A/N- Just something angsty I wrote when I was pissed off. Comments would be nice.

A Darker Dream

She thrashed in the corner of her room, the voices screaming in her head. Two in the morning and still they screamed. Three, still they moaned. Four, they shrieked. The night was hell for Lucy. Her past haunted her, every evening the voices growling in her ear, echoing throughout the room, yet only she could hear them. Thick, staining tears dripped from her cheek to the floor as she choked on her sobs.

A darker dream

That has no ending…”

“Please!” she screamed, catching her breath in sharp increments. “Just leave me alone.” She held her head in her hands, her body thrashing, her nightly routine underway. She gripped onto the bar of her bed, keeping herself as still as possible, the rest of her body involuntarily. Chills ran down her spine, causing her to shake more feverishly.

“That’s so unreal

You believe that its true…”

Beads of sweat ran down her forehead, fighting her mind at a threatening pace. It would be over soon, she assured herself. “You can’t control me,” she whispered.

“A dance of death

Right out of a mystery tale…”

With every inch of strength that remained, she forced herself to stand, gripping on to her makeup table as hard as she could. She felt so lifeless, her skin so ghostly pale, easily compared to the pigment of a cloud. Her hair feel out of its upswept keep, fragments sticking to her face, her tears its paste.

“The frightened princess

Doesn’t know what to do…”

“No!” she wailed, digging her nails into the dark wood that sat before her. “No!” Thick goosebumps lined her skin, the cool air of London a sharp contrast the tears and sweat that lined Lucy’s skin. It was almost over, she could feel the control breaking. Gasping for air, she held onto the sides of the table, keeping herself from collapsing.

“Will the ghosts go away?”

“No!”

“Will she will them to stay?”

“No!”

With one last gasp of air, her body fell to the ground, her haunting over for tonight. However, no matter how hard she fought it, no matter how hard she would try to break free from her past, from the men that had hurt her, from the terrible things she had subjected herself to, there was no way she would ever be free. This, Lucy was quite aware of.

“Either way there’s no way to win…”
