There are children in the room.” Gregor smiled. The Underland was always his home.
