AN: I was going through my old files and found this…I remember how badly I wanted to put this scene in, but I had never finished it and ended up releasing the chapter without it. It’s from Asuka’s pov, taking place sometime around Usagi’s grieving in Sailor Moon X. I don’t really remember why I never finished it, I think part of it was that by the time I introduced Asuka, Usagi was getting over everything already… What I really love about this scene is that it shows Asuka’s personality. In the actual fic she’s ended up sort of…lifeless…I need to work on that. ( –sobs- I MADE HER A DRONE! A SHEEP! I’M HORRIBLE! ) But pretend we’re in the 4th chapter, and Asuka has been around for awhile, okay?
Sailor Moon X Deleted Scene: Like Strawberries and Sugar
“I don’t know, it just really makes me mad,” she tossed the strawberries into a bowl and grabbed a knife from drawer behind her.
“I just don’t see why everyone can’t be happy all the time. I understand that this was her destined love or whatever, and that he was their king, yada yada. But to me it just sort of comes out like ‘this that this that this that the other’ and I’m just like ‘what are you talking about?’ Hey! That’s from a song! By oh…what’s her name…” she snapped with her free hand, “Amanda Lepore! Her! Yeah she sang My Hair Looks Fierce!” she giggled and picked up a fat strawberry and started to cut it into small pieces.
“But honestly, destiny just seems like a euphemism for ‘don’t have a choice’. Yeah, Usagi loved Mamoru. Blah blah blah. But it seemed to me like she loved him out of obligation because she knew about the future.”
She picked up another strawberry and turned to the figure near her, “Now I know what you’re thinking-don’t give me that look! I know I’m the senshi of fate and wind and crap, but fate acts in realllllly weird ways.” She turned back to the bowl.
“If you ask me, what we need to do is give everyone a proper boyfriend,” she stabbed a strawberry with her fork and gave a disgusted face. She reached for another cup of sugar out of the tub next to her, “Or…girlfriend, in Haruka’s case.”
She picked up the fork and stirred the strawberry pieces around in the bowl, mixing the sugar around.
“I still don’t know how Haruka managed to bag a girl like Michiru. She seems like the least likely candidate to realize when someone’s crazy over her. What freaks me out is that they got together on their own. I always figured Haruka would end up as a hermit or something…” she suddenly had embarrassment written all over her face and turned towards the quiet listener again, “Don’t get me wrong! She’s my big sister. I love her and all, but she’s just so…oblivious. She just tends to keep to herself. She doesn’t really open up to anyone… except Michiru. Damn that girl’s lucky. Sometimes I wish I knew what was going on in Haruka’s mind.” She shook her head, causing her sandy blonde hair to fly around, then turned back to the counter once again.
“Haruka and Michiru do go perfect together though. They’re like bread and butter. Like…ice cream and chocolate syrup. Like strawberries and sugar,” she giggled again.
“They’re so lucky to have found each other. If only I could get a nice guy…” her voice trailed off as she imagined her dream guy, then she came back down to Earth and picked up the knife to chop up a particularly large strawberry.
“Now if we can get Usagi to realize that it’s Seiya holding her when she’s crying, then we’d be getting somewhere. If she’d get out of lala land and realize that maybe someone loves her even more than Mamoru did, then maybeeee we could get everyone else to recover too. Then we just have to get Yaten to realize that the person he’s constantly with is Minako, and that the only people that understand Taiki and Ami are each other, then we’d really be making progress!”
A grin came over the younger Tenoh’s face, “Why stop with just them? Let’s get all the senshi hooked up. They all either have people lined up left and right or have someone drooling over them. Take Makoto for example. That geeky guy from the arcade clearly loves her, but she still hasn’t noticed. And what is with Rei anyway? She’s stuck in this ‘Boys are bad. I no likely boys.’ state of mind. Geeze. We have to break her of that. That guy at her shrine with a realllly bad haircut,” she thought for a moment, “Or rather, no haircut at all…Seriously has a crush on her. But once again: completely oblivious. You’d think it was a curse among these girls or something. They’re all freaking oblivious! Well, I guess Yaten and Taiki are boys…”
She raised one eyebrow, “Or are they?”
She seemed to be contemplating this a few minutes, and finally she seemed to give up and continue on with her rant.
“Now what to do about Setsuna and Hotaru I don’t know. Hotaru told me about Usagi and Mamoru’s daughter having some pre-destined boyfriend or something who takes the form of a unicorn. I don’t know. I wasn’t really following when she told me about it. Sounds like nightmare to me. Who the hell would want to date a horse? But I really don’t know what to do about Setsuna and Hotaru…But there’s bound to be guys out there for them too, right?” She pierced a strawberry with her fork and popped it in her mouth. She grinned with satisfaction, picked up the bowl, and walked over to the listener.
“I’m glad we had this talk,” She told them, and patted Hotaru’s bear on the head. She then walked out of the kitchen, bowl in hand.

AN: It’s an extremely cute scene, definitely one of my favorites. I really wish I could’ve worked it into the story somehow, but I’m just not sure how to. Ah well.
What I love about this is how Asuka seems to stand out from the other senshi through this. It’s just her perspective. She seems so optimistic in this scene. And just…cute. My goal right now is to try to get more of Asuka’s personality to shine through in the real story. I want to try to get her life philosophy and point of view to show itself in the actual plot, and not just in scenes I couldn’t get to fit.
I hope you guys enjoyed this. I figured I’d upload it to see what you guys thought.
