Sora’s eyes shot open.
Four suspicious teenagers grew alarmed, each of them falling back in surprise. The tallest one quickly recovered from being stunned and moved quickly to retrieve a bat. The girl who had sat in silence suddenly stood in front of the brunette, her arms flew out to protect him. They all spoke, yet Sora could not hear them. His eyes filled with curiosity, leading him to look all over the small room while the others squabbled.
He scanned his clothes suddenly noticing that he was soaked from head to toe. It was no wonder he felt so heavy and all the time he had come to believe he gained weight!
His thoughts snapped at another thought. Sora had only remembered nearly drowning on his way and fighting the ocean’s currents. He examined the group, examining their clothing. They did not dress as the teens in Destiny Islands so there was no way he could be back. The question burned in his mind, causing him to suddenly walk to the group. “Excuse me, but where exactly am I?” He asked.
The girl looked at the boys, almost as if asking for their approval to answer. Each one of them nodded for her to walk forth. Hands in front of her stomach, she looked down, unable to make her eyes meet his. Sora’s head fell to the right to try to get a shot of her face. She reddened and took a step forth, unable to contain a short giggle. The oldest rolled his eyes at her weakness, crossing his arms.
“First you’ve got to answer some of OUR questions, stranger.” The trio glared at the tallest boy.
Sora glared at him, tempted in leaving these good for nothings. But if he was going to get some answers Sora had to oblige by what they wanted. Pushing all thoughts aside, Sora simply sat on the couch nearby.
The oldest observed him. “What’s your name? Where did you come from? How’d you even get here?” He asked.
“My name’s Sora.” Sora replied. “I kinda floated here…whatever place this is, from Destiny Islands.”
They looked at one another before accepting his explanation.
“Destiny Island isn’t too far away but to float here is a journey.” The larger boy said. Sora looked down, unsure of how to respond to that. What if he had carelessly drowned?
A boy with the same height compared to Sora sat beside him. “Sorry for scaring you. My name is Roxas. This is Pence,” The larger boy smiled and waved from a distance. The girl from before had gathered up the courage to look at him straight in the eye. Roxas smiled. “And this is Olette.”
Their eyes locked onto one another. Sora scratched the back of his head as a taint of red threatened to appear on his face. Ignoring the girl for a moment he turned his attention towards the stubborn one in the group.
“You guys wouldn’t happen to know some kid named Hayner?” Sora asked. This got his attention. He quickly turned, crossing his arms.
“Who wants to know?” He asked. Sora nodded, confirming his thoughts from earlier on. Ansem did mention that the leader acted like he had a stick shoved up his ass. The brunette held back a chuckle at the thought, wondering who had placed it up there in the first place. Of course only Ansem would know someone like this. It was a good thing Sora could contain his anger now, if he had met Hayner earlier the two would always be at it.
He owed everything to Kairi.
‘Kairi... ’ Sora felt his head start to ache.
“Since Ansem told you about me I’ll have to trust you for now.”
Hayner laid out his hand towards Sora.
By taking his hand Sora would be vowing never to return to Destiny Island, to meet someone who would change his life for the better like Kairi had done, he would never see his mother or that bastard fake father. It would be good bye to Riku forever and all the morals he once believed.
‘Kairi…’
SoraxKairi
Kairi…
An unpleasant touch alarmed her.
Her arms reached down to her knees, her hands wrapped around the object that threatened to peel her skin. She slowly opened her eyes to see her high heel and threw it across the room. Kairi sighed in relief, shifting her position in bed to wrap her arms around the body next to her. Kairi pressed her face against his naked back, leaving trails of kisses on his spinal cord and up to the back of his neck.
Her touch threatened to consume him.
A lazy tone of voice suddenly broke the silence.
“You want to go another round?”
Kairi jumped at his voice all while Sora wrapped his arms around her waist. She smiled softly at him and pressed her face against his chest as he gently traced his fingers along her back. Sora’s grip tightened around her waist as they lay in silence. However despite it the two knew Namine would enter the room at any given moment, and terrorize them out of bed with Riku’s cooking.
“Seems like years have gone by since I last saw you…” Sora whispered. The statement threatened to fit under the sarcasm category.
“It has been years.” Her words were dry at the memories. Sora shivered at her tone of voice and planted a wet kiss on her forehead, begging for forgiveness.
He smiled as Kairi fell into his gaze. She reddened as he mounted on top of her. Her eyes roamed around his naked body, threatening to fall on to the biggest part of him. She giggled at the thought, causing Sora to shoot her a questioning stare. “There will be no giggling when we make sweet love my dear.” He commanded. His face reached close to hers, their lips not too far apart from one another.
To Kairi it took him nearly minutes to lean in close to her virgin neck. His fingers massaged them so softly it sent waves of pleasure down her spine. In their moments together Kairi could remember how he failed to give her a decent message, making her sore for more days than intended.
