Me: -kneels down- SheenaxZelos forever!

Sheena: -sigh- She's a Sheelos worshipper. Kitty-Katz-Katz owns not Tales of Symphonia, otherwise this would be a real scene and you would be able to have Yuan join the party. And maybe even find out his last name.

I was lying on a bed at the Flanoir inn, looking up at the ceiling, arms sprawled out. I was mulling over the day’s events. I still couldn’t believe that Kratos was Lloyd’s father…And the fact that we were going to the Tower of Salvation tomorrow didn’t ease my nerves at all. I missed Corrine. He’d make me feel better with his chatter. There was a gentle knock on the door. I pulled myself to a sitting position.

“Come in,” I sighed.

The door opened a crack and the red-haired Chosen stuck his head in. He was smiling instead of his usual cheery grin.

“Hey, it’s snowing outside,” he explained. “Wanna go for a walk?”

I threw my pillow at his retreating head before getting off the bed.

“Don’t call me your hunny,” I huffed, following him outside.

“Alright, alright, Sheena,” he chuckled, putting his hands up in defense. I looked at the falling snowflakes.

“It’s a nice night,” I commented, catching a snowflake and watching it melt on my hand.

“Yeah...I guess...” he murmured. I raised my eyebrow.

“What’s wrong, Zelos?” I asked, turning to face him.

“My mother, ah, died on a snowy day, like this one. It was my first time seeing snow,” Zelos muttered, more to himself than to me. “My father’s half elven mistress killed her. She was aiming for me but my mother got in the way of the spell…The snow was tainted red with her blood...”

“Zelos...”

“Before she died, she grabbed my shoulders and told me, ’You should never have been born.’” He continued softly. “The world would’ve been better off if I hadn’t. Seles could’ve been the Chosen and my mother would never have died.”

“Zelos, that’s not true,” I insisted fiercely. “Don’t ever think that! I-I don’t want to think what would’ve happened if I’d never met you.”

“Sheena...” he stared at me. Then, without any warning, he wrapped me in a warm hug. I was startled at first, but relaxed in his gentle grip.

“Zelos...” I looked up at his face. He leaned down and our lips met in a tender kiss. I closed my eyes slowly and wrapped my arms around his neck. His lips parted and his tongue darted through. It touched my lips, as if asking for permission to go further. I could feel my face flush as I parted my lips, allowing entry. We shared a deep, passionate kiss, standing in the middle of the falling snow. It was...my first kiss.

We slowly broke apart and I gazed longingly at him.

“W-we should get inside,” I suggested, a bit flustered. “Before someone noticed we’re gone.” I added, smiling. I gave his hand a gentle squeeze.

“Yeah…” Zelos smiled. Was that a trace of a...blush crossing his face?

We walked, hand in hand, back into the inn. We stopped outside my room. Zelos gave me one last hug before leaving for his room.

“Good night, Sheena. Sleep well.”

The next day, at the Tower of Salvation

I kneeled beside his body, my tears dripped onto his face.

“Zelos...why?” I sobbed. He gave me a weak smile.

“You guys...gotta rescue Colette...” he groaned. “She’s in the Great Seed chamber...below...”

“Zelos, no!” I cried, hugging him. The rest of the group were scattered around us, looking shocked at the turn of events.

“Lloyd...destroy my Cruxis Crystal...after I’m gone,” he gasped for breath. “Sheena...I...love...you...”

After saying that, his eyes closed and his form grew limp.

“You...stupid Chosen...” I sobbed. I laid him on the ground, my tears starting to cloud my vision. “Lloyd...please...”

He nodded sadly and brought his sword down on Zelos’ Cruxis Crystal. It shattered on impact and his body faded away. I choked down a sob. I felt an arm on my shoulder and turned to see Lloyd.

“We have to save Colette...for Zelos,” he said, his brown eyes full of sadness.

“Y-you’re right,” I sniffed. I followed the rest of the group onto the teleporter Pronyma had disappeared into, looking back at where Zelos had been a few seconds ago.

“Goodbye...Zelos...”

Me: -sniff- T-that was so sad! I-I didn’t intend for it to be so heartbreaking…

Sheena: -sob- R-review…
