A/N: Sorry about the delay, the files on my flash drive were corrupted. So I lost everything. The end has come...
She struggled to focus on the item that was sitting directly in front of her. Olivia was so tired from the night before that she was finding it impossible to do anything but sit and pretend like she was working. She hated being a Deputy; it felt like a demotion.
She had gone from being a respectable detective to a Deputy that no one would talk to, simply because she had refused to push Johnny away because everyone else had done it. Olivia liked Johnny—he was the first man she had met since the passing of Elliot that understood what it was like to lose everyone and everything so quickly.
Olivia closed her eyes and tried to focus on work, she tried to focus on the pointless task she had been put up to. It seemed like everyone already hated her and was willing to show her this by making her life miserable. She wanted to tell them that she did not give a shit what they thought of her and Johnny, and why couldn’t they just leave the both of them alone?
Maybe she would never understand exactly what it was that Johnny had done to warrant such foul treatment, she just hoped it would end someday. She was tired of being treated like she was some sort of wretched being that repulsed anyone she came close to. It was too much for her to bear, and she couldn’t help but wonder how Johnny had managed it for so long. He was a strong man, and she had once been a strong woman but her constant had been stolen from her and she had grown weak.

She realized as she sat there that she was missing something. Olivia thought about leaving her house that morning, Johnny had left with her. She had taken everything she needed, so what was it? It was almost like there was something missing from her. A piece of her, a piece of what she had been and what she wanted to be. Something she would never be.
When her front door opened it dawned on her. It was Elliot. Elliot was what was missing. Olivia closed her eyes and bit her lip against the sudden on slaughter of fresh tears. Johnny had already spent one night soothing her, there was no need for there to be another one. He poked his head around the corner and then smiled at her and came into her living room. Olivia had managed to unpack a few more things, making the room feel a little less empty.
She smiled up at Johnny and then stood up and walked over to him. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest. She could tell that her behavior shocked him slightly, but she just needed to be held.
“How was work?” Johnny asked her. Olivia looked up at him and frowned. How could she possibly describe for him what she had gone through in only a few hours? She was sure that she could do it if she put her mind to it, she just didn’t want to try.
“I got more crap, about you,” Olivia said as if there was any question why anyone would give her crap. Johnny nodded grimly then ran his fingers through her hair and kissed her forehead.
“And you’re still here? I’m sure they’ve told you all about my psychic abilities,” Johnny said. He took a step back from her but did not let go of her. He slipped his finger under her chin and tilted her head back to look at him.
“Yeah,” Olivia said simply. She was skeptical about all of it—she didn’t really by into any of that psychic stuff—but there was something about Johnny that just…it just made her want to believe him. She was sure that if he told her that was the truth then she would believe him. He had no reason to lie to her, right?
Olivia looked up at Johnny and smiled, then put her hand on the back of his neck and pulled his head down to her level. She brushed her lips against his then tried to pull back, but Johnny pulled her closer. He slipped one arm around her waist and then kissed her, quickly deepening it. He held her body to his as close as he possibly could and only released her once oxygen became a necessity.
She smiled at him then kissed his neck before burying her head in his chest and sighing contently.

Johnny’s fingers released the slender wrist he had caught hold of and he took a step back. The woman staring at him had beautiful brown eyes, eyes that spoke of tragedy and suffering, but also of a life that has been worth living. Her auburn hair was blown into her eyes by the wind and she swept it away with her hand. The man standing next to her was standing closer than any lover or boyfriend ever would. He did not just love her—he needed her presence in his life to survive—and he could say the same about the woman.
The woman was looking at him with her sad brown eyes and he suddenly understood. She had seen everything he had just seen, she had been there in his vision. That was why it had seemed so real. That was why Johnny had vanished from it at times, almost as if life was just unfolding without being observed by an outside party. He looked at her for another moment then looked at the man again.
Johnny took a step back and then began running through the crowd. He had come to New York to try and escape everything—the heat he had been feeling for Walt’s death, Sarah’s anger, JJ’s sudden ability and well…just life. He was tried of it all. What he hadn’t expected was to see the life that he could possibly live. One that he would be living if he didn’t go back and find Olivia and Elliot and tell them. He had to tell them that they needed to run away. All of them. All of the people that Olivia loved that would soon die before their time had come. They just needed to leave.
Johnny had seen a glimpse of the life that he could have lived with Olivia. Two children, a white picket fence and a dog running around in the yard. They would move somewhere that they could get away from all of it. All of the troubles of the world. Everything that had haunted them for so many years. It could all just be forgotten with a few simple words and trip across the continent. It was everything that he had ever wanted, but it was not everything that Olivia had ever wanted.
Johnny had felt her pain as she thought about Elliot and how much she missed him. He couldn’t do that to her. He had to go find her. He had to tell them that…that they were meant for each other. Johnny wanted to walk away and keep everything he had seen—but that wasn’t fair. Johnny turned around and headed toward Olivia. He would ruin his life, but there was nothing left worth saving.
END
A/N: So that was sort of an epiphany that came to me as I was writing. I knew that the reason Johnny was hated by everyone in the town was because of Walt—I had decided that early on. But what was new was that it would all be a vision. I just couldn't tear Elliot and Olivia apart. It would be far crueler than to actually allow them to remain together (; Well…I hope this story wasn’t too crazy, predictable and hard to follow. If you’re still unsure about anything…tell me and I’ll try to clear it up. Toodles!