“You know,” Sora began, making his way down to her breasts. He cupped them softly, messaging the ends of her nipple. “I hate the fact that you let other guys kiss you and touch you.” As possessive as that might’ve sounded Kairi had felt the same way. She would kill someone if she found out Sora was with another girl. It was a good thing neither of them were very committed to settling down with other people.
“Your touch is all I want.” Kairi moaned. Her hands quickly tugged at his hair, pulling him down to her chest. He chuckled at her impatience. Sora had always wondered how it would feel like to make love to Kairi-that was before he decided to leave Destiny Islands. And like most teenagers he’d gathered up his knowledge of sexual positions and techniques from porn. To say he wished to do them all would be an understatement; he wanted to know it all.
And experiment of course.
Thoughts were interrupted as Kairi dug deep into his back. Sora smiled. “I’m going to make sweet love to you.” He whispered.
Kairi shut her eyes just as he spread her legs and…
“Rise and shine!”
Quickly thinking Kairi grabbed the sheets from under Sora, wrapping it around her naked body. Sora fell to the floor, grabbing a pillow to cover up his private. The two glared at the blonde who shot them a quirky smile, oblivious to their dirty activities. She turned to Kairi and observed her messy hair. “Kairi, you should consider brushing your hair every now and then!” She failed to notice that she had been stepping dangerously close to his groin.
Kairi and Sora glared at her.
“Namine!”
SoraxKairi
Kairi held the urge to hold back her tears.
The man that sat before her was the man she thought she was in love with. She questioned their relationship two days prior to this night. Whether or not she was glad she realized this before he would pop the question was good or bad was not known. Silently she prayed that he would not dare ask her the question. She just hoped he would dump her for someone younger and better looking. Anything BUT a marriage proposal.
Her prayers remained unheard.
“Will you marry me?”
To marry was to commit. Commit to one man only. Kairi was married to Sora’s heart.
To reject a marriage proposal was something Kairi didn’t want to get used to, but deep inside she wanted to hear those words from Sora. How could she when he was so far away?
“Namine!”
Kairi sobbed as the blonde girl held her closely. Namine shot Riku a look of despair, wanting nothing more but to make the tears stop from flowing down her best friend’s face. But at this point there were no words of comfort that would help her. Sora was officially gone from their lives, to return in long time’s doing. The only question that remained in the air is why the brunette chose to run away instead of to face his problems.
“I couldn’t…” Kairi sobbed. “I refused to get married. What if I did something wrong?” She asked. Namine looked at Kairi’s hand, the engagement ring that was now invalid. Slowly the blonde slipped it off her finger and handed it to Riku. “I wanted to get over that boy…it’s been years and yet every time the word love escapes my mouth I can’t help but think of him.”
Riku’s fists tightened, unable to think of anything to say.
“Do what your heart tells you.” Namine explained. “Even if you were to marry you wouldn’t have been happy because you think of him right? It’s good to let go but maybe you just can’t…because fate wants you two to end up together?”
Riku looked at her.
“Namine, don’t put ideas in her head.” He said. Namine whispered an apology, helping Kairi up to her feet. Kairi took the ring, wiping her eyes. She knew Namine and Riku were trying to help but at this point no one would be able to help. Everyone was just out of her reach. If only she could see Sora once more and finally get over him! But Kairi knew Sora’s feelings for her must have died long ago and for all she knew he could have fallen in love with another.
“It’s been a while since you’ve cried like this…three to be exact.” Namine pointed out. Kairi held on to her sob, chocking on it before swallowing it all back. Her hands dried her eyes and suddenly she stopped. With the ring in her grasp, she hovered over the kitchen sin before letting it go into the drain. Riku and Namine gasped as Kairi let the water run. The two guessed it was her idea of moving on, destroying evidence of any lovers at any chance she got.
“How can someone be in love with another person…when he’s dead?” She wondered. The two looked at one another. “I haven’t heard from him for three years. Is he even in Twilight Town? Why can’t he visit us if it’s an hour away? Why couldn’t he call? Or write?” She fell down to the floor.
“You’re drunk?” Riku asked. Kairi was never the type to act up, of course only when she was drunk. That was the only time Kairi would ever end up talking about Sora. And it wasn’t often; it was only on a few occasions like holidays or dates. But because Kairi had broken off her second engagement it must have been the sudden depression that had caused her to suddenly drink. “Don’t talk about him. He wouldn’t want to see you like this.”
Kairi nodded.
“That didn’t stop him from leaving us…”
There was a dreadful silence.
Suddenly Kairi slipped herself into Riku’s arms just as she fell asleep. Riku was quick in his reflexes to catch her. Namine hovered over her tired friend and planted a soft and friendly kiss on her forehead for sweet dreams.

“What the-”
Leon caught sight of Sora exiting Kairi’s room who attempted to sneak back into his own. The brunette frowned at the sight and caught him by the collar of his shirt. Being that Sora was no longer the scrawny kid from before Leon couldn’t exactly lift him up. Instead he pinned the boy against the wall with a frightening pair of eyes that threatened to read his mind. Smiling, Leon looked into his eyes. Sora shut them closed and covered his face.
