Thought Spinner: bows to readers and Thread Magic Gomen nasai

Thought Spinner: bows to readers and Thread Magic Gomen nasai! I’ve been suffering from several months of writer’s block, so I’ve been fairly dead when it comes to stories. Unfortunately, I’ve been the one with the notebook. I have recovered, though, by dropping out of IB (well, most of it), and now its done collecting dust!

“Man, I have nothing to do,” Yusuke said, flopping down onto the floor. “No school, no Spirit World stuff... it’s great!”

“But aren’t you and Keiko planning to get married and open a ramen shop next year?” Kurama asked.

Yusuke glared slightly at him. “You just had to bring it up, didn’t you?”

“Urameshi, I thought that was what you wanted,” Kuwabara said. “Didn’t you come up with that?”

“Yeah, I know, but that’s in the future. It’ll be great but not until it actually happens.”

“Waiting for it to just happen isn’t productive,” Kurama noted as he finished filling out yet another college application. “A bit more preparation is generally helpful.”

“Nah. Keiko’s had everything planned since we were kids. You know girls. I hardly have a say in anything.”

“Well,” Kurama mused, “where are you guys going to live?”

“Above the ramen shop.” Yusuke rolled onto his side to see Kurama better.

“But where is that going to be?”

“Uh...”

“Come on Urameshi, you can’t have Keiko do everything. She’ll have her hands full with the wedding. You should look around for a shop and find money and-”

“Wait, Keiko’s planning the wedding, right?” The other two nodded. “Crap. Keiko’s going to kill me. I haven’t helped at all!” He got up and ran for Genkai’s phone.

Kurama shook his head at his antics. Kuwabara shrugged and started browsing through Genkai’s video games. After a few minutes Yusuke came back in.

“Keiko’s coming over, and she’s bringing some wedding stuff.” Kurama chuckled behind his hand at the look of utter dismay on Yusuke’s face.

“C’mon, it won’t be that bad,” Kuwabara said.

Yusuke just gave him a look. “Yes. It will.”

“I think you might be acting a little overdramatic,” Kurama told him.

“Shut up. She said since I probably won’t be any help, she’s gonna get Botan and Yukina and Shizuru to help.” He groaned and shook his head. “Why me?!”

“Because you’re the one who proposed.”

Keiko waited on the sidewalk, with her wedding plans in the bag at her feet. She glanced at her wristwatch, then down the street. She perked up and retrieved the bag from the ground as Shizuru’s car drove up.

“Hey Keiko. Hop in.”

“Hey Shizuru. How have you been?”

“I’ve been good. How are the plans coming?”

“They’re alright. I have some basic things done, but until we settle a place and date, it’s kinda hard to plan much.” Shizuru flicked some ash from her cigarette out the window as they idled at a stoplight.

“Then get on him about it. He doesn’t have to work for Koenma any more, so he should have lots of free time. And your shop. Have you found a location yet?”

“No. There’s still a lot to do. Planning a marriage is hard.” The two sat in silence as the number of trees outside the window increased. Soon they were in Genkai’s lands, and the pulled up to the temple. Keiko grabbed the bag and got out of the car. The two walked up the stairs together.

Without knocking, Shizuru opened the shoji door, startling two of the boys inside. Dropping and putting out her cigarette, she walked in the door.

“Dang sis!” Kuwabara yelled from where he fell off the couch. “Give a guy some warning!”

“You should have known I was coming. Aren’t you supposed to have heightened senses? If I was a demon, you’d be dead.”

While the siblings teased and bickered, Keiko walked over to Yusuke, who was resituating himself in his seat. She sat down next to him, set the bag on the coffee table, and gave him a hug. Yusuke blushed, but gave her shoulders a quick squeeze. Sitting back up, she grabbed the bag with her wedding plans in it.

“Okay, we don’t have much so far, but it’s going to have a pink and red theme.”

“A what theme?!”

“Pink and red. You know, the flowers will be pink and red, the tablecloths, the dishes...”

“I’m telling you now, my tux will be traditional black.”

“Yes, yes, and I’ll be wearing mostly white, but other than that, you know?”

“There’s no way I’m going to a pink party,” Kuwabara said, sounding horrified.

“Why not baby brother?” Shizuru asked. “Remember your tenth birthday party...”

“Shut up Shizuru, that was your fault!” The others laughed, and Keiko and Yusuke got back to planning, while the others sometimes gave their two cents. Yukina and Genkai came in too, having finished up making healing balms they had been making in the other room. Genkai found Yusuke’s discomfort with planning quite funny.

“Hey,” Yukina piped up. “Did anyone invite Botan to our get-together?”

“Yeah,” said Keiko. “I got ahold of her, but she said she’d be late. She had to o something for Koenma first.”

“She probably won’t show up then,” Yusuke said. “Koenma can keep a person running around in circles in weeks. Don’t plan on her coming anytime soon.”

“Oh Yusuke! Just because you were fired doesn’t mean you have to be bitter towards Koenma.” Botan walked through the door, pointing a scolding finger at Yusuke.

“Oh Botan, I’m glad you could make it!” Keiko smiled at the blue haired girl.

“Hey, I wasn’t fired, I quit!” Kurama chuckled at his friend’s temper. “Really Yusuke, it was a little of both, for all four of us.” Botan nodded in agreement.

“So what did you have to do Botan? Or can you not tell us?”

“Sorry Kuwabara, I probably shouldn’t. You guys aren’t privy to our information anymore, and I don’t want to get in trouble.”

“That’s fine,” he told her. “I was just curious.” Botan smiled at him.

“So!” She clapped her hands. “Let’s see these wedding plans.” She skipped over to Keiko and plopped down next to her. Keiko passed what had been decided over to her. Botan skimmed through the notes, and the cross outs. Curious, she pointed them out.

“That’s where Yusuke argued and didn’t want something, so they compromised and changed it.” Yusuke smiled sheepishly, but he was unrepentant.

“Of course he can’t just go along with it,” she muttered. “Although I’m honestly surprised he didn’t argue about the pink.”

“Oh, that was decided before we came here,” Keiko said.

“Good choice.” The girls giggled.

“Sheesh,” Botan commented. “You guys have a lot done. At least you know where it’s going to be now. I’m tired just thinking about all the work we’ll have to do.”

“We also decided it’ll be early summer.” Botan jotted that down on the paper for Keiko.

“Well, I hope I’m not doing anything at that time so I can help. Koenma’s kept me running around since you guys have gone. I mean,” she started to rant, “just today, I had to go check out this weak demon energy at a-” She stopped herself. “Forget I said any of that!” Yusuke and Kuwabara perked up at the mention, and Botan waved them off. “I’m not saying anything!”

“Come on Botan. We don’t want a demon running around, messing up our plans,” Yusuke pointed out.

“Nothing to worry about. Very weak. It’s only an investigation.” The boys grumbled, but left it alone.

Thought Spinner: And I’m currently the one with the notebook, so I get to do the author’s note first! Aren’t I special? Now if only I could remember what I was talking about... oh! Oh yeah, I was supposed to say ‘I told you so!’ Or rather, TM told you so and we did introduce the YYH gang. So now review, okay? We’re getting tons of page views and not many reviews. It’s okay if you don’t like it, just review! Or I shall hunt you down...

Thread Magic: Be nice. And yes, YYH gang has shown up. Please review, we love them! And I’m sorry, but the poll closed last chapter. (Sess/Kag won). Man my back hurts from typing this up. You better appreciate it!
