Author's Note: Okay so this is my first Hairspray fic, and really it's just a bunch of connecting one-shots about Penny and Seaweed from during the movie and after. Hope you like.
P.S: it is movie verse but maybe with a feel very minor changes
Disclaimer: I don't know Hairspray or any of it's characters, sadly.
“I’m here to see Tracy Turnblad,” Penny announced over the music, as though she were in an office building. Tracy appeared behind the boy and held her hand out to Penny.
“Where’s her slip?” the boy asked
“She doesn’t need one,” Tracy explained. “She’s with me.” She pulled Penny further into the room and the door shut behind them, in the faces of the crowd in the hall. Tracy led Penny around the room and stopped in front of one of the many boys dancing. “Seaweed this is Penny, Penny, Seaweed,” the brunette said, making the introduction quickly before she disappeared into the crowd of dancers. Penny looked up at the boy and gaped, her signature cherry lollipop sliding out of her mouth. She quickly snapped to, fumbling for the candy, before it hit the ground, and popped it back in her mouth. She looked back up Seaweed with a sheepish grin, this time able to take in the details. His dark chocolate coloured skin, the yellow and black striped shirt, black pants and black converse sneakers. And of course the amazingly flirtatious smile on his face.
“Hello,” Penny finally managed to mumble through her lollipop.
Seaweed just continued to smile, obviously unable to regain his composure as fast as the adorable girl in front of him. There was something about those pigtails, the cute little smile that was slightly obscured by the lollipop in her mouth, and the bright pink blush creeping up on her cheeks, that just stunned him.
Penny looked at Seaweed quizzically. “Are you mute?” she asked innocently, a sudden look of worry across her face. That seemed to snap him out of it. He laughed heartily and finally responded.
“No baby! Just the strong and silent type,” he joked. Penny smiled and giggled a little, twirling her lollipop around in her moth. Seaweed opened his mouth to ask her to dance but the shrill ring of the bell stopped him. “Well baby, see ya around,” he said with a smile as he gathered his booked and sauntered out of the room behind the other kids.
Tracy came up behind Penny as she watched Seaweed leave. “What’s up, Pen?”
Penny sighed dreamily. “You know those bells you were talking about?” she said.