“I give up!” He cried.
Leon frowned at his surrendering. “My little sister is marrying a wimp!” He teased, letting his grip loosen. “So how are you and the kiddo doing? She’s forgiven you?”
Sora scratched his head. “Not all the love making in the world could get her to forgive me. Unfortunately I have to marry her-” Leon slapped him upside his head. “Just kidding!”
“I’ve got some questions for you.” Leon began, grabbing his keys. “Let’s grab a bite. I’m sure Kairi won’t mind since mom is taking her out shopping. And I doubt mom wants to see you right now.” Sora’s face crashed at his statement.
Parents never did favor him…
He shrugged, ignoring the situation between Kairi’s mother and himself. “It’s cool with me so long as you’re paying for it.”

“Whoa slow down there!”
Roxas couldn’t help laugh as he watched Sora scarf down piles of food in less than seconds. People who passed by watched and left in disgust after a minute of watching him eat. Despite how disgusting he ate, Roxas couldn’t help but stare at his best friend. “You’ll choke if you don’t slow down!” He warned. Sora knew best by heeding his friend’s words. And he learned that from experience too.
Sora swallowed his food hard. “Okay I know you didn’t just want to grab a bite with me because we could have done it with the others. What’s on your mind?” Of course over time Sora had developed a keen eye for sensing distress between his friends. This situation was no different.
“It’s just…it’s been a while since we found you. Remember? I think next week makes it a whole year.” He pointed out. Sora pushed back his plate, the remembrance of his arrival caused his appetite to be spoiled. “You told you needed to get away from something. The cops right? But there’s more to the story…right?”
“Um…no not really.” Sora replied. Roxas stared at him hard and noticed the brunette was suddenly avoiding eye contact. “You can tell me…I’m your best friend aren’t I?”
“You can tell me! Riku- your own best friend!”
A migraine threatened to ruin Sora’s day.
“Why do you wanna know? It’s not interesting-”
He could have easily made Roxas drop the subject but this was more than curiosity.
“I’ll tell you my secret if you tell me yours!”
Sora suddenly grinned. What kind of dirty secret would innocent Roxas have that no one knows about?
“What is it? You borrowed a book from the library two days overdue?” He roared in laughter while Roxas sat there stunned.
Looking at his hurt face caused Sora to shut his mouth up. He leaned forth towards Roxas and sighed. He really didn’t like to see Roxas hurt because his eyes resembled that of a kicked puppy. It’s not like Sora didn’t want to inform him, however the moments spent on Destiny Island were painful just as the memories. He had left so many things behind.
“If I tell you, you can’t tell anyone else. This will be the only thing between you and me.” He began. Roxas smiled and nodded. “I left Destiny Islands to get away from this whore who claimed to be pregnant with my kid and I didn’t wanna have any part of the kid’s life so I ran away like a coward-”
“Can’t you be serious!?”
Sora grew a serious face and sighed. “Her name is Kairi.” He started. “Lacked in the T&A department but she was very pretty. In a way I thought she was just like me, very lonely. I guessed wrong but along the way I still managed to get some feelings for her. I have no idea what happened…between us. I was so scared that I would treat her in a bad way. I used excuses to leave but the reality is…”
“You’re scared of love?” Roxas asked.
“More like commitment.” He corrected. “I don’t think I can ever go back…maybe she’s found someone else.”
“Is that why you won’t return your feelings for Olette?”
Sora’s mouth opened. “She likes me?”
The blond could only roll his eyes. “Obviously.”
“Well then let’s drink to it!” Sora beamed.
“We’re underage.”
His laughing came to a stop as soon as he realized that his logic-for-his-own-too-good friend was right. “It’s not that I don’t like Olette. She’s pretty cute but she’s just a friend. And Kairi is-”
“I understand…” Roxas cut in.
Sora scratched his head. “So you’re secret…” Roxas looked down, reddening.
“You don’t have to tell me until you’re ready.”

“Have you been having sexual intercourse with my sister?”
Sora felt sweat run down his forehead. “N-No!”
Leon growled. “The lie detector proves your lying!”
“Well of course I’m having sex with her! We ARE engaged!” Sora defended. “Besides I promise you that we never did it when we were younger. She wouldn’t give in anyway-” A smack. “Not that I would ever pressure her to.”
“During your time apart with my sister did you have any kind of relationship with another girl?” Leon asked.
“No-” Another lie followed by a smack. “Okay just two or three girls but I really didn’t care for them!”
“Why did you run away?” Leon asked.
“To get away from my mother.”
“That’s the truth. Is that all those reasons?” Leon asked.
“Yes-” It was another lie with of course, another smack following behind on the alongside of his head. “I was scared of going to jail.”
It was the truth too but not as quite complete.
“Can I get off now? I feel so nervous being interrogated like this!” He exclaimed.
Leon sighed. “Fine but I don’t want you lying to my sister like you did with me.”
Sora looked away.
“…truth is difficult.”
